First off, she completely murdered the song - shes a great singer but she completely ruined YNWA.

Secondly, the reason why Liverpool fans hold such strong attachment to this song is because it is sang in remembrance of the 96 innocent lives that were lost so unnecessarily at a football match.

It was sang before us and will be sang after us, but unlike in Carousel, and to the tens of artists that have covered this, this song has emotional meaning to us.

This performance was outstanding! Her voice is flawless. People can have their own opinions as to whether they like a voice or not, the same way we all have different favorite foods...but no one can tell me that she doesn't "have the pipes"...because when God makes singers...this is how he does it. I don't think one does. Multiple people have claimed it was written for Liverpool or by someone from Liverpool...it was not on both accounts.

I know the fans are very passionate for their team, but that in no way means that they "own" the song. The song is a part of artistic history having been used in Carousel. I do not and will not agree that its "resting place" is with Liverpool. That's ludicrous....no matter how "proud" or "passionate" the fans are.
