  • Love it.

  • "Remove before flight" Nice

  • I like the part where one of the rider's got surprised by that large flying bird.....pretty funny.....nothing like that has happened to me while riding my motorcycles. There's another video on youtube with a rider hit a deer but kept his balance and kept on riding. My brother also ran over a deer, but he was thrown off the bike. No videos though. It was quite a long time ago, so I don't think they had video cameras small enough for vlogging at the time.....

  • 3:39 future witer

  • lol, love this video. will definitely have to keep these in mind when I finally get my bike, though some can also effect my bicycle vlogs as well.

  • @chasein3d Thanks man, I've actually got about half the footage needed for the sequel to this video...prolly post it closer to the end of summer.. I appreciate the comment

  • @billmaa oh sweet, cant wait for the sequel !

  • Haha, I relate to alot in your videos. The singing in the helmet, the one that got away, (Ducati-dream-woman), and talking to yourself, and the joy of finding places you never ridden before. And the how to pack- videos were great, all though I live and ride in Norway, so we have a bit more to consider regarding clothing and stuff like that. Going on a three-week ride up north next week, hobo-style. Can`t wait. Thanx for the input, great that guys like you make an effort.

  • this is a random question but what is the little bottle thing on the handlebars? im only 15 so dnt blame me if its a dumb question lol

  • @kawasakipride27 No worries, it's the front brake fluid reservoir

  • @billmaa oh ok thanx man

  • So funny dude. I'm actually thinking of doing something like this. Yes, that's right, you inspired me. I wouldn't do it for money though, just for fun. BTW, Jabba joke? Awesome!

    Thanks for the comment

  • hehe well done billy

  • Thanks my friend..

  • im sorry but i dont get why you are always riding different bikes???

  • No worries, I can see how that would be confusing to a new viewer...the answer is I simply own a few different motos..

  • wow cool!

  • i've gotta say that this is one of my more favorite videos by you....its hilarious

  • Thanks Polly,

I think it's one of my favorites as well..=)

  • I still don't know how they do it, but bugs always seem to get into the ear compartments and want to crawl into my ear canals. I have to resist the urge to stop on the highway and dig up under my helmet while they go all "Wrath of Khan" on me. That's Iowa though...

  • Lol, thats hilarious that you did the Wrath of Khan reference..I've used it a few times in conversation and it always flies right over the head of people...Haha, another scene that seems to have the same effect is the tree trunk bit in Flash Gordon..The first bug bit was actually shot in Iowa..albeit just over the border..

  • Epic Billy, you're the best!

  • Aww, Shucks Matt,

    You're going make me blush..Haha

  • Great vid man. Funny as heck too.

  • Thanks Lex..I had good time digging thru this footage..

  • awesome video, very funny :D

  • Hey thank you, I had fun putting this one together..

  • You sure do have lots of motorcycles

  • Lol, I've had a few

  • Excellent vid Bill, one of the funniest i`ve seen

  • Thanks woollyback, I really appreciate you saying that

  • Nice background music, took two views to figure out what it was!

  • I add way too much music =)

  • Bahahaha.. there's a rendering plant right on the edge of Camp Swift where I did my pre-mob training, so I totally know that foul stench.

The helmet thing still makes me laugh.. I can't help but crack up when Tracy about loses it with his face shield.. :) Seekhelmet will ride again... just not until I go home on R&R. :P

FYI, you're the only vlogger for whom I stay up an hour later just to watch the most recent vid.. because seriously, that's how long it took to load (SniperHill sucks).

  • yeah, watching Tracy was funny but your reaction had me rolling! :D

  • That's a smell you can sometimes taste..Lol..I think what makes me laugh the most about that clip was that we both were just spectators in Tracy's tantrum..the only thing that could've made it better would've been all of us helmet camin' it a that time..=)

  • I think with Tracy, all anyone can ever do is really be a spectator.. sometimes it's just too much work to talk him out of a tantrum. LOL

And yeah, if all three of us had helmet cams, that would've been the most hilarious vlog ever...

  • /Cartman Screw you guys!

Glad I could provide entertainment! :) All in the name of a great vlog!

  • Haha, I'm glad you could help me out bro..=)

  • ahaha awesome editing man!...thanks for puttin it together, who's that kid?

  • Thanks dude...that's my son..

  • very cute! hopefully, he'll be a vlogger some day!!

  • very cool vid... i did one like it but way less edited...haha. its real amateur... lol. very nice billy

  • Coolness , Thanks man...which vid was it?

  • My list did not have the dog food container! I am glad I watched all the way to the end! Thanks!

  • Lol, apparently I didn't know about it either until it became a reality for me..hahaha

  • I'm definitely nominating this video at the next Vlogger Motorcycle Awards (VMAs)

  • Haha, I laughed enough to almost spit up my coffee..Thanks so much..

  • Love this video billmaa. question: wat is the equipment your using been thinking about vlogging and wanted to get some good equipment

  • Hey Hunter, thanks for the comment..I use the Kodak V570 (for inside helmet stuff)...same one Rebelyell, Zmagic, DJcipster, Vanfly use...but unfortunately the don't make them anymore..I'm moving to a Creative Vado HD in a few videos..if your interested, go to Dumbduck44's page and watch his cam reviews..good stuff..and let him know I sent you..we vloggers have to stick together =)..

  • The bird at the start. My friend got taken out by a duck. He had his hand cut off and his neck broken. He wasn't wearing a helmet. He was told by doctors that if he had been wearing a helmet he would have died. They stitched his hand back on and his neck healed.....and he still rides.

  • The doctor implied that the added weight of the helmet would have increased the severity of the injuries to fatal then? Am I understanding correctly? Because many cruiser riders in the states essentially say the same thing when objecting to FF helmets. They say that the added weight of FF helmets will snap ur neck in the event of a crash. However, this has never been borne out by any study. I'd be interested if the doctor in question rides a MC or not. Dr's can make silly statements sometimes.

  • wow, i never knew about this, i use a FF helmet on my cruiser, it just seems safer than a half helmet, i wonder now what really is the best?

  • RP - The added 'weight' of a ANY helmet, is commonly used by the "I don't wanna wear a helmet" crowd to make the tenuous argument that a FF helmet will "protect" ur head but "break" ur neck in a crash. Of course this logic may have a small bit of truth to it in very high energy crash situations. However, anyone who has ever looked at MC racing can see, that this argument is utter BS (imho). Cruiser folks just don't watch racing I guess, because this argument only convinces the uninformed :-o

  • I wouldn't say it's utter BS......I'd just say that it's only a very small percentage of crashes where you'd be better off without a helmet......but those kinds of crashes do happen.

  • I, as well as u too I'm sure, can disregard the small percentage argument. If I'm gonna have a get-off regardless of the situation, I'd prefer having it with a helmet on. Every time I see helmet-less riders I always get the mental picture of watermelons being dropped on the floor *heheh* ;-)

  • mental picture of watermelons being dropped ....... lol......... that works for me ;-)

  • btw, helmets keep getting lighter all the time with all the modern materials they're beginning to use more commonly now. They will eventually become more widely affordable. So the weight issue is increasingly becoming less relevant to most thoughtful observers.

Hell, back in the 70's those guys wore some weird looking Bell helmets that must have weighed way more than what u typically can buy today :-)

  • I have to agree M13, I had a cousin who was killed in a car accident because of his seat belt..statistically, he was doing the right thing..but there can be bad luck situations that just border on "freak accidents"

  • Friend of mine was the only person to wear his seatbelt in a car of 5 people. The car got rolled. Everyone was fine except for him and he had a broken back.

  • That is a very similar story to what happened to my cousin. The car rolled, and the roof was crushed to hood line. He was the only one who couldn't duck into the remaining part of the cabin.

  • I understand the point both u & M are making but nobody ever said that "safety" equipment is 100% effective in ALL possible situations. Life just doesn't work that way - there are no guarantees ;-)

But your CHANCES are better 1 way than the other. People die doing dangerous things all the time, the equipment was developed in response to people tending to have certain injuries or fatalities repeatedly. Smart people look at the patterns & try to come up with solutions to MITIGATE not stop :-)

  • Back in the early 90s the AMA or MSF ( I can't remember which) would put ads in the motorcycle publications that should show a boogered up helmet with the caption that read "Kevin Schwanz wears one...do you think you are better rider than him?" those ads really worked on me when I was a brand new rider

  • How did he lose his hand, because of the duck ? Seriously?

  • He lost it in the crash.....duck hit him in the chest and knocked him off his bike. His body was thrown around and the force of his head whipping back and forth caused his neck to break. The extra weight of a helmet would have made it worse.

  • M, the guy lost his hand in the crash, plus the birdstrike sounds like it occured at high speed too. Sounds to me like there was enough energy in the crash to cause significant injuries helmet or no helmet. Did this poor fellow have head injuries apart from the broken neck? Seems to me like he probably did.

Thanks for the further details btw :-)

  • This video spawned from two different ideas, from the turkey vulture incident, I wanted to do a serious dangers of motorcycling vid. I hit one about 4 years ago on my R1, I was traveling a good 30mph faster than I was here..it took my mirror & corner of my upper clean off the bike, brushed me enough crush my cell phone & knock my car keys from my pocket. It was pretty scary & I got lucky. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough "real" danger footage to make a entire vid, so it morphed to this

  • It's still good tho =)

  • That was awesome!!!

  • Thank you...it's fun to take a bunch of throw away footage and actually make something outta it.

  • I laughed. Then I studied it. Then I laughed some more. Amateur shaka really made me lmao.

  • Thanks Reload for getting the Shaka...peeps thought I said "the shocker"

  • Very nice one, Bill.

Corn field, cows, dog shit i mean food plant, welcome to huskers land. lol

  • Hahah, you know it bro..Thank you..

  • haha I loved the singing! This is a really great video Billy. :D

  • Lol, I hate the singing..but it's a danger we must be aware can happen to a vlogger. =) Thanks for comment Joe..

    Billy

  • 5 stars! If you could bring to people's attention #'s 811, 492 and 985, it would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

  • Hahah..those are some heavy ones BB..we'll have to address those and #877 too =)

  • Steelhorseclub is def guilt of the "too much glove" danger. (:

Great Great video. this should be featured (:

  • That was kinda of my secret SHC tribute =) Thank you for your kind words Rebel..I actually had quite a bit of fun making this vid..

    Take care,

    Billy

  • Great video top quality. Better than almost anything I've seen any motovlogger do.

  • Wow, that really means alot coming from you. I was pretty excited to post this vid

    Thanks for commenting,

    Billy

  • He's quite right Billy. In fact imho, it's better than just about everything I've ever seen motovloggers do (including M13). I didn't wanna point that out because it can demoralize some folks. Let me explain tho. Remember what I was saying about having a piece loaded with solid content & tightly edited. This vid shows off both my points remarkably well. While watching it I remember thinking "he must have spent forever just finding these snippets of funnies" ;-)

  • Thank BTV, I'm really not worthy of such high praise..this vid evolved from two ideas..first was a serious dangers of motorcycling video..and second was just an excuse to show my son in his gear...I was in the process of transferring all my footage to a different computer and I just played with it when I had nothing else..it was not actually supposed to be made, but when I realized it was in format that could be successfully sequeled. I did the voiceover and posted it as you see here..lol

  • Most good things start off as simple ideas in the minds of capable people. I understand your wish to be modest, I can appreciate that. However, I merely offered my honest opinion with my reason for having it. Obviously, others may hold a different view, but nevertheless, my view doesn't change & I'm usually not wrong ;-)

Plus humility is a virtue that I can certainly respect :-)

btw, I don't usually throw out compliments just because, there's usually a legit reason for it ;-)

  • Well I sincerely thank you for your kind words

  • I'm glad to see these kinds of vids being released tho, because it proves just what is possible with what is essentially only a bit more care & attention to detail in post production. But like I said b4 most motovloggers could use some help with editing anyway. I think folks should think of motovlogging as also being a form of documentary film making. You can bring all of those skills to bear on short vids & thus have incredible results to show for it...

  • ... As happened here with this vid. This is only the beginning ;-)
