Hitler took Austria all at once. It was part of Czechlosovokia that was given to Germany, then months later he just took the rest. And with the Swiss situation they had the advantages in defensive terrain. German tanks would be useless and aircraft use would be limited. Without that the Swiss would hold the upper hand

You're right. Every single family in Switzerland is compulsory military trained and keeps a military weapon in their home. Their bridges have things that look like manhole covers, but they're not manhole covers... they are demolition points to place explosives to blow up every bridge in the country if they were invaded. An invading force would have virtually 100% of the population putting up resistance, and ground movement of an invading army would be almost impossible.
