@Thinker669 the storyline goes that the grx has 3000 horsepower and can travel speeds exceding the speed of sound, and it has way too much power and it goes way to fast for even the best of racing car drivers in the world can handle. but you gotta love the corny engine sound effects lol :) im a huge Speed Racer nerd...

Speed really has no business behind the wheel of a race car like the Mach 5. He was18 for Chrissakes ! This kinda shit is why Rex shagged his ass off, Because Pops said he was too young to be a professional racer. By my calculations Speed is now age 63 bless his heart.

one of the things that made a major impact on me as a child was the moral in this series that a hero could cry, lose a fight, experience a traumatic level of fear (as in Speed's fear of speed) and still be a hero after all

so much better than the American cartoons in which heroes were heroes only because they were inhumanly flawless!

Yeah the "GRX" is one badass car no doubt it about it but the Mach is WAY better b/c it's faster & powerful. Yeah why does Chim-Chim have 2 voices? Hey check out Pops Racer at 4:44! for years i always wondered why the hell chim-chim has two voices. like at 13:18 LOL!!! i finally checked it out on wikipedia and i guess they use the both the original sounds for him and the dubbed ones together.

...it just lends to how wacky this show can be. especially with all of the random, non-stop dialog the characters have. i love it! wish people spoke like this in real life.
