can people, especially 'wealthy' music people not have a whip around and ease this man's finacial situation, he's never had a hit song and therefore is always struggling.
yet he has produced some of the greatest music ever put out there, and is covered by the biggest and greatest names in the world of music.
FUND him and give him breathing space, too not only continue, but to feel the reward of his beautiful hardwork!!!
Wow .. no body mentioins Jools almost slipping right at 9 seconds.. he loses his footing on a wire or something .... of course Ron is so brilliant . cant wait til April 1st he is playing here !! Vancouver BC
@beaulieu4008 I can kind of see what you're saying. I love both and personally feel they are quite distinct, BUT they definitely both have a certain, haunting quality. Roy more ghostly, Ron more earthly, but yeah.

Why do people rave about this guy. Lyrically inept; soundbites and platitudes. Throw him in the bin and listen to Bill Callahan or David Berman. This guy has not got it!
a lot of people act like teenagers don't like this music. i'm fourteen years old and i love ron sexsmith. :] i met him when i was six when he played with lucinda williams. my first concert ever!
Just fantastic What a voice !

Why is Jools Holland playing a different song?
omoo22 2 years ago
LOL LOL

i think his playing is terrific BUT only if there was a bass and a drumkit also playing on that version (maybe also a soothing rhythm guitar)
jools' part is complimentary and respective of ron's vocals, but it sounds out of place with only ron's guitar playing with it

Jools is normally too flashy, but he's good background here I think.
Ron is a God

better with no piano? probably.. but Jools is pretty good given there are probably only a few hours to learn the songs

I agree, Jason. Even great musicians forget to listen, sometimes. Maybe the mix coulda been better.

As usual, Jools Holland's faux New Orleans clunky piano playing gets in the way of a beautiful performance.
