  • Ok ok, i become litle confused from the coments. Quastion: will linear hold load 2t?

I will bild 5axis at home for granit culmns and engraving.

  • Hi, I need help please about how to draw a linear stepper motor with Magnet Infolytica software ?

  • Cylinder type bearings are better for higher load (hundreds and even thousands of times higher load ratio in comparison with spherical type bearings).

Spherical type bearings are better for fast movement thanks to the minimal contact area (and limited load) they have.

  • Linear bearings are best? For higher load? Completely WRONG!!! Linear bearings consist of series of spheres, each with contact area of nearly ZERO square microns. On the other hand, a roller bearing consist of series of cylinders, where the contact area is a straight line along the entire width of the cylinder. Roller bearings are widely used in any application where the load is too high to be handles by other types of bearings (such like the linear bearings).

  • @AutomotiveCNC Not wrong at all. This type of bearing is very suitable for this type of machine and the recirculating balls do carry more than enough load to do it's job. The only cylinder type of linear bearing I know of is the cross roller type which is totally unsuitable, due to cost and fitting, for the long traverses that this type of gantry machine does. Rollers on flat surfaces like some machines have are prone to jamb with debris getting between the roller and rail. It's a cost thing

  • "German engineered" :)
