Additionally--in many LG washers--the liquid dispenser cup (blue cup) has a "MAX" line on the white siphon cap.
This was a very big *faux pas* on LGs part--this "MAX" line has NOTHING to do with measuring detergent and should never be used as a guide for determining correct detergent amount.
I don't have the same model but my washer is doing something very similar. Think I should attempt to replace the Hall sensor like you did? From 0:07 to 0:11 is what mine is doing. It doesn't actually spin. Although I haven't allowed it more than 30 seconds.
Can you explain what the correct usage is? There isn't much in the book that explains. I put a std amount of liquid soap which is under the "max" level in the cup.
mines making the same sound i have orderd the part hopefully thats it ill check in later to let u know thanks for the help you guys saved me time if it works
YOU ARE RIGHT! Thank you. searched on Sears Parts. ordered part # 6501KW2002A. look at Sears Diagram to locate sensor. Look up "lgcommericallaundry" on youtube: how to replace washer parts # 2 to see area where sensor is. This doesn't show you exactly but with sears & this you can figure it out. you need an impact drill to remove the bolt to access the stator.
Hall sensor replacement video is available on youtube for a top loader.

The correct amount is as follows:
HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Washload
HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

The "MAX" line indicates how much liquid must be in the blue dispenser cup before it DISPENSES from the bottom of the cup.
This is a very, very frustrating mistake that gives owners much grief.

Incorrect usage of detergent causes:
1) Musty Odor
2) "LE" Error/Interrupted Cycle
3) L-O-N-G Cycle Times (longer than time displayed)
4) Insufficient Cleaning Results
5) Small Water Leaks from the air vent behind the washer or at the front door gasket
6) Damaged Hall Effect Sensor (on 2007 or older LG washers)
7) Reduced Spin Speeds (laundry not spin-dried effectively)

Thanks for the video, I was at a loss where to start looking. This is the exact same thing my washer is doing.

Its called the hall sensor it is on the inside of the rotor. The back assembly there is called the rotor and stator.
coketech100 9 months ago
Is the Hall sensor and is part of the rotor assembly wich is waranty for 5 to 10 years
depending in the model number. so you can get the whole rotor assembly under manufacture waranty and only paid labor if it is over one year.

By my LG washer(Model WM2050CM), a "LE error" is a lock error. Check your owners manual.
