how did the sock mod mess up your drum set?

well i have an SL model drum set, and the mod is only for QMs. But from what I heard the SL is exactly the same as the QM except for a serial number detail, but to still be careful when using the mod. I still have the socks on my red and green, but they were really screwing up my blue and yellow to the point where i was completely missing hits.

I see. I was asking because I have the sock mod on my drums and it has done nothing but help me. But I also have a QM set.
