Performed in Sydney, after Australian Idol 2003, when Australian Idol went on tour. It was her first performance, following an enforced break from singing, with a throat problem. Cosima came back better than ever here in early 2004.
@Chookie369 As stated in the description here, the performance was from the Australian Idol Concert tour in 2004. This performance signalled her return to the Australian Idol stage, after overcoming a throat problem, which caused her to pull out from the show, just prior to the Idol Finale in 2003.
What Entertainment Centre was this FIlmed at?Such a AWESOME version.Mind you, have seen Cos sing this Song soooo many time's they all sound the same but this was "TRULY" fantastic...
It has more meaning when you hear the originals sing it - to me, this is just someone singing a song, it has no melancholy like when you hear mossy or barnsey sing it.
@MySassyfrass I agree. This is one reason why I dislike all these Idol shows, It's feigning, manufacturing emotion to win a contest. Not to mention oversinging
@cepiroth - because attempts at revisonism gloss over the facts - it was never an "aussie classic". It was at best a middling song from a great aussie band (topped @ about 25 if I remember correctly) - it took Cosima to turn it into a hit.
That said I do think she could have released a more commercial version, but what do i know it still went #1 on release :)
I loved Cosima but Guy was so different and had such a soul feel... But they are such different performers I dont think anyone can compare them. They are too different. Guy is great also.
Sill is like pure electricity running through my body that I can't control...even to this day. Stunning. The only performer I voted every week for. Good Luck Cosima!
This is absolutely incredible. What a performance.
