This has inspired me. I'm now in the process of using a steering device for my kayak with my legs(using the hydrofoil design of course) and using my 5 meter kite as the propulsion. When i get it figured out i will post it.
@ti41magh41 will be difficult to generate sufficient righting moment while sitting in a kayak. That is more wing than one person is going to be able to control with stading and leveraging their weight. Imagine kiteboarding on a kneeboard ...

I wonder if this concept be merged with the moth design for keeping it in the water and without the resistance to the variable difference of the surface. Also less resistance to the surface which means more stability for the craft. Then again i could be a moron to this added design. Wouldn't a hydrofoil pin the sail to the surface creating more speed?
@ti41magh41 I think negative lift hydrofoils (ones that hold the boat to the water) produce far more drag than they are worth, you want to minimise wetted area and hydrodynamic forces and by having some areas lift and some areas pull down you are just increasing the drag.
This type of design seems near-perfect for speed really, makes best use of the weight and seems low drag, at those speeds hydrofoils wouldn't react in time.

small bow plains w/ high speed servo motors rigged up to either a gyro or tilt detector or some other pitch detection mechanism can be used to actively "fly" the front end of the boat like a hydroplane... I'm just sayin.
Stick forward! stick forward! Ha ha, bet ya shit in ya wetsuit when you saw the sky buddy. Only a kiwi or assie would have the balls to pilot such a mental craft.

I think you should practice the basics before you start doing tricks, although that was a sight to see. Glad you weren't injured

nice backloop attempt, just look backwards, and you'll stick it next time. Doesn't a sail with that kind of aspect ratio need some twist?

Most people see a "fucking crazy" crash. But the more intelligent of you would see an aeronautical breakthrough.

No keel to keep it in the water at high speeds = recipe for disaster pie.

There was too much flying and too shy of sailing on that run. Very good sports about the damage.
