You know nothing about goalkeeping. He obviously couldn't stretch his left long enough because of the bend, therefor you need to hit it with your opposite hand to reach it. And btw, I don't like Barthez at all, it's just that's what you're supposed to do.

This is what always come to my mind when speaking of Fabien Barthez. I watched that match vs Liverpool and I cannot describe that feeling when I saw that save! I really thought it was going in. I remember Utd won that match 2-1. If Barthez hadn't made that stunning save, it would have been 2-2 and it would have felt like a defeat to Utd since we were leading 2-0 in that match.

Green, Robinson are also good keepers. Schmeichel was as good as buffon and casilass are now. Seaman was also a legendary keeper. Fabien played very well in his first few years in united too, he lost form very often after that

I always thought Barthez was brilliant for United and if you think about it, Van Der Sar has been a lot more inconsistent than Barthez. Barthez just did it in the big games sadly.

Well he may be remembered for the howlers by the English but they tend to forget he won a Champs League with Marseille, a world cup and the euro while being in net. Great charismatic goalie, its just his howlers were really, really bad but it doesnt define him.
