@Duklum Rachmaninoff's music is academic music, but classical. the classical term only applies to a period and so if you do not incur an error. The roots of music are endless and we can not ignore the Middle East as a source that Europe joins his music.
@Duklum wow. an actual answer. I'm as thankful as I am impressed!
Well, out of personal interest and curiosity; Am i correct to say that impressionism is a period wherein romance is tried to be revived? I know 'for a fact' (whatever that may be, epistemologically speaking..) that Debussy belongs to the impressionistic period, but his infamous Claire de Lune is said to resemble more that of a romantic composition than an impressionistic one.
@Duklum What is it that defines those three periods/styles? I'm a veteran when it comes to music like that of Chopin, Scrjabin, Beethoven, Bach and Debussy, but I have never taken any time as to understand those streams and why a piece would belong to any of those and not the other.
Regards from Render Area. It was a surprise find out this video that we made more than 4 years ago for Café del Mar. Was an exciting challenge were we inovated 3D animation techniques to that year. It was a pleasure had worked with Café del Mar.

I used to watch this video when I was living the worst moment of my life, it would bring me so much peace and hope. Life in a way is like that, you have to fulfill all the challenges before reaching glory, music is glory and it's at the end of the tunnel. As quique2310 said, it touches "that small part where heart and soul are are bounded" Now it's cloudy, windy and raining and the melody came from my mind to that small part...One of those days when only soul and heart dive in the ocean of music
I have seen the two first parts and I don´t see anything related to this video and symbology. Could you send me a private e-mail explaining me about it, please?
@Silverbluecrest I agree on that, it's beyond cheesy, the narrative is that the figure unlocks things through puzzles as a classical way (maze) of opening a gate to heaven. but when he eventual unlocks everything a cover of the cafe del mar CD shows up....
This is a true masterpiece. The original Satie production has plucked at the heart strings for a century and great re-invention like this will ensure that this work will fire emotions for a century to come.Buy a Satie album, lights out, draw the curtains and sleep in a sea of emotion. A genius
The music is great of course but does anyone know who produced this amazing video? And are there any more examples of their work on the internet/YouTube?
I think the video is awesome. I find the piano and the other effects sound good on their own, but I don't particularly like the combination. I love the original because it is so subtle and moving. I agree with quique2310 who says the piano melody touches the innermost and most senstive part of me, that small part where heart and soul are bounded...
Wow! Fantastic you brought this version of Satie into the Space age while keeping it intact. I will look for cafe del Mar's music. Thank you for sharing.

harmonieux, melodieux suivi de la creation musicale, inspirante de satie. Merci, votre composition est tres jolie, du plaisir que le tout procure vous etes de tres grands reveurs du beau.
Eh, no. Satie is classical. This 'interpretation' (it's actually quite hard to recognize the original in this song) is avant-garde. Listen to the original, although innovative, it's definitely classical.
@Gyuki12 You must not have very good ears for music. How can you say it is hard to recognize? This is obviously Satie and it is not avant -garde in the least bit. Just because there are elements of electronic music, there are classical arrangements contained within the piece. Learn a little about music and art genres before commenting on them please.
let me know, I'll jump on the plane with ya! Ibiza is one of those locations one really SHOULD visit ONCE in life...and may you be the only 80ry old among the dancing crowd! at least you didnt miss out.
Sorry, i do not undestand what the purpose of this. But If it's a commercial, well, it's a good one ! (And Erik Satie made many others beautiful melodies.)

@Duklum No no..clasical music is Mozart!!!! Bach is barroque.. Beethoven is romantic. All these musicians belong to the circle of academic music.

Surrealism was Avant Garde when it was new.
Now that it's old it cannot be, by that very fact, Avant Garde.
Avant Garde is "cutting edge" ................ vanguard.
