to get you guys strait! mandarin has 4 tones, cantonese has 9 tones, and in Taiwan when they speak they scream...i know this because in my school they want us to learn Chinese...my Chinese teacher used to live in Taiwan..he's american and when he first started living there he saw two people talking about the news but screaming!
