  • Protest against useless copy protections now by uploading your content that is copy protected now.

All that copy protection does is to cause trouble for legal consumers and makes the price higher too, it costs money to copy protect the content -.-'

  • that isn't ever going to happen, Digital rights management (DRM) are used by hardware manufacturers, publishers, copyright holders and individuals with the intent to limit the use of digital content and devices after sale. and other then its intended use. DRM is necessary to fight copyright infringement online and that it can help the copyright holder maintain artistic control legally. I have a VCR for sale along with an 8 track you interested?

    &what ru thinking?

  • @jsJavaScript "DRM is necessary"

    Hell no !

Are you really this stupid ?

DRM and DMCA IS the problem.

FYI DRM doesn't prevent copying of the content at all, you can even remove the drm

DMCA was explicitly made to make the companies stop whining (didn't work)

When DMCA was made they didn't consider the legal consumers at all, that's how little big greedy companies care about their consumer !

All they care about is money

  • @labobo you are aware by pointing out my stupidity does not make your argument valid or even pertinent in a court of law. a DRM is legally and comparably like a lock on the front door of your house, are you getting this?

I would hope you wouldn't want anyone breaking into your house to steal anything that was yours ~! You might be aware that the DVDs (or Bluray disks) you buy are encrypted. All of the video and audio on these disks are coded using a "key" I'm NOT in favor of SOPA or PIPA but.

  • @jsJavaScript Funny thing is a house is a physical thing while the content on a disc is not

The term "breaking in" doesnt really apply or make sense

All you do is converting it from one format to another

You can also make a copy that preserves the original protection. Since nearly all video players support the protection now it really doesn't matter if you remove it or not. At least for computers.

For portable devices that are manufactured as cheap as possible will not support this originally.

  • Great vid, it should be ok already. Money hungry assholes who make everyday people into criminals.

  • I honestly had no idea this wasn't already OK.

  • i agree
