I watched X-Men First Class twice and loved it both times. While I know there were flaws, I genuinely liked it. I also saw Pirates 4 and is a close second behind the first PotC movie as my favorite.

X-Men is definitely going to be the best movie of the summer, I don't understand why it's not selling as well. Come on, Wolverine opened with more? Another thing I have to say is I don't get all the hate for the new Pirates movie. I think it's the second best of the series.

X-Men was the best movie this summer. Definitely. Loved it. I see it having a Batman path. Yeah, it grosses $150 million. But the DVD and word of mouth will mean the X-Men franchise comes back. I actually agree with Fox, this a muted opening, but the film is so good, it gets me and a lot of people excited for X-Men again.

X-Men and Super 8 are the best movies so far this year.

Hangover 2 and Pirates were a let down.. and I wasn't as pleased with Thor as most people were.

I'm hoping Green Lantern lives up to the hype, and if Transformers is as sick as the trailers have shown, it's going to murder the box office.. kinda like the first one did.

I wish they would advertise Captain America a little better. I am extremely excited for it, but most people I have talked to don't even know it's coming out.

I loved X-Men: First Class! I've already seen it twice in the theatre. I think the story was really solid, and the acting was awesome. (OK, January Jones wasn't the best, but I know a couple in the first two X films that weren't all that great either). I loved how it was a period piece, and that's one of the thing I'm looking forward to about Capt. America. My only gripes are nit-picky, so I don't even bother with them. Hope the next one's just as good.

Let's face it... X-Men: First Class was the best movie by far so far this year. Pirates Of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides was an overwhelming let down for myself. Super 8 will be a classic I believe. I'm definately going to see it. Too bad other countries have the opportunity to see great movies like that before us.

Super 8 is gonna make way more than $30 million. I expect $45-$50 million. I went to see it today at an IMAX theater and it was pretty full at 10:45am. Also, it's gonna have great word of mouth which will help it a lot.

I worry that Hollywood has become so focused on Superhero movies to bring in hundreds of millions of $ that even a very, very good result won't be good enough. Everything can't be Iron Man or Dark Knight. Everything shouldn't be.

@BeyondTheTrailer while i find movie math and "box office" numbers interresting, i too don't care about how much a movie grosses in cinemas as it's largely dependent on appealing to a broad audience and a ton of marketing. Most great movies are nichè movies that are made by talented people on a subject they are passionate about without being overruled by economists and executives.

Different release dates in various countries also annoy me, with digital distribution this is counter-productive!
