  • I'm surprised how many comment in favor of backmarkers unlapping themselves on a leader who's being held up by another backmarker. When you are leading a race, you aren't going to risk as much because you don't want to take yourself and the idiot backmarker off the circuit. So you suffer the slow defensive driving and instead of the idiot backmarker losing a second letting you through, you all lose 10 or 15 seconds while you try to force your way past... very unprofessional.

  • Believe me if you're leading a race and you get held up by jagoff backmarkers who won't let you through, you will want to punch them as well. "See that blue flag? It's for you, so GTFO of the way!" In today's F1 both backmarkers would get drive-through penalties for holding up the leader like this - disgusting.

  • This is the 1st time i seen this interview, I am a massive Senna fan, but dont totally agree with him. Irvine did let Senna pass initially, but then senna failed to catch Hill, who Irvine was racing with and was pulling away from Senna and Irvine, So what could Irvine do, He had the speed to re-take Senna and he did, His Race was with Hill and not Senna, Anyway Senna didn't need to overtake Irvine Or Hill he had the win in the bag. People forget this was Irvine's 1st race in F1 with Jordan.

  • He's upset because he's a competitive guy. But he'd have done the same thing.

  • @zicomagic no

  • Having seen the footage of what happened on track, I am firmly with Eddie on this one, he let senna thru then Senna just sat there slowing him down when needed to catch and pass Damon, and to make it worse Senna wasn't getting close enough to Damon for Damon to have to yield, Eddie was 100% right to get past Senna to carry on with his race, because compared with Damon and Eddie Senna was cruising. Pity we don't have characters like this in Formula One anymore though.

  • I don't understand why Senna Is irated with Irvine. The irish was running for his position? In this case it is right that he try to overtake Senna dn Hill

  • @Gamereo thing is, Irvine unlapped himself from Senna and stayed ahead of him for a while while fighting with Hill for 6th, and in the process he blocked Senna and risked putting both himself and Senna out of the race for many times. No wonder why Senna had lost the plot.

  • Ya...post the video again and again...

  • good man eddie irvine, showed senna up big time

  • Despite their tense rivalry, both drivers had a great amount of respect for each other. Of course there were certain moments where they felt differently, like Japan 1990 for Prost and then leaving the team, and Senna getting vetoed by Prost to join Williams for 1993, but they both knew they were fighting with one of the best F1 drivers of all time.

  • Totally right..... Since Ayrton and Alain knew each other were the guy to beat, and they were the best at the time, Ayrton showed not only respect, but in fact He's telling people that "Alain is a winner". Some weeks later, the same would happen again when Ayrton and Alain came 1st and 2nd again in Adelaide, and Ayrton showed real dignity and respect to Prost, as Alain showed to him as well..... They were different guys, but both were guys that were born to win, that's the real fact....

  • Senna showing great respect for Alain Prost here.

  • Alain Prost

  • Who was Senna talking about at 3:15, I didnt catch the name...
