  • Nice cover!!! Hope you can make a video about legatto, good luck

  • nice!!

  • lol nice posters on the back wall there

  • hey ...but it sounds like the playback music is to loud to hear your sound ,,,my advise is to record the video again without petrucci playing ! :) haa what do you think can u do that? ha ?

  • What are you using for amp and effects? love the sound

  • Love your videos but I wish you would post the settings.

    Thanks

  • use a backing track so we hear you well...cheat

  • amazing cover love it!

  • you should use a backtrack version for this song .... great cover... =)

  • Hey Mark.. Your playing is excellent and the tone is spot on as always.. I read what you had to say about the backing track.. But sometimes your notes kinda mix with the live track notes.. But 5 stars without a doubt.. Awesome

  • Excellent! 5 stars!

  • Awesome 5/5

  • you rock bro big time hope you could check out my vids to btw 5/5 for you.... keep on rockin....^_^

  • I have the backer to this!!!

  • nice, but if you want the backtrack without john playing i could give it to you o_O

  • Do you have the live version backing track I was unable to find that one?

  • why would you want the live version backing.. the studio backing is just the same, cept without portnoy on drums.

  • I thought I responded to this but it didnt show up, basically to be honest with you I thnk the backing track that is available out there was not mixed that well and the guitar that they have added should have been left out. Also, the middle section of the live version is not the same as the studio version. There are differences between the two, quite alot actually.

  • lovely work. But if you thought the BT was mising something, add it. You seem to have a lot of studio tools? Just think that hearing only you would add a great deal to your videos.

  • WOW that is incredible its just like john! infact almost better! keep it up!

  • lol no ;p

  • Killer video rockstar! Practice has served you well! Enjoy what you do so well

  • great job, moby!

  • Saweeeeet!!

  • This is an awesome song. Great job.

  • loved it, you play great..

I have a white Jem 555, but I cant play like you,

youre amazingly relaxed with such awesome timing.. Ive seen Satch, Vai and Malmsteen live, all were amazing and you are up with them in so many ways....you need to do some networking, youre sound is awesome...

ps check out Emily on my channel.. : )

  • oh, this is the live version of the song:p YOU ARE AWESOME ^:)^

  • Hey Mark, you're definitely one of the best guitarists on youtube. I can just feeeel your dedication and love for the guitar. Thanks.

  • It it is possible, I would like to give more than a 5 star rating to this video.

  • great job. Petrucci is the best.

  • :) funny

  • Honestly, you do the best covers I've ever seen on youtube. Believe me I've seen a lot. Absolutely brilliant. 5 stars.

  • You are really amazing... And I love this song!

  • great cover!!!!!!

  • i absolutely love this track.... it's SO beautiful, but the name doesn't do it justice :P

  • Thanks for the sub

  • nice

  • how do you get such a full sound. you using a gt 10 or pod x3live or something like that.

  • Hey, I have that same Led Zeppelin poster in my room..

    Hah

  • Wanna share your greatness with me?

  • You are the best guitarist on youtube

And you have a cool name (Triple M)

  • how long have you been playing for ? cos im 13 and have been playing for 9 years but im not progressing any more im jst staying the same since bout a year ago

  • What you need to do is practice some new more chalenging things, I'm always learning some new technique and some of them I have to practice at very slow speeds until I can slowly pick the speed up over weeks of practice. I think some of the issues with learning is everyone is trying to learn a solo from a song before they learn some of the basic guitar techniques. The more guitar licks you can learn the easier solos will come to you later.

  • hi! very very good cover

can u send me the tab??

    pls

  • Yeah man I totally agree you gotta get all the scales down etc before you can play a solo in that scale lol PS dude u rock !

  • hes almost 47, and keep practicing. you are at a plateu stage, just mix some stuff up, get into something that really interests you, or something that when you listen to it u say; dam i wanna play that, and work hard at it. their is no better feeling than acomplishment

  • Usually I would play with a backing track and you would not hear the other guitarist , but in this video I am playing in Unison with him. I would have rather perfomed my version with a great backing track but could not find one from the live tour.

  • hmm... i thingk u just accompanied the G3 version of Glasgow kiss, am i right?

  • Yes you are.

  • fantastic job

  • You match his tone perfectly

  • Thanks, I believe that is one of my strong points, if I decide to capture a sound of a guitarist I can usually duplicate it pretty close. The GT10 I'm using now pretty much allows me to do that with just about anyones sound.

  • yeah actually theres something off im not sure what, but please dont think im dissing you or your video, im a big fan and i know you play quite good, and you have a great tone, but theres just something that sounds off specially at the beginning

  • hard song. good cover though .

  • dewd....awesomeeeee

  • Do you like Dream Theater? I'd love to see you cover some of their songs.

    Awesome performance btw.

  • Yes I do like Dream Theater!! Thanks.

  • fantastic rendition !

    sounds awesome

    5*****

  • how did you get sooo good?

    and that tone too...god damn.

  • gr8 job man ... really nice

  • What are you using for an amp? Sound rackish.

  • On this video I did not use my guitar setup. I basically played directly through a Boss GT10. The trick is spending the time with the parameters so you are able to duplicate anothers sound. This is just as important as learning your parts. Most presets in the floor units are not very great sounding, just creat your own and give them a name.

  • Nice posters in the backround:P:P

  • hoi my frend ferry ferry good y enjoyu ith, greats from the netterlands regards jan

  • Lol I think the main riff at the start is fairly difficult. You make it look really, really easy. 5 stars.

  • Kinda, and moslty because of the sweeps in my opinion.

When I heard that song a few minutes ago, I got the tabs and started to learn it. I'm not a shredder with lots of technique and stuff so I play it very very slow for the moment.

Hope I get to play it like Mark someday :p

  • Believe me when I was learning it I also played it very slow that is the only way to get the correct techniques down. Also I have gotten much better at this song since the time I uploaded the video. This live version is not tabbed to my knowledge so what I did was use Windows Media Player to slow it down to 1/2 speed to figure out the notes. You should try that sometime versus tabs.

  • Well I got the live tabs =) On guitarpro there are tabs. I don't use GP though, but TuxGuitar which is almost the same but free.

Anyway, I'll try to figure out song by solwing them down. Keep it up anyway ! :)

  • Learn all the modes and practice them daily using alternate picking. Also practice sweep picking everyday. And to take it to the next level always find a good jam track and jam along using your own riffs.

  • nice work. also i have the same led zep poster that you have

  • i was a fan of your but to see you play Petrucci´s stuff is realy desapointed

  • Do you not like John Petrucci?

  • Comment removed

  • Great song!

  • dude.. nice

    jem55?

  • HELL YEAH

  • My Buddy! I know how much time and effort you put into that, but the end result is...you make it look easy. I consider it a privilege to be your friend and not just for the music. They should start a G4 and get you in the action.

  • Go, Mark, Go ! You are fantastic man ! Five billion stars !

    Muniz (bass)

  • WOW THAT WAS AMAZING! 5*

  • dam, u always have an amazing tone

  • ya dude u are god here!

  • you are a god!

  • wow!!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

  • sick guitar!

  • May I ask what your set up it? You get a great sound. And awesome cover btw. xD

  • For this song I used just a GT10 plugged into the mixer.

  • Hey, Mark. Nice job. Is it a coincidence that I just started learning this song too?

  • I look forward to seeing your version, I am learning the G3 live version this versin is from the Tokyo concert.

  • I'm learning the G3 version too.

    Cheers.

  • I think that John Petrucci made the song better as he performed it live. That is why he changed the parts from the originl. I like the live versions much better then the studio version. The backing track thats out there is just to clutered in the middle.

  • holy crap!!! that was amazing, I wish i can play like you

  • marc is back

  • Sweet!

  • Hi Mark: As usual Great job!!!! For those of you out there that don't know, Mark is also an excellent photographer, sound/video recorder and editor. Any work out there, send it his way.

Damn wish I could play like you !!!!

    greetings from holland

  • gewoon blijven oefenen! ik hoop dat ik ook ooit zo kan spelen. =)

    @markmusicman: AMAZING! 5/5

  • Really impressive, the tone is spot on

  • All I used for the guitar sound was a GT10 plugged directly into a mixer.

  • awesome man, this song is so damn hard! although for some reason ive never liked the song

  • I like Celtic music quite a bit, are you familiar with the band The Corrs? (They are three sisters and a brother) They are awesome check their unplugged stuff out here on youtube.

  • I had to wait until I was in the right mood, but I'm lovin it. they're all very talented

  • this may sound weird, but are you an english teacher in new jersey?..

  • lol

  • Great Job! Excellent tone! 5/5*'s! :D

  • Im just learning it, so I don't have the parts all down yet. I did a few takes and decided to go with this one for now. I may do another vid when I have practiced the song a bit more.
