A non believer will only be convinced that perhaps God is at work if someone amazingly starts to speak a known language that they have never learned. This would be solid evidence as a sign or miracle.

However, jumping around and making silly noises is hardly a sign and can be imitated by anybody. So easily forged is the tongues today. A believer in an almighty God would expect he is so much more capable of revelation than this lunacy.

John is really picking and choosing what he defines as the true gift of tongues. Originally it was when tongue was singular, it was gibberish, except in this passage. He then goes on to claim that the KJV is wrong at 8:45. If you are going to preach and then claim that the Bible is wrong when it contradicts a premise you made up, you are preaching your own word not God's Word.
