why not do it with green screen? Seems it would be easier than having actor acting realy slow? Especially if you wanted actor talking while acting in scene.
I'm actually really disappointed with Power Director, on the shelf and in their product videos it comes across as good as Adobe After Effects. Truth is, it is no where close to an operating system. The fault is trying to make the program an easy to use software for everyone and by doing that, it lacks any sort of advance editing. Time to Switch back to Adobe......sorry, disappointed customer.
You can do this effect another way but it is a little more complicated: A green screen have the person doing what ever you want them to do while they're standing in front of the green screen, then add the background and speed only the background up and you will get the same result if it is done right
We did this entire suspense trailer ("Your Girl Is Mine") using PowerDirector 8. It took a long time with lots of crashes, tears and screaming, but learned a lot so...
ask us any questions you might have. Just here to help, others!
This is good as an option but one problem I see would be in the case where you need the subject to provide dialog of some sort. Thanks for posting, I thing the chromakey option would be my first choice.
I feel you on wht you did but its not really slowing him down is there a editor that can truly slw you down and allow the background to move fastno acting required
This is what they've done in the ''Untitled'' music video of Simple plan. To make the raindrops slower, so it's like the other way around but with the same idea. Thanks for the tut ^^
@dadobi2 No it wont do mp4 or mpeg-4 as you say without downloading K-lite codecs (which are seperate to what power director gives you). Even when you do get the K-lite codecs it still doesnt work very well at all.
hey guys im getting this programme but which one shall i get the ultra or the delux?
can anyone tell me the difference?? i have the canon 550d wich is mov file and the samsung hmxR10 which is H.264/ mp both HD, when i have done my editing what format do i save my file in?? whats the best quality? if anyone can help me that would be great :)
Or just do it all in green screen and shoot the picture of the city as the background and then speed it up :P This one is the easiest of course, but the greenscreen effect is much cooler
This is bloody ridiculous, Bought this crappy JVC everio video camera, which records in a format that can only be read by this video program, and the obsolete version of it (the v3 I think) have absolutely no way of speeding up and slowing down, so now I am left with an expensive hunk of crap with a useless video editing software.. and I will have to pay to upgrade to the later software, what the hell is wrong with cyberlink?
@AlexTheAverageKid Yeah it's the same. I have found a way, I got a good conversion software called any video converter. You need to rename the *movie*.MOD to *movie*.mpg (because it is just an mpeg in disguise!) then input it into the converter and output an AVI and it can be used in movie maker
@vanepico I don't know why but my Windows Movie Maker can take .MOD files now. I had lots of problems with them in the past, but ever since I got Windows 7 I haven't had any trouble with them. I tried everything to get them to work on Windows XP but it failed. It might just require an OS upgrade.
You can just do this in windows movie maker without the hassle of constant freezes you get with this software and if your running xp or above its already there and easier to use.
Very glitchy and unresponsive software, tried it on 2 desktops and a laptop, need to work on this kind of software before trying to sell it
You could just record the traffic for an hour, then perform the action on a green screen or if your cheap behind a wall that is 1 color and use the PiP effect place the person to were you want and your done. its allot easier and looks more professional
just go to the cyberlink site. All the tutorials are on there, including the chroma key one. What they don't say is that in order to get good chroma key you should record 4:2:2 if not your edges look like staircases :)
So i was wondering if there is a way that you can just cut a clip and have it fade to black.. instead of into the next clip.. how can you do this?? andd if there is a way to have space between two clips (so they arent right next to each other). Please help. Thanks!
@TurnTableTilly i dont think there is a way but what i do is open paint create a black square then save it and import it then put it in the mater track. you can then fiddle around with the animation to get a fading effect
Cyberlink stuff crashes for a past time, got version 8 tried in on 3 different computers, absolute junk, dont waste your time, i get better results with windows movie maker
I need to know how to produce sele videooo ago and I try but out of very poor quality which of all the options I put in mpg4 mpg2 or avi or mpg 3 which
@CyberLinkChannel So why is it in the movies the footage isn't so god damn choppy? Green screen is easier, more efficient and you don't look like a retard on the side of the road pretending to be a statue.

Hi.. can I ask a question please?
I've recently created a tribute video to a friend who died and have been asked to put a few copies onto DVD.
Do you know how I can get rid of the tacky hill billy type tune and drawing in the dvd menu please?
Don't think it would be in good taste to his grieving widow !!
I've tried changing the background sound, but I still a snippet of the default jingle.
Your help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
