What a horrible development to all the previous storylines. recalling Alun's character which started from nobility ending up a bitchy queen and Iolo from being so much in love and caring to just nothing but a confused pint guzzling plumber who seeks relationships for a hobby. Is that really a storyline worth watching? The writer obviously seeks to confuse his audience by the abrupt change of demeanor of the characters and the events surrounding them just keep shifting in an unsettling way.

Poor Macs he knows deep down that saying what he would like to do to Scott will never take away how he is feeling inside right now.Macs is putting himself through hell shutting out anyone who is trying to help him through this.Finding Scott may to him aliviate the problem in his head but this will only be a temporary thing.What Scott did to Macs will never go away and he needs to keep his Brother iolo onside right now because on his own Macs will never cope and will sink further into depression.

I really think it would be an awesome storyline if the writers made Macs gay as a result of getting raped. Just my opinion.

@lhola29 It is a very brave storyline because as already discussed and rightly so Male Rape is so hard to prove just like female rape is and to finally see it from a male perspective in a soap and how they feel is brave and gutsy to do and I just hope that Macs can someday get back to his old self.But to me setting out to want to destroy Scott will not help neither will loosing his temper at that little twerps comments in that pub.Macs is now ticking timebomb and now fear for him when he blows.

It's interesting that Macs wears that same outfit all the time...maybe he's desperate to try to return to his normal routine before the rape, to return to a sense of regulation and normalcy and he developed a neurotic sense of meticulous repetition (he's obviously continued to shave his head). I'm probably reading too deeply into it, though.

Honestly, I'm not looking for anyone's approval here. I've seen soaps where people die and return, die and go to heaven then return. Anything is possible on soaps.

I'm just having some fun here. I don't think it's that far fetched for a person to become gay after he's been raped. Call me crazy. A lot of people do and that's ok.

OK seriously... they have subjected us to this story line for how many months, I know its a touchy subject and its good to get out in the open... What I think is they need to find Iolo a hot boyfriend..

This is a great storyline with excellent acting, I don't understand why so many people here are disliking it. If it's because Iolo doesn't have a love interest at the moment, that's a poor reason to dislike it. After the drama Iolo went through with Alun, it's understandable that he will take his time to get involved with another guy. Also, he's trying to help his brother right now, who's obviously in the midst of a downward spiral.

Maybe the reason Macs is so disturbed is that he liked the sex. Now he can't get beyond it because it was force upon him.

I think the writers are setting the stage for Macs to become gay. This would be a first in a soap, i think, 2 gay brothers, interesting!

@anthonydlangford Anthony, You took the words out of my mouth. Gay siblings are not unusual. I've known lots of them. But people don't enjoy rape no matter what sex they are. That's just sick. Surely the producers would not be so stupid and to do such athing.

@Imogen1885 Clearly none of you nay sayers to Macs becoming gay are familiar with the history of the US soaps' most famous couple-Luke and Laura where Luke raped Laura and she ended up falling in love with him, leaving her husband Scott for him and marrying him!

@65vyleen Luke raping Laura didn't change her sexual orientation (another myth). Rape has nothing to do with love. Macs' sexual orientation has nothing to do with him being raped. He was violently assaulted against his will and no part of him enjoyed it. Sexual orientation in this instance is not relevant. Even if he WAS gay (which he isn't) being raped is a horrible experience.

The suggestion that being raped will make him "come out" is repugnant.

@PlatypusRising55 Yes I agree strongly with what you are saying here Macs went through a terrible ordeal at the hands of Scott but to suggest he will suddenly turn gay as a result of this is totally wrong.However Macs I do fear for it is not M.E he has got that is for sure and I am scared to say this because I feel others will pehaps hang me again for saying it but I feel Macs has something a lot more serious his actions his mood swings and his behaviour tell me this is serious.

@Imogen1885 I think the point of the controversial post is that Macs may have already secretly felt an inclination for experimenting with m/m sex but when Scott raped him it horrified him because what he was curious over was forced upon him unwillingly.

@st515041 You must be referring to "Papa to Kiss In The Dark" and "No Money." You could only get away with those plots in anime. This may be a soap but it purports to represent real life. Rape does not make you gay. It makes you angry.
