It really doesn't matter. I would never live in the united states, even if they have taxes or no taxes at all. Keep shifting the wealth to your upper class masters. They appreciate it if you were more like the Chinese, keep your mouths shut and just be grateful you have a job.
Even though he is a weasel pinhead, Tucker Carlson is right. The middle class in the united states has nobody in their corner right now, not even Paul who would have absolutely no problem with corporations dictating labour conditions to their employees, and eliminating Medicare.
Reminder : Many former Obama supporters are now crossing party lines to go with Ron Paul. In about 20 closed/semi closed primary states, U wont be able to vote for Ron Paul if U R a registered Dem.So change that affiliation to REPUB today ! Don;t let them cheat U out of a vote and dont let them cheat Ron Paul out of the nomination ! That will be the ONLY way he wont win - if people don't realize they have to reg. REPUB in many states to make their vote count
Why is Joy Behar allowed on television??!! I have never in my life seen her make an intelligent statement, or ever use facts and logic to argue. Her style is basically "this is my opinion and my opinion is the standard of judgement".
Following the constitution means getting rid of subsidies....and nobody wants to take responsibility. So let's just not follow it, right? wtf is that.
"who can bankrupt the federal government as fast as possible". Funny to hear Krugman say that when he is in total support of the current deficits. THAT ARE MUCH HIGHER! What a partisan idiot.
lmao...that dumb broad from the view...this is the 2nd time ive seen her when discussing ron paul and the first thing she ALWAYS brings up is that he's not pro-choice. So eager to bash someone who is awesome just because he doesn't believe in your right to kill a baby. get the fuck outta here feminazi.
I just find it comical that people on the Left hammer away at Bush for destroying the US economy and starting 2 major wars, when his agenda was basically the same as theirs for 50 years. Neocons were basically rejects from the Democratic Party in the 50s. Bush just proved that those economic and foreign policies are a disaster. They don't seem to get that. Both parties have the same agenda. One just uses different language to appeal to different people, but the policies are the same.
Hey, check out my Ron Paul vs Lincoln video. If you don't believe in secession, then you believe in slavery, for you are for enslaving people to a government that they want no part of:
Hey, check out my Ron Paul vs Lincoln video. If you don't believe in secession, then you believe in slavery, for you are for enslaving people to a government that they want no part of:
It is in Tucker's best interest to go around to put round expeditious kind of labels about. -Ron Paul wanting to do away with the Public School system goes along with the same reasoning: that has us borrowing and paying taxes to the Federal Reserve.
School systems are under the same budget and scheming plan to lower standards of learning while forcing the people at large to pay more for getting less, as teachers raises don't happen as education hardly improves at all ever.
Ron Paul is the only elected official that actually wants a reduction in government spending. Today the federal government is spending $30,000 per household, 1 in 6 Americans receive some form of government assistance, 40 million receive food stamps, we have troops stationed all over the world, some from wars fought 65 years ago, government is doubling in size every 8 years and for every dollar the government spends, 40 cents is borrowed. How long do you think we can keep this nonsense up?
Why would they put a bonehead like joy behar on that show. The only thing that she's worried about is abortion today. I fuckin hate people like that. Seriously she's like: ''OH he seems like such a good guy, but oh wait he's not pro choice....''fuck it, i'll vote for the shitty pro choice democrat who doesn't know what the fuck he's doing.
@sexyfoxx86 If you read my comment you will see that I said "this show" not "this video". The show, if you watched the whole thing was what I was referring to
Well we the people want to take up a responsible postition, because the government is in fact owned by banks, corporations and the military industrial complex whose only agenda is to have more wars in order to lap up the remaining important geo-poltical areas in the world. Whilst, at home the government introduces the Patriot Act and other legislation to destroy civil liberties. It is called fascist control and not democracy. The way we are going is towards a full government dictatorship.
I'm a socialist, and yet I'd rather have Ron Paul as President than Obama, because Paul is unique in that he isn't a corporate whore or an imperialist warmonger. However, they're right about what they say. It shows you how bad things are in the US when the "radical" is a traditional free-market conservative. He isn't radical at all. It's just the others are so completely insane that he looks radical in comparison.
Ron Paul isn't radical because he believes firmly in the values of capitalism;he's a radical in that he actually suggests that he believes small, antiCorporate capitalism could even exist without extreme government intervention.
Imagine if you saw someone reading a book with her mug on the cover!
It wouldn't be worth the paper it's printed on!
She would have lactated vinegar all over the manuscript so it would have a lot of typos from ink evaporation meaning I can't really hold her to account for writing nonsense...
these people are dipshits! even that nobel prize winning economist.....Tuckers a tool, easy to give a 5 sec attack on ron paul, saying how radical he is, for wanting to eliminate the dept of education without explaining what that REALLY means........Ron Paul 2012
And think long and hard. How come no one can even afford a decent living? College education? Health insurance? Where are all the profits went by killing cattles/world citizens? Do anyone post comments promote wars get any cash in their pocket? If their house still in tact not up for foreclosure yet? I wonder.
Leuren Moret also states that we are all cows and merchandise for profit. No wonder, empire goes around murder, genocide, and slaughter world citizens for profit on the name of Christian country.
According to Lauren Moret that she coded Kissinger said: military men are just dumb stupid animal to be used as pawn in foreign policy. To those promote war, promote empire. Think over when you are bravely fought for the country. You were called dumb stupid animal. For those red-neck elite like dirty gang tucker Carlson. I wonder what he thinks to be called such names. Of course, elite like him will never go to war.
Ron Pauls personal belief about pro-life is the very basis of the liberterian ideals. It's an individual making an informed choice. What Ron Paul has said about abortion is that the President has no consititutional merit to even be talking about what they would do once elected in regards to abortion. The President is the commander and chief of the military, not some elected emperor whose personal beliefs then has to be abided by by all citizens.
ron paul's pro-life stance is not consistent with libertarianism b/c the whole purpose of pro-life is to have the govt. prevent a woman from choosing to have an abortion
there's ntohing wrong with ron paul believing that. it's all you fucking idiots who make him some kind of "Messiah" figure and something that he is obviously not
Okay Tucker, so you hate taxes, except when you need it to blow things up? What happened to the Conservatives that came from a kind of religious morality that said thou shalt not kill? Certainly war is inevitable sometimes, but justifying fiscal liberalism to fund a war without a declaration isn't liberal or conservative - it's suicide. This crap brought down every major empire in world history. Get your head out of your ass and listen to Ron Paul.
ron paul hates taxes too! jesus how fucking stupid are you people? honestly, i know that an anti-war republican is so rare that he might as well be the reincarnation of buddha, but seriously people use your fucking brains. ron paul is a hardcore libertarian (except when it comes to abortion) who wants to get rid of taxes (big mistake) and hates welfare
WOW for once i agree with tucker carlson. i mean folks, ron paul wants to make some, to be frank, fucking idiotic things, like radically changing education to the point where it's no longer public, that would make a liberal's head explode. and yet some liberals love him b/c he's against the war? jesus h. christ
We don't like his anarchism but we like his foreign policy and when he grave Rudy the "reading list"
I would say you can't be for putting women and doctors in jail and still defend privacy rights. Conservatives like to say small government but they are for a strong military, the PATRIOT Act(I hate that title), the TIPS program(which was essentially secret police), wire-tapping, torture, secret prisons, the FCC, internet regulation they don't speak out against these things unfortuneatly.
well, he's at least a fundamentalist libertarian. and I like him to I just have some disagreements with him. and I don't think anyone would hate him for what he thinks. Also i disagree with that guy that things like social security are unconstitutional. nor does he mention corporate and rich welfare.
You just stereotyped millions of Americans who consider themselves "conservatives" as all believing in these eight things. You might as well say that all Mexicans have pickups and live with 20 people or that all homosexuals work out constantly and have AIDS.
I'm not usually in favor on frivolous executions, but I would really like to see Tucker Carlson and all of his rich frat boy brethren lined up and shot.
Tucker was just making fun of everyone there. He thinks Ron Paul's philosophy is right, he was just pointing out that we are a country full of people who don't want to take responsibility for ourselves and expect to be taken care of by our government thick and thin. If everyone took responsibility for themselves (fail or succeed) we wouldn't have the problems we face today.
I like Ron Paul and I am a democrat. Maybe I am becoming more libertarian like Tucker. He can be a jerk sometimes but he makes sense sometimes like now. Are you shocked he went to Fox?
Shocking that Tucker Carlson--a neocon politically and a classical liberal economically--would work for neocon/neoliberal Fox News?lol
I agree with Tucker on one point,though--that if progressives understood what Ron Paul was really all about, namely market fundamentalism, that they'd be terrified of the guy.lol
@thirdshift47 I'm only asking considering he spent almost 10 years between CNN and MSNBC and he did come across as a conservative and now finally at 40 he came to Fox in 2009. I also after rewatching this agree that it makes more sense to be against Iraq and be for lower taxes. I think if a government program is to be in it better be a last resort. Government is not the first answer to every problem. I believe that is a libertarian mindset yes?
Yeah, but what Tucker misleadingly suggests is that Dems voted largely against Iraq when he'd have a hard time counting on one hand those Dems that challenged Bush on Iraq.
The US is the wealthiest nation on the planet & yet has the lowest tax burden,26% of GDP,of all the worlds wealthiest nations according to the OECD,
So that big gov't argument of the right is hilarious.esp.,when Clinton basically deregulated everything, only to see Bush Jr follow it up with expanded executive power.
And to answer your question, the Libertarian stance is that Government exists simply as the legal structure for ensuring the enforcement of licensced private property.
@thirdshift47 Do you think Republicans hate big government when it goes against their so called values? Some of them still want this damn war in Iraq to continue but yet they complain about big government when it is in on American soil. As a libertarian I believe government is the last resort.
There's no bigger false delimma in our political discourse right now than this whole idea of gov't size.
It's a basic fallacy because go'vt isn't a question of size but of how well it functions & whose interests it serves.
Like I said, most European countries have higher taxes than the US & yet these same countries have freer societies according to most Democratic indexes.
Ofcourse Republicans don't care about the size of gov't,but it's politically expedient for them to claim they do.
@rbilkie ~ carlson is a partisan hack, liberals don't vote for ron paul, they can't stand the guy.
and george bush borrowed 800 billion from china to fund his illegal war in iraq. but hey, let's blame teachers in wisconsin and the unemployed in florida for all our financial woes.
@tomitstube: If you're not partistan by now, then YOU are a hack. If you're not opposing the leftist lunacy, then you're either clueless or sincerely malicious. You people think that unions somehow aren't a financial drain on the country, that you can evade the unprecedented irresponsibility of Obama/Pelosi/Reid by whining "but Bush did it too!!", that the welfare state is a nice little puppy that doesn't totally wreak economies, all of which screams "cluelessness!" pretty loudly.
@rbilkie ~ unions built the middle class in this country. and if your buddy billionaire robber barons destroy the public sector unions like they destroyed the private ones in the 80's... well, you'll love the new third world america we're heading towards. but yeah, you keep carrying water for the top 1% and continue to blame the working poor for our race to the bottom. congratulations.
@tomitstube: See, this is why you liberals will lose eventually. You are embarrassingly ignorant about both history and economics, how wealth is created, how it's destroyed, how the modern world came about. All you have to do is spend about a week studying the economics of unions, how they drain wealth and destroy profits, create unemployment and poverty--as in Detroit, the Coal Industry in WV, the Steel Industry, Airlines before the 80's (when they were de-unionized)--open your eyes, think.
@tomitstube --I mean, what you say is really, truly silly. Read Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson, please. Or Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. The idea that unions do something good for the economy and that successful billionaires with profitable enterprises are harmful to it is an eloquent example of the UTTER failure of public schools (especially teachers unions!) to teach kids to think. It's flat-earth, pre-Greek primitivism that can allow for such statements. Pure idiocy.
@rbilkie ~ well, it was bankers and wall street who caused the meltdown. duh! not union workers who had their pensions traded in high risk ponzi schemes? c'mon, you people can't be that stupid. you're trying to wrap the great recession around conservative ideology.
those billionaires and millionaires lost 8 million jobs in 2008. all private jobs. 4 million outsourced and they've received billions in tax cuts and subsidies. then they get bailouts and give themselves bonuses?!?
@tomitstube - Again with economic ignorance. Anyone honestly looking at the crisis knows it was Fanny & Freddie (government), combined with incentives from the Community Reinvestment Act (government), combined with artificially low interest rates (government), that proliferated the subprimes and caused the bubble. Wall Street is just your scapegoat.
I don't have a conservative ideology, I'm not religious, I just understand economics and believe in one's right to make a profit and keep it.
@rbilkie ~ you just repeat fox nonsense. this cra, barney frank, fannie and freddie blame game has been debunked many times. it's a ridiculous argument that has absolutely no merit, but what's pathetic is you repeating it as fact. proof you are a republican hack who has no idea what your arguing for, or about.. "wall street is a scapegoat"? wow, you really have been brainwashed. you realize the first bail out by bush and obama's bailout was to save a failing wall street right?
@rbilkie ~ you just repeat fox nonsense. this cra, barney frank, fannie and freddie blame game has been debunked many times. it's a ridiculous argument that has absolutely no merit, but what's pathetic is you repeating it as fact. proof you are a republican hack who has no idea what your arguing for, or about.. "wall street is a scapegoat"? wow, you really have been brainwashed. you realize the first bail out by bush and obama's bailout was to save a failing wall street right?
@tomitstube What do you mean we Liberals dont stand Ron Paul ? Look, I disagree with him on Economics, but if I had to choose between mr.Paul or Obama, I would choose Ron Paual no doubt about it, Obama is just a puppet like Bush and Clinton.
@777Atheist ~ ron paul is a typical libertarian not far from the tea bag nut tree. sure the guy looks like bertrand russell next to the latest crop of fascist republicans, but get him away from that lunacy and he starts sounding like michele bachmann in many aspects. the guy wants to abolish the federal government, he has no problem with handing over our social safety nets to wall street, you know, because they're free market geniuses. (sarcasm) he also has a problem with civil rights.
@tomitstube You watch too much TV. I can tell that by your first sentence. You do know the tea party was hijacked by neocons right? And he wants to abolish the federal reserve, not the government. The federal reserve is a separate entity, outside of the government, and is unconstitutional. I won't get into the wall street argument, because I don't understand it, and neither does anybody else. What problem does he have with civil rights? All I've heard him say is, he wants to restore them.
@SignsReverywhere ~ why the ad-hominem attacks you can't possibly prove? i get my facts on ron paul by listening to him. he wants to abolish the federal government except for military, and by his own admission to use it to defend corporations. straight from the horses mouth in the last c-pac convention. he said many other screwy things about rolling back civil rights, public education, and the epa. and he's not all that keen on separation of church and state either.
@tomitstube He's the only politician I've heard say anything about down sizing the military. Yes, he wants to cut many government programs. The ones that shouldn't have been started to begin with, that waste a lot of money, and leave people dependent on the government. I've heard him say, on many occasions, that he wants to leave people to make their own choices, not force his views on anyone. Non interventionist military, small government, personal liberty. Kinda like the constitution says.
@SignsReverywhere ~ you libertarians live in a fantasy land. are you familiar with the BILL OF RIGHTS? that's what the constitution is all about. it's about using the government to PROTECT the very rights you want to stomp all over with this "less government - everyone is on your own - feudal bullshit" wake the fuck up, libertarianism was tried with the articles of confederation and was such a huge failure THEY WROTE THE CONSTITUTION to fix it. you people are clueless.
@tomitstube First of all, fuck you. Why the attacks you can't back up, hypocrite? I never said I was libertarian, or any of that shit. I don't subscribe to any ideology. I just called you out on your blatantly wrong information about Paul. I didn't call him the savior, or anything crazy. And, as far as I know, the constitution and the bill of rights wouldn't disappear under Paul. I don't know why you're getting all uppity. I do you that you aren't too bright though. High schooler still?
@SignsReverywhere ~ your whole comment was idiotic nonsense, let me know when you can argue specifics and facts backed by sources and logic. something besides generic anti-gubmint ron paul worship.
In general, though, it IS true! You don't see people rallying to get rid of welfare. You don't see students protesting federal financial aid for their college education. Most people DO try their hardest to take care of themselves, but who's going to turn down a little help from the government?
You need it once they tax you to death. What they don't mention is that Ron Paul would eliminate the income tax and the Fed and make the dollar stronger...
save that post, you'll need it again. this internet thing is NOT going to remain the open forum that it has become for much longer. time warner and comcast are working VERY hard to bring this party to a close.
Maher and Carlson are both behind MCCAIN. They're totally full of shit and are just shills for the Neocon agenda just like everyone else in the Neocon media propaganda machine. FUCK THE NEOCONS! LONG LIVE THE RON PAUL REVOLUTION!
Tucker supports Ron Paul; he's just being honest about the fact that a lot of Ron Paul's ideas are scary to many Americans who have become dependent or at least have grown accustomed to a massive and bloated federal government.
Not really murphycline. Carlson is a bitch to the Neocon agenda all the way and I wouldn't believe a word he says. Carlson and Maher both pretended to like Ron Paul to try and throw people off and seem like they were on our side. They're not on our side. They're Neoconservative scum.
sublimeguy2 there's no way you can possibly know who Tucker Carlson voted for in 1988 and I certainly wouldn't trust a damn thing that corporate WHORE has to say so I wouldn't take his word for it if I were you.
Wizard what I do know for sure is he was talking up Ron Paul before this Ron Paul fad took off on his show and on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show about a year and a half ago. So yes I believe him and what makes him a corporate whore? He is one of very few true conservatives in journalism. These neo cons hate him because he doesn't use their talking points. O Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Olbermann all these true whores hate Tucker.
When i first watched this a year ago i thought the same thing, i now relaize he's just being honest about ron pauls stance and how much or middle class america is propt up by subsidies and how dependent we have become on them.... i'm still voitng ron pual it's just that i've been persuing a degree in economics and have learned a great deal about how this system really works.... and no it's not a consiracy it's just greed..
The Neocon agenda is about as much about "economics" as a goddamn bank robbery. They just steal American taxpayer money and give it to their friends. Otherwise it's for the benfit of Israel and yes most Neocons are Jewish and there is in fact a Zionist media conspiracy of which your good buddy Maher is a part.
That's exactly what they want you to think Nemesis000000. I used to believe the same thing up until the beginning of the buildup to the Iraq war in 2002 but now I'm sick of being jerked around by the Zionist media. Those who claim to be against the Neocon agenda are actually for it and if you're really against it they won't give you a second of air time. And seriously why do they all have to be Jews. I'll tell you exactly why: ZIONIST MEDIA CONSPIRACY.
Nemesis000000 this is all too predictable. Whenever someone can't come up with a valid argument to defend their position they resort to character assassination. It's easy to tell someone they've lost their mind. Defending the indefensible is much more difficult.
Its your statements that are indefensible. What am I supposed to counter with... "No, clearly you are wrong. See everything known about these men as proof." You are pulling crazy ideas out of your ass, the burden of proof is on you, not me. Everything known about Bill Maher proves he is a libertarian left winger who hates Bush and the neocons. Everything known about Tucker is that he is a libertarian right winger who's a bit of a dick sometimes. Give some proof to the contrary, please.
Nemesis000000 Maher gave himself away as so many other of these media figures have on the issue of Ron Paul who clearly and openly and authentically opposes the Neoconservative agenda. Maher claimed that Ron Paul was his "hero" several months ago and then suddenly did a 180 degree turn when McCain got the nomination and abruptly started ridiculing Ron Paul alongside a Neocon political operative. Maher's full of shit and they're ALL in on the Neocon conspiracy.
Maher never made fun of Ron Paul until the Neocons had the McCain nomination in the bag so it was all strategically timed. Again you had no argument so you had to resort to name calling and name calling isn't a valid debate tactic it's what children resort to in the absence of knowledge. You're clearly in over your head debating me and the debate is only over because you lacked the intelligence to continue.
The proof is that Maher showed respect for Ron Paul until McCain stole the nomination and then Maher sharply turned on Paul. Alongside Maher in that show was a black female Neocon political operative to corroborate everything Maher was saying. The Neocons used that same operative after every Democratic debate to make it seem like Obama won so they'd get their black perceived muslim to run against McCain for the easy victory. It's all a game that goes over the head of an imbecile like yourself.
no i would say he is more of an independent who moved towards the democrats bc of bush. he supported bob dole in 96 and said he is more libertarian than liberal.
you can be both, but u can also be libertarian and be considered conservative. I personally dont think u can be libertarian and be liberal or conservative, since it has grown so that they both believe in government intervention. I dont think maher is libertarian anymore, and has shifted in government intervention on health care and other social programs. But he used to be libertarian when clinton was prez.
Clarson, you git! "...and it means taking responsibility for yourself and nobody really wants that." Of all the people I don't want speaking for me, you're top of the list. Bow-tie or not, you still look and sound like a complete tool. Ron Paul in '08!
I think this election is going to be so rough because it is hard to find a good presidential candidate for our country. But the larger problem is the voters in general. It seems to me that the idea of truth and facts no longer matters. That will be what brings our country down.
Who cares about what color he is? Is that your criteria for a President? What if the first Chinese American were running what difference would that make. If that is your idea of what it takes to run our country then I guess my comment fried that one lonely brain cell you have. Sorry to confuse you with facts and issues...... I was talking about a leader who can fix our problems and all you care about is skin color?!?!?!? Don't strain that brain cell replying to me.
lennycaprino2: It is a great thing that we have a black candidate to vote for. However, voting for him JUST because he is black is STUPID. Are you stupid? If you cast your vote on looks alone then you are, indeed, one of the sheep. If you voted on the issues at hand,(war, economy, civil rights, etc.) you would have voted Ron Paul. Dont be a lamb. Thats what they are counting on.
You reply pretty much sums up my opinion of the voters. Who cares what color he is when we face issues with our economy, out troops are fighting over-seas and we have idiots for citizens. Just look at your comment.
Tucker tells the world he voted for the mad Journalist from Texas! Ron Paul the paranoid physcho saerching for black men with knives hiding under his bed while he writes The Ron Paul Mein Kamf for America! Tucker the frightened Poster Boy for the insane Right voted for Ron Paul, George Bush, The War in Iraq War and like all twisted ne-cons you're stupidity runs on as you (Tucker) remind a on live television that you voted for of all that has wounded our Country!
Tucker is going through a journey of realization, it seems. He stopped wearing the bow tie, he danced with the stars, and he is supporting a great candidate, Ron Paul. Here's to you, Tucker. You are proof that personal growth can happen at any stage of life. It's never too late to change.
I don't like Ron Paul's ideas. Ron Paul is a radical he wants to destroy the Dept. of Education, deport all illegals, repeal the 14th amendment, etc. Ron Paul is racist on the fact he wishes to repeal the 14th amendment
No you are just stupid and close-minded. Understand someones intentions before slandering them. He wants to repeal the 14th because he is a firm believer in the orginal constitution, not because he is a racist. He wants to get rid of the dept of Ed because its useless bureaucracy that wastes money and diminishes the value of our dollar.
I think, Paul´s ideas are all about "how freedom works", and he doesn´t take the constitution literally, but in its sense, as a very good contract between people and government, and a document which seriously concerns about the possibility to guarantee INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM. All the other points like education department and whatsoever are only consequences. The President/federal government shall have as little power as possible for the benefit of the individual American citizen.
I agree with individual freedom part but I am for big government. There are some things in this nation that need to be regulated by the federal government. If we break up into states than we might as well change our name to the "Divided States of America" Remember Washington was a federalist as well.
Oh really? then who regulates that government? The government is taking part in making decisions that they really should have nothing to do with, for example gays getting married. Fuck big government. You have been brainwashed to believe that you need them. WAKE UP!
The Uniting thing of the States of America remains the fact that there is a President/federal government which guarantees INDIVIDUAl FREEDOM. Isn´t that a uniting thing which legitimates the title "UNITED States of America?"! It has consequences for the whole being and living in this country which isn´t anywhere (!) in the world because of the unique history.
What's RIGHT about the Dept. of Education? He doesn't want to deport illegal immigrants, not that there's something wrong with that, but it's a lie. And if an illegal immigrant gives birth here, their child is a U.S. Citizen. That's amnesty. He's for America. Quit smearing him.
There is a lot of things wrong with the education in this country. When high school grads don't even know where Iraq is or France that is a big issue. We need to reform education in this country and encourague the people to get a university education and not end up in debt because of it. I do want socialized education and Ron Paul just wants to destroy that. I have heard Ron Paul is very anti illegal immigration almost as bad as that idiot Tancredo. And being born here is not amnesty.
You know I have done a 360 on Ron Paul in the past few days. I saw the Miami Debates in Spanish and adored the way he handled the questions. I still disagree on his domestic policies though. Anyways illegal immigration is a huge problem but who is at fault for those immigrants?
I disagree with some things that he's going for as well BUT, the big picture. The big daddy picture he is going for is small government. and thats ALWAYS good. like for example i think pro-life people are crazy, and should really STOP it. but i would still vote for Ron if i could.... sadly i cant vote. So i wanna help those who can vote at least find out about him. Since the mainstream media doesn't even mention him.
Ron Paul is getting famous. He is a big sensation but I disagree on his ideas on education which for me is more important than terrorism or anything else. I am in debt over 12,000 dollars because I am going to college and I want one of the politicians to take on the roll of providing education for the American youth.
I see. It is your vote, and you understand(i think) what Ron stands for. Thinking beyond the needs of right now is hard. But you do have a good point, im a student too. I have managed to be without loans so far, but im not sure how long i can keep it up. either way whichever candidate is picked wont change what happens in PR when it comes to education. so ill keep supporting Ron from here, what little i can, even if its telling 1 or 2 people about him.
Well hang on, Hillary Clinton has a plan to increase the FAFSA aid to students by more than 15%. Check it out on her website. Dennis Kucinich wants to pay students' college tuition entirely. I think Hillary and Kucinich could bring a positive change. Ron Paul's ideas on education worry me and scare me off from voting for him but he would a president I could live with.
I don't really like Hillary. When i hear her speak, it sounds totally fake and dishonest to me. Look, i cant trust someone that has special party interest already on her mind before she even gets there. I don't trust her. Kucinich's idea is good, BUT i doubt he'd be able to carry it out.
It isn't about liking the person is about if she can get the job done and i believe she can. I wish Kucinich would win but sadly I don't think he has a chance.
Again, its your vote dude. As long as none of the other republicans win its cool with me.Ron Paul is the only republican i'd vote for. really 80% of them have some deep mental issues. Hillary i guess wouldn't be bad. either way, lets looks for change!
why should the government take my hard earned money and give it to you to pay for your college? I had to pay for my college, so why should I have to pay for yours?
What you don't see is how big nanny-state government makes is much more difficult for people who get an education to actually pay for their tuition. It also encourages people to go into fields that no-one in their right minds would go study into. Finally, it artificially hikes the price of education just as it hikes the price of medicine. You'll find that in a world with minimalistic govt, you'll have a much easier time earning a living.
You actually think so? I doubt it. Business needs to be regulated if not we will go back into the dark ages of the Industrial Revolution when Unions were taboo. I am in favor of big government because it keeps everything organized and makes us have better lives.
The 14th Amendment takes freedom away. It voids your citizenship of America and ties you down to being a United States citizen.(Washington D.C.'s property). It does not protect people from being slaves. Infact it makes everyone born in America a slave!

Tucker ='s idiot.

Ron Pauls personal belief about pro-life is the very basis of the liberterian ideals. It's an individual making an informed choice. What Ron Paul has said about abortion is that the President has no consititutional merit to even be talking about what they would do once elected in regards to abortion. The President is the commander and chief of the military, not some elected emperor whose personal beliefs then has to be abided by by all citizens.
southerndandy89 2 years ago 11
ron paul's pro-life stance is not consistent with libertarianism b/c the whole purpose of pro-life is to have the govt. prevent a woman from choosing to have an abortion
there's ntohing wrong with ron paul believing that. it's all you fucking idiots who make him some kind of "Messiah" figure and something that he is obviously not
fluffynoses 2 years ago
It is the "right" to abortion that is inconsistent with libertarianism.
Craigmin 2 years ago
Okay Tucker, so you hate taxes, except when you need it to blow things up? What happened to the Conservatives that came from a kind of religious morality that said thou shalt not kill? Certainly war is inevitable sometimes, but justifying fiscal liberalism to fund a war without a declaration isn't liberal or conservative - it's suicide. This crap brought down every major empire in world history. Get your head out of your ass and listen to Ron Paul.
surfer53 3 years ago 2
ron paul hates taxes too! jesus how fucking stupid are you people? honestly, i know that an anti-war republican is so rare that he might as well be the reincarnation of buddha, but seriously people use your fucking brains. ron paul is a hardcore libertarian (except when it comes to abortion) who wants to get rid of taxes (big mistake) and hates welfare

thirdshift47 1 year ago
@thirdshift47 I'm only asking considering he spent almost 10 years between CNN and MSNBC and he did come across as a conservative and now finally at 40 he came to Fox in 2009. I also after rewatching this agree that it makes more sense to be against Iraq and be for lower taxes. I think if a government program is to be in it better be a last resort. Government is not the first answer to every problem. I believe that is a libertarian mindset yes?
RealTime88 1 year ago
Yeah, but what Tucker misleadingly suggests is that Dems voted largely against Iraq when he'd have a hard time counting on one hand those Dems that challenged Bush on Iraq.
The US is the wealthiest nation on the planet & yet has the lowest tax burden,26% of GDP,of all the worlds wealthiest nations according to the OECD,
So that big gov't argument of the right is hilarious.esp.,when Clinton basically deregulated everything, only to see Bush Jr follow it up with expanded executive power.
thirdshift47 1 year ago
And to answer your question, the Libertarian stance is that Government exists simply as the legal structure for ensuring the enforcement of licensced private property.
thirdshift47 1 year ago
@thirdshift47 Do you think Republicans hate big government when it goes against their so called values? Some of them still want this damn war in Iraq to continue but yet they complain about big government when it is in on American soil. As a libertarian I believe government is the last resort.
RealTime88 1 year ago
There's no bigger false delimma in our political discourse right now than this whole idea of gov't size.
It's a basic fallacy because go'vt isn't a question of size but of how well it functions & whose interests it serves.
Like I said, most European countries have higher taxes than the US & yet these same countries have freer societies according to most Democratic indexes.
Ofcourse Republicans don't care about the size of gov't,but it's politically expedient for them to claim they do.

tomitstube 10 months ago 2
@tomitstube: If you're not partistan by now, then YOU are a hack. If you're not opposing the leftist lunacy, then you're either clueless or sincerely malicious. You people think that unions somehow aren't a financial drain on the country, that you can evade the unprecedented irresponsibility of Obama/Pelosi/Reid by whining "but Bush did it too!!", that the welfare state is a nice little puppy that doesn't totally wreak economies, all of which screams "cluelessness!" pretty loudly.
rbilkie 10 months ago
@rbilkie ~ unions built the middle class in this country. and if your buddy billionaire robber barons destroy the public sector unions like they destroyed the private ones in the 80's... well, you'll love the new third world america we're heading towards. but yeah, you keep carrying water for the top 1% and continue to blame the working poor for our race to the bottom. congratulations.
tomitstube 10 months ago
@tomitstube: See, this is why you liberals will lose eventually. You are embarrassingly ignorant about both history and economics, how wealth is created, how it's destroyed, how the modern world came about. All you have to do is spend about a week studying the economics of unions, how they drain wealth and destroy profits, create unemployment and poverty--as in Detroit, the Coal Industry in WV, the Steel Industry, Airlines before the 80's (when they were de-unionized)--open your eyes, think.
rbilkie 10 months ago
@tomitstube --I mean, what you say is really, truly silly. Read Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson, please. Or Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. The idea that unions do something good for the economy and that successful billionaires with profitable enterprises are harmful to it is an eloquent example of the UTTER failure of public schools (especially teachers unions!) to teach kids to think. It's flat-earth, pre-Greek primitivism that can allow for such statements. Pure idiocy.
rbilkie 10 months ago
@rbilkie ~ well, it was bankers and wall street who caused the meltdown. duh! not union workers who had their pensions traded in high risk ponzi schemes? c'mon, you people can't be that stupid. you're trying to wrap the great recession around conservative ideology.
those billionaires and millionaires lost 8 million jobs in 2008. all private jobs. 4 million outsourced and they've received billions in tax cuts and subsidies. then they get bailouts and give themselves bonuses?!?
tomitstube 10 months ago
@tomitstube - Again with economic ignorance. Anyone honestly looking at the crisis knows it was Fanny & Freddie (government), combined with incentives from the Community Reinvestment Act (government), combined with artificially low interest rates (government), that proliferated the subprimes and caused the bubble. Wall Street is just your scapegoat.
I don't have a conservative ideology, I'm not religious, I just understand economics and believe in one's right to make a profit and keep it.

(sarcasm) he also has a problem with civil rights.
tomitstube 9 months ago
@tomitstube You watch too much TV. I can tell that by your first sentence. You do know the tea party was hijacked by neocons right? And he wants to abolish the federal reserve, not the government. The federal reserve is a separate entity, outside of the government, and is unconstitutional. I won't get into the wall street argument, because I don't understand it, and neither does anybody else. What problem does he have with civil rights? All I've heard him say is, he wants to restore them.
SignsReverywhere 9 months ago
@SignsReverywhere ~ why the ad-hominem attacks you can't possibly prove? i get my facts on ron paul by listening to him. he wants to abolish the federal government except for military, and by his own admission to use it to defend corporations. straight from the horses mouth in the last c-pac convention. he said many other screwy things about rolling back civil rights, public education, and the epa. and he's not all that keen on separation of church and state either.
tomitstube 9 months ago
@tomitstube He's the only politician I've heard say anything about down sizing the military. Yes, he wants to cut many government programs. The ones that shouldn't have been started to begin with, that waste a lot of money, and leave people dependent on the government. I've heard him say, on many occasions, that he wants to leave people to make their own choices, not force his views on anyone. Non interventionist military, small government, personal liberty. Kinda like the constitution says.
SignsReverywhere 9 months ago
@SignsReverywhere ~ you libertarians live in a fantasy land. are you familiar with the BILL OF RIGHTS? that's what the constitution is all about. it's about using the government to PROTECT the very rights you want to stomp all over with this "less government - everyone is on your own - feudal bullshit" wake the fuck up, libertarianism was tried with the articles of confederation and was such a huge failure THEY WROTE THE CONSTITUTION to fix it. you people are clueless.

Wizard364 3 years ago
He makes fun of everyone. Hes a comedian.
And you're an idiot. "Debate" over.
Nemesis000000 3 years ago
Maher never made fun of Ron Paul until the Neocons had the McCain nomination in the bag so it was all strategically timed. Again you had no argument so you had to resort to name calling and name calling isn't a valid debate tactic it's what children resort to in the absence of knowledge. You're clearly in over your head debating me and the debate is only over because you lacked the intelligence to continue.
Wizard364 3 years ago
You give me one bit of proof to support your insane claims then we can continue. Till then, go fuck yourself.
Nemesis000000 3 years ago
The proof is that Maher showed respect for Ron Paul until McCain stole the nomination and then Maher sharply turned on Paul. Alongside Maher in that show was a black female Neocon political operative to corroborate everything Maher was saying. The Neocons used that same operative after every Democratic debate to make it seem like Obama won so they'd get their black perceived muslim to run against McCain for the easy victory. It's all a game that goes over the head of an imbecile like yourself.
Wizard364 3 years ago
no i would say he is more of an independent who moved towards the democrats bc of bush. he supported bob dole in 96 and said he is more libertarian than liberal.
nader85021 3 years ago
There is no contradiction in liberal and libertarian. You can be both, and he is.
Nemesis000000 3 years ago
you can be both, but u can also be libertarian and be considered conservative. I personally dont think u can be libertarian and be liberal or conservative, since it has grown so that they both believe in government intervention. I dont think maher is libertarian anymore, and has shifted in government intervention on health care and other social programs. But he used to be libertarian when clinton was prez.
nader85021 3 years ago
lol "nobody wants to get rid of subsidies" yea right! Subsidies just help corporations! It amazes me how few people understand this!

That will be what brings our country down.
thissucksgoatballs 4 years ago
And how insane are you? We have the first Black American to ever win a Presidential Primary? You are the only thing that brings me down!
lennycaprino2 4 years ago
Who cares about what color he is? Is that your criteria for a President? What if the first Chinese American were running what difference would that make. If that is your idea of what it takes to run our country then I guess my comment fried that one lonely brain cell you have. Sorry to confuse you with facts and issues...... I was talking about a leader who can fix our problems and all you care about is skin color?!?!?!? Don't strain that brain cell replying to me.
thissucksgoatballs 4 years ago
But he is black and thats the great story!
lennycaprino2 4 years ago
lennycaprino2: It is a great thing that we have a black candidate to vote for. Thats what they are counting on.
lathzz 3 years ago
You reply pretty much sums up my opinion of the voters. Who cares what color he is when we face issues with our economy, out troops are fighting over-seas and we have idiots for citizens. Just look at your comment.
thissucksgoatballs 4 years ago
Tucker tells the world he voted for the mad Journalist from Texas! Ron Paul the paranoid physcho saerching for black men with knives hiding under his bed while he writes The Ron Paul Mein Kamf for America! Tucker the frightened Poster Boy for the insane Right voted for Ron Paul, George Bush, The War in Iraq War and like all twisted ne-cons you're stupidity runs on as you (Tucker) remind a on live television that you voted for of all that has wounded our Country!
lennycaprino2 4 years ago
Oh, do tell us Joy Behar, please give us your wisdom...
robotactionstar 4 years ago
Tucker is going through a journey of realization, it seems. He stopped wearing the bow tie, he danced with the stars, and he is supporting a great candidate, Ron Paul. Here's to you, Tucker. You are proof that personal growth can happen at any stage of life. It's never too late to change.

Damn, Tucker Carlson was supporting Ron Paul.. Now he's calling him a radical.
Flipflop Tucker? Guess he got a call from his masters at FoxNews.
Vote for a man of Principle.. Ron Paul in 2008!
GinsingSullivan 4 years ago 7
I don't like Ron Paul's ideas. Ron Paul is a radical he wants to destroy the Dept. of Education, deport all illegals, repeal the 14th amendment, etc. Ron Paul is racist on the fact he wishes to repeal the 14th amendment
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
No you are just stupid and close-minded. Understand someones intentions before slandering them. He wants to repeal the 14th because he is a firm believer in the orginal constitution, not because he is a racist. He wants to get rid of the dept of Ed because its useless bureaucracy that wastes money and diminishes the value of our dollar.
amysticalmoose 4 years ago
yeah what moose said... and Ron Paul is a radical, cuz he is sane and the rest of the people in gov't are drunk off intoxicating corruption.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. by Thomas Jefferson.
danspeaks 4 years ago
The "original constitution"? So you believe blacks are 3/4ths of a person too? Or what about fucking the "Indians" over as well?
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
I think, Paul´s ideas are all about "how freedom works", and he doesn´t take the constitution literally, but in its sense, as a very good contract between people and government, and a document which seriously concerns about the possibility to guarantee INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM. All the other points like education department and whatsoever are only consequences. The President/federal government shall have as little power as possible for the benefit of the individual American citizen.
Wesdt1 4 years ago
I agree with individual freedom part but I am for big government. There are some things in this nation that need to be regulated by the federal government. If we break up into states than we might as well change our name to the "Divided States of America" Remember Washington was a federalist as well.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
Oh really? then who regulates that government? The government is taking part in making decisions that they really should have nothing to do with, for example gays getting married. Fuck big government. You have been brainwashed to believe that you need them. WAKE UP!
WtfJuju 4 years ago
The Uniting thing of the States of America remains the fact that there is a President/federal government which guarantees INDIVIDUAl FREEDOM. Isn´t that a uniting thing which legitimates the title "UNITED States of America?"! It has consequences for the whole being and living in this country which isn´t anywhere (!) in the world because of the unique history.
Wesdt1 4 years ago
What's RIGHT about the Dept. of Education? He doesn't want to deport illegal immigrants, not that there's something wrong with that, but it's a lie. And if an illegal immigrant gives birth here, their child is a U.S. Citizen. That's amnesty. He's for America. Quit smearing him.
MooseOfReason 4 years ago
There is a lot of things wrong with the education in this country. When high school grads don't even know where Iraq is or France that is a big issue. We need to reform education in this country and encourague the people to get a university education and not end up in debt because of it. I do want socialized education and Ron Paul just wants to destroy that. I have heard Ron Paul is very anti illegal immigration almost as bad as that idiot Tancredo. And being born here is not amnesty.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
Its illegal for a reason.
WtfJuju 4 years ago
You know I have done a 360 on Ron Paul in the past few days. I saw the Miami Debates in Spanish and adored the way he handled the questions. I still disagree on his domestic policies though. Anyways illegal immigration is a huge problem but who is at fault for those immigrants?
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
I disagree with some things that he's going for as well BUT, the big picture. The big daddy picture he is going for is small government. and thats ALWAYS good. like for example i think pro-life people are crazy, and should really STOP it. but i would still vote for Ron if i could.... sadly i cant vote. So i wanna help those who can vote at least find out about him. Since the mainstream media doesn't even mention him.
WtfJuju 4 years ago
Ron Paul is getting famous. He is a big sensation but I disagree on his ideas on education which for me is more important than terrorism or anything else. I am in debt over 12,000 dollars because I am going to college and I want one of the politicians to take on the roll of providing education for the American youth.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
WtfJuju 4 years ago
Well hang on, Hillary Clinton has a plan to increase the FAFSA aid to students by more than 15%. Check it out on her website. Dennis Kucinich wants to pay students' college tuition entirely. I think Hillary and Kucinich could bring a positive change. Ron Paul's ideas on education worry me and scare me off from voting for him but he would a president I could live with.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
I don't really like Hillary. When i hear her speak, it sounds totally fake and dishonest to me. Look, i cant trust someone that has special party interest already on her mind before she even gets there. I don't trust her. Kucinich's idea is good, BUT i doubt he'd be able to carry it out.
WtfJuju 4 years ago
It isn't about liking the person is about if she can get the job done and i believe she can. I wish Kucinich would win but sadly I don't think he has a chance.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
Again, its your vote dude. As long as none of the other republicans win its cool with me.Ron Paul is the only republican i'd vote for. really 80% of them have some deep mental issues. Hillary i guess wouldn't be bad. either way, lets looks for change!
WtfJuju 4 years ago
WE NEED CHANGE. This whole fucking continent NEEDS CHANGE! And you are 100% right on that Republicans have severe mental issues especially Huckabee.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
Wohoo! common ground! Gotta love finding what we do have in common instead of looking for what we don't ^_^
I love quoting Gandhi, specially this one cause i base my life on this:
"You should be the change you want to see in the world"
I' pretty sure thats not exactly how it goes, but the meaning is what counts ^^.

why should the government take my hard earned money and give it to you to pay for your college? I had to pay for my college, so why should I have to pay for yours?
waynie11 4 years ago
What you don't see is how big nanny-state government makes is much more difficult for people who get an education to actually pay for their tuition. It also encourages people to go into fields that no-one in their right minds would go study into. Finally, it artificially hikes the price of education just as it hikes the price of medicine. You'll find that in a world with minimalistic govt, you'll have a much easier time earning a living.
PhoenixRouge69 4 years ago
You actually think so? I doubt it. Business needs to be regulated if not we will go back into the dark ages of the Industrial Revolution when Unions were taboo. I am in favor of big government because it keeps everything organized and makes us have better lives.
Salvatrucho213 4 years ago
The 14th Amendment takes freedom away. It voids your citizenship of America and ties you down to being a United States citizen.(Washington D.C.'s property). It does not protect people from being slaves. Infact it makes everyone born in America a slave!
