I find that these headphones are a symbol rather than a product. The company doesn't really care how well they work,-it's the logo that fetches money. If you had the exact same technology & components made by Plantronics they would probably cost less than $100. I had a $20 pair with real active noise cancellation that worked, and they worked very nicely responding to all frequencies until my dog ate them. Bench is the same way-20 bucks for a logo.

i here the hd 800 are the best , but being 300ohms its needs a amplifier and isnt one you can use with an ipod.. next down is the hd650 and 600 which are amaizng too but also 300ohms so more for home or studio use.. how do the 428s compare to the beats, because i am thinking about either the senheiser hd598's or the AKG 701or702.. because they are 60ohms and just about good enough for the ipod.. how does the 428s compare to the 598s? or the beats?
