  • Second greatest player ever !!

  • dirty.

  • Which pixel is Larry Bird?

  • @Lightandgold the greatest one

  • willwo--what separated him from other players was his court sense, and the fact that he is the only player I know of that beat two top ten of all time players--Kareem and Magic in a series, and it's confusing to me how everyone rates Magic over him. Magic is my second favorite player behind Bird, because Bird always did more with less, starting with taking a mid major school to an NCAA final. No other player has ever done that, and he lost to a much better team--Magic always had better players.

  • @TheFDrScAnLoN Don't blame Magic because he was on better teams going back to college if Bird had the same advantage this subject wouldn't discussed

  • @TheFDrScAnLoN

HE DIDNT ALWAYS HAVE "BETTER" PLAYERS HE JUST HAD A DEEPER TEAM MAN, AND A BETTER #2.

    THAT'S ALL.

    PLUS INJURIES MAN...

But yes, Bird was the greatest all around player ever, he was a 6-9 Sabonis, only he did it against the NBA and not shitty European comp....

And I love Sabat, just sayin lols ;.

AND 2 DAL - um the fuckin hell are u smokin u lil tiny dicked faggity ass lil loser lols

BIRD WAS A 3 TIME ALL NBA DEFENDER WHO WAS A FUCKIN AMAZING OFF BALL DEFENDER

  • @Mevs2012 We'll put it this way. Jordan had the best all-around combination of everything. But nobody had a higher game IQ, or better court awareness than Larry Bird. The smartest player and the greatest shooter of all time.

  • @williwo As stated before what about Magic Johnson his ability to see the entire was second to none.

  • @dal4018 Johnson was a great passer no doubt. Probly the best of all time other than Pistol Pete in terms of passing and ball-handling. But NOBODY...in the history of the game, has had a better gameplay IQ than Larry Bird. He is the smartest and most clever player in the history of the game. And his passing skills weren't far from Magic's. In fact, the only reason that Jordan ends up greater, is that he had superior athleticism to Bird. You give Bird Jordan's athleticism, he is the best ever.

  • @williwo What separated Bird's IQ from Johnson's or Jordan's?

  • @dal4018 What seperated him? Because Bird was able to stay on their level even though he did not possess their quickness or athleticism. Most basketball people I've talked to, generally consider Larry Bird the smartest player ever. His IQ was impeccable. His ability to read opponents minds and routinely know what play they will make is legendary. Magic Johnson said he was the ONLY player that ever scared him. Thats saying a lot considering that Magic also played against guys like Jordan and Dr.J

  • @dal4018 BTW, I hope you're not looking at this from a Race angle. I dont know what ethnicity you are, but there have been a fair share of black people that have dogged Bird just because hes a white guy. Then there are other black people who do regard him as the smartest player ever....and some even consider him the greatest ever. I'm a white guy, but I dont consider him the smartest because hes white. In fact I consider Jordan the best overall, when u mix everything...but Bird to me is 2nd

  • @williwo No I'am not I just want to know what actually separated him from the other players in his era and to me there is nothing that truly separated him from his contemporaries in the 80's.As stated before Bird himself admitted he watched Laker Highlights to take tips on passing from Magic. To me he was simply acknowledging who was the superior player.Yes I know Magic said that he was afraid of Bird when they played against each other giving him respect that he earned.

  • @williwo And when it came to Bird's passing skills he can thank watching all those Laker highlights from ESPN.Bird himself said in a documentary that he along with all his teammates watched the Lakers when Magic was in his prime as a player. This supported what ex-Celtic teammate Danny Ainge said years ago that all the Celtics watched the Laker highlights during the 80's.

  • @dal4018 You do realize that the Lakers also watched the Celtics right? Magic Johnson was obsessed with playing and beating Larry Bird. He even admitted that he would spend extra hours practicing because he believed Bird was also doing the same thing. He also said that he was disappointed whenever he didnt play the Celtics in the Finals. The obsession was mutual. Both sides took each other very seriously.

  • @williwo Yes I know Magic said he spent extra hours shooting jump shots. Also the media played a big role in their careers as well creating the hype.

  • @dal4018 Also, Bird's passing style was unique and his own. I dont think he got that from the Lakers or Magic Johnson. The kind of flashy passes that Bird did, you never saw Magic do....and vice versa. Like I said, I'll give Magic the edge in passing, even though Bird was a great passer too. But game-play IQ? Bird is the best ever. His cleverness when it comes to offense AND defense is unmatched. He did not possess the athleticism of Magic, but he used he cleverness to find ways to win matchups

  • @williwo Bird's passes were suttle not playground like Magic's yes he was able to exploit matchups to his advantage so were Jordan&Johnson in their prime.

  • @williwo What shocked me about Bird was that he received votes as a top notch defender he was voted on to the NBA All-Defense 2nd team in '87-88.Never saw him as a great defender in his prime.

  • @dal4018 The league's best off-the-dribble scorers could at times expose Bird's lack of footspeed, but he overall was a very tough minded player on D. He had great anticipation and and got to a lot of balls, creating steals for himself and his team. And obviously his hussle was always there. If rebounding fits into this discussion at all, he was probably the best rebounder ever from the small forward position.

  • @PositiveEdge Yes his rebounding was very good he averaged 10 boards a game for his career which is probably among the best from the small forward position and when it came to defense I thought his teammates also helped as well again never saw him shut down his opponents top offensive player. And his hustle also was well documented in his playing days in Boston.

  • Best all around player ever! And no I'm not white.

  • larry bird is the best ever ;)

  • @BASKETBALLJEZUS Well after witnessing a NBA PLAYOFF RECORD 63 POINTS SCORED BY AN OPPOSING PLAYER IN THE BOSTON GARDEN.Bird publicly proclaimed one MICHAEL JEFFREY JORDAN AS GOD IN BASTKETBALL SHOES!!!!!!!!!!

  • the pass was so good that he needs to make the basket after twisting his ankle.

  • so bird

  • better than jordan

  • that had to hurt

  • ouch

  • That doesn't look too healthy for Browns ankle.
