That thing looks like CRAP compared to iPad! The touchscreen was barely responsive, the look sucks and what was that the guy said about it being the #3 best or most interesting thing at CES 2011. If that's #3, their standards must not be very high!

Oh god people, stop comparing it to an ipad, this is not something you'd take along with you outside you're house. Its just an UBER alarm clock kind of device. Which I think is awesome. I also own an ipad, so its not something you'd compare to each other, and ipad depends on a computer, the Sony Dash is a much more independent device. Imagine waking up to an alarm, tap the screen to turn it off, and when you look at it, you can see the weather and how many emails you have.

This is a great idea...but the design didnt kick like I think it should have.

Personally the Dash should have been thin like the ipad but also have a stand or dock for its resting spot. That way its practical to use elsewhere besides on a table.

Sorry Sony, ill stick to your camcorders/cameras and TV's. Dosent seem like you have anything else im a fan of. As for the Dash, maybe if it was $120 or less id buy it for kicks. Otherwise ill stick to ipod touch as my personal Internet device.

i like it and i might buy one! 199.00 isnt bad! but if u have an imac or ipod touch or or an phone ur not worried about things loading up fast, cause it take less than a second to load up but thats more or less compared to the imac computer, but for 199.00 still isnt bad, but if it was 99.99 i would of brought it no problem for an internet app clock!!

Confirmed, this device has offline mode so you can watch your movies or listen to your MP3 library. What I really like about Sony electronic portable products for MP3 and MP4 video is the quality of sound and video, I hope this device isn't an exception and will receive great audio/video drivers for a nice multimedia experience.

Okay a friend sent me this video as everyone at work has been taking shot at me since my purchase of my 13 inch MacBook later year (for iPod Dev). I WAS going to get an iPad, but after release date, I thought - "I can't install programs only apps, no built-in camera. I'll pass". This Dash does ONE, okay THREE things the PSP 1000 does not do - alarm clock, youtube or cellphone calls (thought it CAN do video internet calls).

@warrengonline Sony NEEDS to links all of their devices together. This device would be AWESOME if it could ACCESS my PS3 via wifi (remote into it) and I can watch movies that are on my system (even the BluRay or DVD in the tray). The Dash has features I want for a desktop 'clock'. For $200, I do like it, but at the same time it is almost that of a PSP Handheld system. I have an iPod and it is nice, awesome to a point (when your battery dies - no battery replacement - fund USB!). I wait.
