His objective was causing torment, making him agonize over the constant threat of Venom to -every- aspect of his life, making him feel completely powerless and vulnerable. THIS is what was missing in Spiderman 3.

I liked Spider-Man 3 right up to the point where Venom said "I" at which point the movie was ruined. It wasn't even a one time slip up, Venom in the movie NEVER refereed to himself in the plural, or referred to Eddie and the Symbiont in the 3rd person. Hell the word "Venom" was never uttered, the closest was the line "Revenge is like a poison" to be honest, compared to that killing Eddie wasn't as big a deal, since Mac Gargan could be brought in to replace him like in the comics.

@Perion Yeah true he didn't even true even say we are poison to Spiderman we are venom! That wouldve been a cool line how hard would that be just for him to say that one line. The main problem with the movie was venom was barely in it they shouldve held off on putting Venom in it until Spiderman 4. Towards the end of Spiderman 3 Peter and Venom shouldve fought and then Venom couldve went to the Bugle and revealed that Peter is spiderman just like in episode 20 of spectacular spiderman.

@doleczki its never shown in the animated series but apparently in the comics all symbiotes need a chemical to survive that is commonly found in human brain tissue.... or chocolate :D and venom found that out and that's why venom and toxin force their hosts to go steal chocolate sometimes because not even the symbiotes like the taste of brain hope that answered your  question :)

Man this Spider Man series was the best ever! This series had many awesome villains. But I'd say Venom is my most favorite. He looks and is very bad ass and powerful! One on one, he would beat the daylights out of any of the other Spider man villains! Heck he could probably beat the entire insidious seven(including both vulture and Mysterio)! I would have loved to have seen him kick Kingpin's ass in this episode.

Every Spider-Man movie was about saving Mary Jane in the end. The cast of the movie was pretty good, James Franco was a sick Harry Osborne, but Sam Raimi f****d up bad.
