  • 5 stars & fav'd!

  • I'm directly related to him

  • @AmericanBlackShirt

His brother Edward fought to keep any mention of abolishing the South's "peculiar institution" OUT of the Declaration of Independence. For the sake of unanimity, and of getting Rutledge and his followers on board, Jefferson agreed to strike any reference to freeing African Americans from the final draft.

  • @joekhyser

I may not agree with his positions, but he still fought for America.

  • woot woot.

    my last name is rutledge.

  • You should read the book - Mr. Rutledge of South Carolina by Richard Barry, published by Duell, Sloan and Pearce: New York (1942).

  • Sounds good. I'll have to check that out.

  • new york??? its probably full of imperial lies

  • There is quite a contrast to the Heroic Patriots that served in our government during the First American Revolution, and the fat cats who lounge about in the Federal Government now!

For the sake of our Children, we must be Free of the Federal Beast!

    Deo Vindice!

  • There sure is - the folks running DC now are only "civil servants" in most remote sense of the word. It's about time to put them all out of business! Thanks for your support, Live414.

  • This is goin' to be another great series "RedShirtArmy". Great work!

  • long live South Carolina! 5/5 stars!

  • I don't think the American Revolution would've have happened without the influence of the Scots-Irish, or Ulster Scots.

One day we'll get to kidnap the whole congress and grows lots of potatos somewhere on a plantation your way - ha ha.

  • Hello RSA. What a fascinating episode of American history. I dare say John would make quick business of these wreckers haters and traitors bringing the house down today. I even get a(however brief and incomplete) sense of understanding of the corruptive ideas with the feds beginnings. It's like a resurgence of the bullshit they tried to leave behind in England, or something of that nature anyway. . . .

  • You're exactly right, BurgerWisdom. The Federalists represented more or less the exact sort of centralism and Big Government intrusion they had tried to free themselves from. From Hamilton to Lincoln, individuals of that thinking supported the business interests that have opposed us time and time again and got us in the situation we face today. By the way, thanks for your support!

  • Hope y'all enjoy this video. It's the first in an upcoming series from SLMNews focusing on the 'Greatest Southron Heroes; - primarily the lesser known but bravest patriots of our homeland - Dixie. Take care & Deo Vindice!
