All that oil is sitting in it's refineries waiting for all of the negative attention and accusations of the war in Iraq being an Oil war to slowly fade away. As Oil and the products it yields (Petroluem Fuels) is THE MOST important resource in this country, we are essentially leaving the Aeorta of this country exposed, because the only thing other countries would have to do is create an oil embargo, and the US would come to a grinding halt.

The reason fuel prices have been escalating is due to the fact we are only allocating resources from already harvested petroleum.
