How were Black eligible to vote when majority of Blacks were Enslaved?The closest the came to voting is being counted as 3/5 of a man, to prop up the southern representation.Women received the right to vote in 1920. Black Men received the right to vote around 1870 both times the constitution had to be changed to allow this.

People had to fight and die by the thousands to change that consitution in order to give rights to certain people. And even after those changes to the constitution your states set up laws to marginalize people based on race. A large part of what sharpton does is fight against those infringements on rights, some ego has been created but still does not trump the facts.

Sharpton could have organized this rally last year, BEFORE Beck had a chance to secure the permits, etc. Actually, there should be an ANNUAL event in DC to celebrate King's historical rally/speech.
