Wow! That's interesting. Looks so different from the Sega Genesis one we reviewed X-D I think I might like that one better but... i do love the little intro in the beginning with gomez. He's so adorable.
i finished this..not on sega..but its fucking hard....i discovered all the fucking secret rooms and all mini-missions..its hardest games ever..i tell u...and i played lots of games..i think this is a shorter version
The reason why it wasn't as successful as the NES in America and Japan is because Nintendo had many third-parties in exclusive deals (which were later found to be illegal) with third party developers who were forbidden to port games to the Master System and Atari 7800.
Also, Tonka who handled distribution and such did an utterly terrible job until Sega re-acquired the rights the Master System.
The NES was better in certain hardware terms though. It did have less colors, less RAM in general but the CPUs were comparable and the NES has a better sound chip. A lot of NES games also used addon cartridge hardware to achieve a lot of effects whilst most SMS games had nothing in the cartridge except the DATA, some had save RAM. Comparing the BASE systems the SMS would "win" but when you factor in the cartridge addon chips which were very common the NES almost breaks even.
how did you manage to beat the game? i also took all of the family but how do i acess the "chain room"? because when i am on the roof i move on to a secret room by falling with "umbrella" then i come back to the "study room" there where we save "lurch"
You need to take the music sheet on the left and call Lurch (to play the music). The music will open a secret passage way in the library (on the right of the screen) : it's the chain room.
DAMN IT! THAT'S WHAT I WAS MISSING! THE SECRET ROOM AT 4:27! All that time spent playing that game and I never got to enter the Vault because I was missing a minimal amount of money! Ahhhh the memories... Thank you VERY much for posting this vid!
you actualy beat that game O.o wow you got a lots of patient... i cant play this game so long... i stop before entering the mansion... anyway good job passing trew it
Yes ! That's also what I was missing : the secret room at 4:27 ! Thanks !

It was...in Europe, South America and Oceania.

hey, thanks for posting. I know the music theme is pretty annoying, but when you meet Lurch he plays another song. You shouldn't have cut that part.
