One day when my children ask me, if my dad ever talked about what it was like, I will be able to show them the videos I made from his personal effects and letters. It will give them a good idea of some of the experiences I think.
I have planned at least 6 to 12 episodes and will need to work on my editing a bit more. I will eventually get it all right though.
Thanks so much for the great support you have shown me. :o)
I plan on making a 6 to 12 part series. Who knows, maybe this will be the start of something that many people will do to honor the world war 2 generation. Wouldn't that be something? :o)
Such a beautiful heartwarming tribute for "Friends & Comrade's" Stewart....the music from Danny Boy bought tears to me, and treasured memories, it was my Dad's favorite song and my son's name is Danny .....I will certainly be remembering all those who lost their lives to the atrocity of war....lets never forget their sacrifice....
The song also brings back memories of my family. I went through 100 different versions of "Danny Boy" before I settled on these 2. I might re-edit the video a bit so that there is less hurry and more connection to the story. Thanks again. :o)
This is a beautiful tribute, Stewart. I have been cahtting with so many wwII vets, and hearing their true feeling about their experiences. Years ago they had to be tuff + save face. Well as these gents aged + melloed a bit, they begin to open their hearts. They were so glad that they were home and share now some of the things these dear man went through. Pleace, say NO to war. wake up. Peace and Love is soooo much better, don't you think??? : -) Friend I just stop if I need more time to read:)
This series was created using my fathers personal effects and letters from WW2. The stories are real and at times difficult to put together because of the empathy felt from those moments. But there is also the need to get things perfect so I will probably redo them for next year, and release a 6 to 12 part series in order of the episode.
Very Well Done..and Yes One shouldn't Ever 4get what these Men And Women Have Sacrificed For All Of Us:).Thank you for posting Stewart!!.a letter from home can make a big difference........
Oh Stewart, this was so awesome. It made me cry. Thank you for sharing this. Jo

Harry Berry was my fathers friend. He is also the Harry that monica talks of in Part 3.
There is a picture of Monica and her mother in this episode. They lived in Leeds.
