  • You really got the mood of this song. What is interesting is that without the vocal I can better appreciate the background music.

You did an outstanding job. Thank you.

  • Well Josua crime I thing its a damn good effort like all the other XtC covers you have done ......are fantastic That extreme critic is just jealous of your prowess.

  • im just trying to learn to play this.this instrumental is excellent help, thanks very much, your an awesome guitarist!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • i could listen to these instrumentals all day ! really great stuff

  • You stayed very faithful to the original - excellent stuff (as a slight aside one of my best friends at school was Dave Gregory's younger brother!).

  • Very fine job, had me "karaoking" right along...

  • Excellent work!!! Thanks for share....

  • Great job. Thanks.

  • V.good I thought as an xtc fan of nearly 32 yrs! Dunno why Mr whacky didn't like it.

  • @PeteCrunchy

To be honest, it was really my first real serious attempt at recording anything at all with this new software. I'd do almost everything differently had I to do it over again. A respectable rookie attempt.

That being said, I didn't think it was THAT bad. There's just no pleasing some people.

  • Fantastic. Thanks!

  • Another song I've always wanted to hear in intrumental mode!! Thanks for posting! :-)

  • Sweet! Great Job!

  • sounds fantastic mate. cheers X

  • Absolutely fantastic mate! Superb.

  • Wonderful!

  • Thanks very much!

  • Outstanding!!!!!!! The musicianship is very good, but song selection & taste are the most important thing and you've got that in spades. Congrats.

  • Much appreciated. :)

  • I don't mean to be so greedy.. considering covers as great as this and your others I'll take whatever I can get..

Still I can't help but make a polite suggestion/request that you hopefully do "Respectable Street" sometime. :3

  • That one was a maybe, but I suppose...it won't be next but I will get to it.

  • Hi Uncle Jim!

  • Hey, bud.

  • awesome job!

  • Thanks very much!

  • Hey ! That was great! I love the original and am jealous that you can play this soooo well - thanks for sharing it.

  • You'd be surprised; it's not as difficult to play this as you think. Part of it is how Dave G's guitar sounds. It's got a lot of very warbly chorus on it and it's a 12 string to boot. I've been listening to it for as long as it's been out, so that helps, too.

    Thanks for the thumbs-up.

  • Amazing! I love the song even more after listening to this! BRAVO!!

  • This is my favorite!

  • Thanks! :)

  • Thanks very much. I don't want to take backinnyc's thunder, but I will probably do a few more XTC tunes before attempting to finish off some originals.

  • From one XTC fan to another, you deserve a huge pat on the back!

I really do like this; very faithful to the original, and the chiming guitar sounds terrific.

    Very good work mate.

  • I have a 2007 Jetglo 360-12 with hi-gain pickups. I tried one with the toasters, and to be honest, I don't like the midrange character of the toasters at all. I also don't use flat- or half-wounds.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think there are maybe 2-3 XTC fans total left in the entire US, it seems.

  • There are at least two Canadian fans here - does that help?

  • Canadians hate being compared to Americans, so I will remain silent on that. :)

  • canada is better than the states

  • No, just different. I've been to Toronto, and to be honest, the only difference I could see between average Americans and average Canadians was the prolific use of the "eh" at the end of sentences. And poutine. Otherwise, interchangable.

  • loved the middle 8 by the way

  • nice.which rick do you have
