I watched X-Men First Class twice and loved it both times. While I know there were flaws, I genuinely liked it. I also saw Pirates 4 and is a close second behind the first PotC movie as my favorite.
X-Men is definitely going to be the best movie of the summer, I don't understand why it's not selling as well. Come on, Wolverine opened with more? Another thing I have to say is I don't get all the hate for the new Pirates movie. I think it's the second best of the series.
X-Men was the best movie this summer. Definitely. Loved it. I see it having a Batman path. Yeah, it grosses $150 million. But the DVD and word of mouth will mean the X-Men franchise comes back. I actually agree with Fox, this a muted opening, but the film is so good, it gets me and a lot of people excited for X-Men again.
X-Men and Super 8 are the best movies so far this year.
Hangover 2 and Pirates were a let down.. and I wasn't as pleased with Thor as most people were.
I'm hoping Green Lantern lives up to the hype, and if Transformers is as sick as the trailers have shown, it's going to murder the box office.. kinda like the first one did.
I wish they would advertise Captain America a little better. I am extremely excited for it, but most people I have talked to don't even know it's coming out.
I absolutely adore movie math and am very sorry I came so late but I been neglecting almost all my subscriptions lately. You can blame my job's lack of WiFi
I absolutely adore movie math and am very sorry I came so late but I been neglecting almost all my subscriptions lately. You can balme my job's lack of WiFi
I loved X-Men: First Class! I've already seen it twice in the theatre. I think the story was really solid, and the acting was awesome. (OK, January Jones wasn't the best, but I know a couple in the first two X films that weren't all that great either). I loved how it was a period piece, and that's one of the thing I'm looking forward to about Capt. America. My only gripes are nit-picky, so I don't even bother with them. Hope the next one's just as good.
Xmen was okay seemed like they through their small cast together in very short tim but then again the relationship between charles and erik was very interesting
Respond to this video... You owe it to your self to see Xmen First class ! it was very Good ! Micheal Fasbender is going to be a HUGE Star and hes already a Great Actor !!!!
Let's face it... X-Men: First Class was the best movie by far so far this year. Pirates Of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides was an overwhelming let down for myself. Super 8 will be a classic I believe. I'm definately going to see it. Too bad other countries have the opportunity to see great movies like that before us.
I tryed to follow live on Sunday, but I was always going to a Party and always forgot, but thank you for doing it and bringing it back for Wednesday. I promise I will always watch Grace. Thank you very much for all your work.
Super 8 is gonna make way more than $30 million. I expect $45-$50 million. I went to see it today at an IMAX theater and it was pretty full at 10:45am. Also, it's gonna have great word of mouth which will help it a lot.
@EZRASHUGEREVIEWS Ezra, theaters in NY and LA are usually pretty packed. It's the middle of the country that's the sweet spot for those huge weekend grosses. We'll find out soon how Super 8 fares!
Never stop doing this Grace, there is no comparable segment done as well on the Tube! I've missed it terribly.
I worry that Hollywood has become so focused on Superhero movies to bring in hundreds of millions of $ that even a very, very good result won't be good enough. Everything can't be Iron Man or Dark Knight. Everything shouldn't be.
HOOOORAY for Movie Math!! everyone may not like it, but i always look forward to it! very very interesting and informing! thank you again for restarting it!
I find all your videos to be entertaining, informative, and high quality. I have a question though. How does the net of X-Men FC compare to original? Surely this plays a part in the math as well and runs in the minds of filmmakers especially producers.
I always thought US movies opened in US first, or occasionally in UK, until one of your viewers pointed out to me that Thor had opened practically everywhere before it opened here.
I don't really care about the exact "numbers" of the movies, you just have a really good sense of the business and I like to hear what you have to say about it. Hence, Movie Math is awesome.
I love me some Grace and Movie Math !! Some people only want information that is gossip and if you try to give them anything else, they run. Movie Math is unique, engaging, informative, and worth keeping around !

i hope they reboot xmen movies cause 2 and third one really suck i like em but they still could and better movie ps second xmen was better than 3rd one
I'm so happy that I get to see one of these again. Grace, you said you were trying this again. I hope it sticks, but just in case, what do you need from us to help keep this afloat?

Well if the American economy gets back on track, films become more reasonably priced, and we get original or better movies, maybe we'll go back.
But then again, Hollywood can go to Hell.
