There was a problem with this venue, and indeed many venues, that the monitors weren't working. I used to be a sound engineer, and many of my fellow engineers don't take kids or "chick singers" seriously, and don't spend the time getting the monitors right. It's hard to stay on key when you can't hear yourself! I mentioned this to the folks from the school, and the shows later that year had working monitors and great results. Check out the Queen videos.
