  • how fake

  • bitch move.

  • They need to quit doing this. Same with altering singers voices with autotune. this needs to stop.

  • The media is teaching us to deny our true selves....

  • This is probably one of the most craziest things i have ever seen....All Women should watch this because this is just fucked up....thanks technology.

  • girls' magazines, makeup brands, clothing brands etc. just profit from the low self-esteem they create young girls to have by distorting the photos of the models they use to advertise their products.. its a way of making money, girls should just realize that. I mean, c'mon! That picture (at the end of the video) was in NO way realistic or natural, which is true beauty.

  • so they basically created a non-existant girl to make real and normal girls feel worthless. how sad..

  • I cant see the difference.

  • i think she is already beautiful..they're doing this just to show how to enhance her looks...

  • what I think is funny is the fact that dove also own Axe which features commertials full with naked women runing after men, and usually these people are gorgeous Im not sure I loev this comertial but it bugs me to think that a company is poutting this out there when they also endorse it

  • I thought she was so much prettier in the beginning-she looked normal, realistic, happy and innocent.

  • The curious thing is, I found her much more attractive at the beginning than at the end.

  • who composed that music?i really need to know, thank you

  • yea, i know... my teacher in 5th grade showed my class this, and said "that's why you should nver believe in these stuff" (my teacher's a women)

  • I agree with PallaThe Dancing Cow. They're just trying to show that realistically, most people don't look like that end result. I think it's quite encouraging, actually. Thanks for posting that, guys!

  • haha if i saw someone walking around with eyes the size of that poster!

    i'd be scared..

that being said, it doesn't look that odd in the poster itself - guess i'm just used to it

and i don't nkow why but for me she got SO much hotter from 28-31 seconds, might have something to do with the lips :D

  • Love this!

  • She was already beautiful. Why change her?

  • this chick was beautiful to start with...

and for you non-beleivers, you should check out doves real beauty campaign in england... they use all shapes of attractive women.

  • :o woow

  • @refundhostspam you should too. we dont need any more assholes. there are enough in politics.

  • Yup, screwed up world that would make someone think they would need to do that to themselves. She looked like a real person in the beginning, by the end she was a fake image. I concede it's possible to subtly enhance but there was nothing subtle able that. Might as well photoshop on bigger bubbs while they're at it, get a few ladies that we've made feel they must live up to a "sexual" standard feeling they need to mutilate themselves to feel good about themselves while we're at it.

  • i love how you all use the word ugly like a dozen times, its stupid to call some one ugly, just cause of their looks. ugly people are the the ones who do shit, beat children, cause wars, steal, lie, thats what makes ugly people, not what they look like. thats called genes and nature..... this world is super fucked up when someone calls someone ugly just cause they dont like their nose or teeth or what ever....its stupid

  • @Laurajt86 *claps* your officialy person of the year.

  • @ThePsychoticScyth396 why thank you, and replying to a comment i left a year ago, good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very interesting

  • Haha, she looked better at the start.

  • WOW SHOCKING!!! :o

  • Thats a great message for the Rebelution! Here's a hard thing: BE YOURSELF!

  • the message is that you can't believe everything you see on billboards/magazines etc and get all stressed out that you can't look like that.

  • So...you think that by putting a bunch of garbage powder on your face, fixing the hair and making the eyes look like somebody punched you in both of them and gave you black eyes...looks GOOD?!? That sounds more like wanting a lie, to me. I prefer to accept people for who they are, not who I want them to be - that's selfish. People get old and ugly every day...you can't be young forever.

  • You know, it's people like you that are making the world as screwed up and disgusting as it is. I hope you're very proud of yourself.

  • actually, they were just doing this to show what actually happens. They started a campaign to help show the real beauty back

  • Comment removed

  • thank you! ^_^

  • g00d message

  • como se llama esa musica de fondo que suena??

  • i want this program ( photoshop)

  • this vid is great beacause it shows girls of all ages that real women are beautiful and people cant expect to look like the photos in magazines because, those pictures aren't women they're photoshop. and in truth the woman in the vid is far to pretty to be distorted by photoshop.

  • she was NOT a beast before

    i thought she was pretty

  • No, it's not a good thing. Because girls and some guys grow up thinking that the models on tv and in psoters are gorgeous perfect creatures. When they arent. Just like it says, their perceptiion of beauty is distorted. And girls that arent the most gorgeous end up getting picked on by other girls or end up hating themselves. Todays world is a cruel place for everyone that isn't 100% perfect.

  • you totally missed the concept of what she said, how tragic

  • Song/artist name/title? Anyone? Posters of this video?

  • Cosmetics + Perfect lighting + Professional photography + Photoshop = Magazine beauty

    Takes a lot

  • Yeah, she was a pretty girl before they distorted her beyond recognition.

  • WOW

  • oh my gosh..

  • I don't know about the rest of you but I think she's pretty enough.

  • @Dethphunk oh yea right lair!!!

  • @kittenlex The definition of beauty varies. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So no, Im not lying. She's still pretty at without the alteration at 0:21

  • i love this vid

  • wow...I think all girls need to take a step back and realize how beautiful they are already...

  • @freedmnlibrt its true...but im telling you, its hard to do that when people put these kinds of billboards up and you're stuck wondering why your looks aren't good enough. i've experienced things like this before and one part of me was like, "ur gorgeous" and the other part kept listing my faults and asking why no one told me i was pretty if they thought so. but im over it now! haha the good part of me won! but, yes i agree with you completely :)

  • Like.. Wow.

  • i have shown this to everyone girl i know, who complains about the way they look. They are already pretty and nice looking themselves, but this video has really helped them realise.

    but it doesnt impact alot..

  • I Think it's sick... People should love themselves for who they are... FOTOSHOP SUCKS!!! I think this is a great video because it shows the truth... xxx Anna

  • photoshop doesn't suck, it's a form of art.

I dont look like those models and i love myself, and also i love making pictures look like that on photoshop!

people need to lear nhow to separate things

  • That is disgusting, as if What God made was unworthy of focus.

  • damn, this is art

  • if only the whole world saw this

  • you are right... LOVE YOURSELF!!!!

  • ma perchè non prendevano direttamente una cchiù bona ??

  • perche costano di piu...penso.

  • This is why so many girls have eating disorders and think that they are imperfect. God please help everyone see that they are beautiful in your eyes!

  • and y wud they take the work from an ugly person? they shud save time with normal ppl

  • OMG NOBODYS PERFECT!!

  • WOW

  • Very good!

  • Great and as well sad commercial. That is the reason why some many girls think they are ugly.

  • photoshop cs3 is no limit !

  • such perfection can only be achieved by the hand of god, how dare the man do such thing

  • anybody know the name of the song thats playing ?

  • The song is: The Flashbulb - Passage D

  • She looked better before

  • Sure She Did

  • Has anyone noticed that they never used Wonder Woman in cosmetic ads? Since Wonder Woman is fictional, the ad would immediately lose its credibility. By putting a digital "as-fictional-as" face who could be the girl next door simply generates billions to the cosmetic surgery and products industry-simply by forcing the idea into the public that the Holy Grail of beauty is attainable.

  • images of beauty thats modified to a standrad that doesn't exist. It's sad. The barbie syndrom kills young women go under the knife, and abuse their bodies to get the appeal that society has set as an image of beauty for the public. intentional or not the effect is the same. flaws are unique and are a beauty of their own. perfection does not exist and people can aim for the stars to achieve it but in reality its a ideal distortion of whats bautiful

  • I like this song, anyone know what it is?

  • thats pretty rediculous

  • I think she was just as beautiful when i first saw her,i told myself with a bit of make up,she would look much better!haha

  • That's terrible.

It's fake beauty!i think it's so wrong, beautiful should be natural beauty. those pictures are all fake too beautiful no wonder why us kids are soooo self concious now a days, so many people would live a happy life knowing that they're pretty just the way they are! (except for the horny jerks)...

  • I'd pump her either way!

  • I think it's kind of sad that instead of "Women can be beautiful without make up or photoshop", the reaction that most people seem to be having here is "Oh, so people are only pretty if they use photoshop-! Just goes to show that everything is fake!"

  • I knew that shit!! (Kind of... wasn't sure) but this just confirms my ideas.

  • Well I guess it shows that anybody can be beautiful.

  • wow. 0.o

  • Thats just really sad. What women would want to go in and act like something shes not. yes she was beautiful when finished, but than they pulled out the computer and did more on her. Thats just wrong.

  • Cool. This is why, when you see a famous model in the supermarket somewhere, in sweatpants, without make-up, you go, "Is that HER??!" --because she looks, basically, just like any one of us, in real life. (except that she's rich and we're not) lol

  • We all know this si happening but never had seen it in action! Very good.

  • atually im sure most models are attractive w/o

  • well i think the point is we all have "bad hair days" right? - throw any freakin human on the full remake beauty program with all kinds of healthy masks, haircut etc and you can make 95 percent of the population look at least 8/10......and did anyone give it a thought how models looked in 1970? Hairy compaired to now - and in 1955? Fat compaired to now - so why give a bleep except because maybe you like lookin good and wanna do the extra work it takes every day - if not who freakin cares:)

  • What du you mean exactly? I'm not sure I understand the last part.

  • The concept of beauty is universal as such but the perception of it is private - if you like you can accept the info you are given by fashion or whatever - the media, but it will never be anything but skindeep - if you like what you see fine but dont skip looking for beauty yourself...feel free to mail if its still to cryptic:)

  • Thanks for this very innforming clip. After watching this, I've remember the adage "beauty is only skin deep."

  • This is a very inaccurate piece of propaganda against the beauty industry. The transformation shown here is something that doesn't actually happen. They'll choose a model they like the look of to start with and the photoshopping subsequently done will not change the basic structure of the model's face.

  • So if I am am understanding this correctly, advertising can be misleading..well I never.

  • I'm speechless, Its incredible .

  • wow, so those hot girls i see on the magzeens are not pretty? >.> woah this ad told e something, it really dosnt matter what you look like, because we all can be ugly! XD lol

  • i think this is a great campaign

its about time we were given a more realistic message instead of the fake faces that fill the pages in the magazines

  • i need someone who make something with a picture in photoshop please add me if you have.. 290362016

ich brauch jemanden der mir bei photoshop ein bild verändert addet mich bitte wenn ihrs habt.. 290362016

  • True true...makeup and photoshop/touch ups can make an average individual look like a beauty queen. BUT HAVE YOU SEEN JESSICA ALBA WITHOUT MAKEUP!??? SHe IS STILL BEAUTIFUL!!!! Which is more than I can say for all of those other celebrities.... =/

  • I used to be a model, but I stopped because I didnt really like what it was about. It's true they do edit anything, I mean ANYTHING, until your nothing but a vague alien reflection of yourself. x

  • CuteCleverBlonde u r so right i just had my profolio done for acting and modeling and i have to say man i look like a celeb in that photo but all they did was airbrush my face ,but they dint do extreme stuff like raize my neck or make my eyes bigger or different color cuse im a guy.

  • really so u act, ive acted in a couple of plays 'stags and hens' was the best :P, acting is much funner then modeling.

  • I look that ugly first thing in the morning too. Thanks the universe for makeup! ;D

  • Quite a good ad campaign..

  • yeah but she was already pretty anyway

  • it really truly beautiful

  • it what now?

  • Excellent post. People need to be reminded what they see on tv and in magazines is probably not real.

  • This is a great message Dove is sending out. However, Dove is owned by Proctor and Gamble which coincidently also owns Cover Girl cosmetics, Crest Whitestrips, and Clairol hair dye, Axe body spray, among other things.

  • She kinda reminds me of Boy George a little.

  • i am an actor/model and i take pictures and they do the same thing but i look more natural cuse im a guy the things they do with my face is they make my face flaw less and and sometimes they change the colers of my eyes, but they never do anything extreme like this girl.

  • well then you're just a tool, its the same thing, ur a robot. u should go die.

  • Well I reckon she looks a lot better after the make-over.

Afterwards she probably had far more confidence. What a load of nonsense this organisation is peddling. The precepts upon which this film are based are total crap. Go and make a film about something important.

  • Maybe that ONE girl had some false confidence because she doesn't even look like that.

But what about all the younger, impressionable girls who see that ad and say, "Oh, I have to be that beautiful" or "That's what women look like" and grow up trying to reach that unattainable standard? That's what this is about.

Can you fill us in on all the nonsense they're peddling? What precepts are total crap? Let's see some specifics instead of just being vague.

  • i wanna be that good at photoshop lol!.

  • Pretty frightening...

  • cool!!

  • ...wow, thats all I can really say! Its amazing really!

  • theres nothing important about image.People should treasure others for who they are inside.

  • you're absolutely right and the sad thing about it is that thats never going to change. Its a huge problem facing girls today, and its really a hard task to teach young women to value themselves when this kind of crap is floating around.

  • sad

  • but she was beautiful to begin with...

  • agree

  • lol. does that girl know that they change her pic thru photoshop? i'd b pissed if they did that to my face. thats like a slap to the face, lol.

  • yeah they do tell her but that does not matter to the girl cuse shes getting paid to do this , and for a model pictures have to sell.

  • <333

  • I must comment again!! I love the music and the way this has been edited very, very good video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its a bit unfair to those who have the looks...hhmmmm...watta FAKE!

  • It's a shame alot of young girls look at magazine photos like they're the real macoy......maybe magazines need to start putting in before & after shots of cover shots. But then, those that worship these images need to stop dreaming & face reality and that is God made us all beautiful & special.

  • well girls grow up thinking they're meant to look like that. eveery girl i know thinks they're ugly, and they're not!!

  • i agree with u 100%

  • sick.

  • wow..

  • Media projects a beauty is far beyond the norm and is trying to set a standard for the American women of today. That beauty is merely to be admired but not something to "cookie-cut" or even feel less attractive from our natural beauty.

  • amazing!!

  • ...and by using it as a means of promoting themselves as a campaign for real beauty (when in fact they sell soap and moisturiser), Dove are as bad as the cosmetics companies they criticise.

  • How?

What they're doing is showing that those images we see aren't real. People don't actually look like that and it's insane to beat yourself up over not being 'that pretty'. How is that as bad as the companies they criticize?

  • too bad they can't do plastic surgery that well, make it realistic without looking like michael jacko

  • wow...

  • it's weird... everyone knows that beauty in the media is not real, but nevertheless we perceive it as ideal

  • what's the name of the song ??

  • Now you know the truth about magazine supermodels. THEY'RE NOT REAL!

  • Just goes to show how ridiculous society has become.

  • Nothing is as it seems.

  • The perception of beauty has always been distorted. Corsets, lead powder, radium, they've all been used to make women look "more attractive" over the ages, this isn't a new problem, and it's not one that will go away. The size zero debate is the next big step in "beauty".

  • Augh! Her eyes look freaky in the end.

  • wow she was beautiful to begin with this just goes to show how the media influences the way we think about ourselfs...This is just wrong

  • genius

  • ahhhhh! that is soo messed up.

  • all women love fake

  • HOLLYYYYY CRAP... that was brillant!... just makes u wonder what they could do to girls that are already as hot as the photoshopped girl without them wearing makeup

  • guess what? i don't think that God made girls as beautiful as the photoshopped girls without makeup
