I used to live near Runcorn and the swarming - or murmuration - is spectacular. You used to get a good view from the old Canal Street football ground and it was often more interesting than the football! The best time is at dusk. Please make sure your daughter hasn't seen Hitchcock's 'The Birds' before she sees the swarm.
