Well Josua crime I thing its a damn good effort like all the other XtC covers you have done ......are fantastic That extreme critic is just jealous of your prowess.
#1 you like and love XTC....#2how did you get the backtrack (or no vocal ). #3we need to talk .seems you are a man of my own heart! senses working overtime. are you a musician? would love to talk about the XTC . have always drowned in summers cauldron forvever. these guys have ruled since 79'. you might think that i don't give a shit ...but i do
all i can say is keep doing more and would like to stay in contact with you.
To be honest, it was really my first real serious attempt at recording anything at all with this new software. I'd do almost everything differently had I to do it over again. A respectable rookie attempt.
That being said, I didn't think it was THAT bad. There's just no pleasing some people.
You'd be surprised; it's not as difficult to play this as you think. Part of it is how Dave G's guitar sounds. It's got a lot of very warbly chorus on it and it's a 12 string to boot. I've been listening to it for as long as it's been out, so that helps, too.
Thanks very much. I don't want to take backinnyc's thunder, but I will probably do a few more XTC tunes before attempting to finish off some originals.
I have a 2007 Jetglo 360-12 with hi-gain pickups. I tried one with the toasters, and to be honest, I don't like the midrange character of the toasters at all. I also don't use flat- or half-wounds.
Glad you enjoyed it. I think there are maybe 2-3 XTC fans total left in the entire US, it seems.
No, just different. I've been to Toronto, and to be honest, the only difference I could see between average Americans and average Canadians was the prolific use of the "eh" at the end of sentences. And poutine. Otherwise, interchangable.
Love it.

You really got the mood of this song. What is interesting is that without the vocal I can better appreciate the background music.
You did an outstanding job. Thank you.

Outstanding!!!!!!! The musicianship is very good, but song selection & taste are the most important thing and you've got that in spades. Congrats.

I don't mean to be so greedy.. considering covers as great as this and your others I'll take whatever I can get..
Still I can't help but make a polite suggestion/request that you hopefully do "Respectable Street" sometime. :3

From one XTC fan to another, you deserve a huge pat on the back!
I really do like this; very faithful to the original, and the chiming guitar sounds terrific.
Very good work mate.

There are at least two Canadian fans here - does that help?

Canadians hate being compared to Americans, so I will remain silent on that. :)
