  • Uaz31, what will your story be on 5/22/11, if there's no rapture? You will set a different date, and downplay the fact that you set that one, right? That's what I meant - years ago, it was the same old story, just with earlier dates.

I'm not saying date-setters killed anyone directly - just that millions are dead because of the indifference to the physical world that follows from what they teach. Christians paradoxically have the potential to do a lot of good, but because of this, they don't.

  • Well I would know the date was wrong but that doesn't change the fact that we are in the very last days of this world. There is very strong evidence from the Bible that this date is correct.

We are called to be watchers of His coming not ignorant, He will come as a thief in the night for those who are not elect of God.

God's elect just need to know that we are there and the time is nigh. We dont need to do anything drastic, we just need to know its time. God has a very percise timetable.

  • Uaz31 - after what year would you say you had been wrong about us having been in "the very last days"? Were people wrong, when they said it 1000 years ago? Will you have been wrong, if 1000 years from now there's still no rapture? 500? 200? 100? 10? 5?...

"Last days" means absolutely nothing, if it can't be quantified. Those I know who believe it, believe it to the point that they think their own lives will be cut short - but of course they still can't come up with such a number for me.

  • I already answered your question. After what day of the months of a literal Hell on Earth will you say you were wrong about God bringing judgment?

God in His word the Bible speaks of the fig tree leafing, which is referring to Israel becoming a nation again and that within one generation the end of the world so we are definately within the last 10 years.

I do believe this date of May 21, 2011 followed by the literal 5months of Hell on Earth then the end of the Universe is a very solid date

  • You hadn't answered the question before, but you did now. 10 years, definitely.

So - 10 years ago, was Harold camping answering "20 years" to this question, or is it a rolling, perpetual, 10 years from the date the question is asked (which would be dishonest).

A simple Googling of his name reveals that he said - in 1992: "The results of this study indicate that the month of September of the year 1994 is to be the time for the end of history."

Do you stand by those words?

  • Alright, Uaz31, I see that Camping (apparently) only meant 1994 was the end of the church age. (Which means "history", I guess. We must have missed it. I don't know of anyone who says they noticed any changes.)

I guess I don't know enough about him yet, but I do find it very odd that (apparently) few or none outside his organization agree with him.

  • The results of that study in the book, "1994?", were not indicating 1994 as the last day it was only suggested it could be, thus the question mark after 1994. Later studies have shown that date as still being significant for the end of the church age.

What I like about Mr. Campings teachings is the adherence to the Bible, comparing scripture with scripture and instructing people to study the Bible for themselves.

  • Familyradio dott comm for a great Bibical resource and timeline for the last days.

  • Great story... Warmer Climates in Northern America are said to be responsible for the plague/fungus type of parasite which is wiping out many fish species in the Great Lakes.

  • Familyradio dott comm for great Bibical resource and timeline for the rapture as May 21 2011 and the end of time Oct 21 2011.

  • Uaz31, I've been around enough to witness many such sure-fire predictions be made and then not come to pass.

    What's different this time?

What were these people saying 10, 20, 30 years ago?

Literally tens of millions are dead because Christians had the attitude that any attempt to do good on this earth would just be a waste of time, because Jesus was coming so soon, anyway.

You guys do MUCH more harm than good with these speculations.

Get Wilson's "Armageddon Now!" on Amazon.

  • "What's different this time?

What were these people saying 10, 20, 30 years ago? "

Same thing we have always been saying and everyone knows, that the world is going to come to an end. Hell, even the secular astro physicists believe the world will end we just believe it is alot sooner than billions of years.

  • "Literally tens of millions are dead because Christians had the attitude that any attempt to do good on this earth would just be a waste of time, because Jesus was coming so soon, anyway."

Thats a bunch of bull and you know it. If you knew anything about Christianity you would know that we worship God the creator of life not death.

If any "Christian" had the ideology your mentioning then they are not Christian. Besides its God who does any "good", not mankind.

  • Get Harold Camping's "Where almost there!" Its free and you can even read it online if u wish at familyradio dott comm
