  • Wow, amazing picture quality. I'm looking to get a Canon Vixia HG20 myself, for some glorious HD like this.

  • i have its a great camera. check out my test if you want to see more examples

  • hey can anyone help me? i justbought myself an HG20 but all the files when they appear on the computer are .CPI and nothing seems to recognise this. can someone tell me how to convert these or somethign so i can edit my footage?

  • hey, i just bought this camera, how did u import to FCP?

  • this is amazing !

  • Sacre Coeur Basilique

  • Wow, the zooming into the soccer field was amazing. What was that church that you filmed in the mountain? I forgot. Btw, thanks for bringing back good memories in Paris.

  • you can zoom a lot more than he did with this video camera.

  • great video! but I see that movement brings stutter . I have the same camera and have tried all sorts of codecs and can't avoid stutter in final rendition. how frustrating. if anyone has the solution (I use Pinnacle ultimate 12 ) please go ahead...

  • Since there is no talking in this video why not cut the sound and add music, it's easy enough to do since you use FCP.

  • Sometimes it's interesting to hear original sound and noise.

I put music on some of my other videos.

  • it is nice to see how well the wind screen does work, how windy was it up there, I only ask because I am thinking about the HF 10 and I know they say the wind screen is pretty poor on it too. Just seeing your thoughts...

  • we use roxio creator 2009. Any suggestions?

  • Sorry never heard of it, I use Final Cut Pro on Mac.

  • amazing vid, me and my bro just got this cam but its not the quality i was hoping for, may i ask what settings you are using and how to put them on those settings, we usually use cinemode 24p thing, and max settings on super fine 1980x1040 or something.

  • :) used to live in sanfrancisco for 2yrs! why did i come back its a vey cool place. everyone bikes it there too! lots of things to do if you got kids even skiing is apprx couple hours drive away. the stanard of living is so much higher and we ourselfs devoloped nation bollocks. uk is very backward no real large industry left here anymore. uk is just a financial hub thats taxes its citizens to death wouldnt happen elsewhere not us nor france.moaning again sorry about that take care :)

  • :) london would be great if it let town planners build sky scrapers and interesting build not just the odd building here and there. to be honest i cant stand england hate the TAX, CRAPPY ROADS, CRAP PUBLIC TRANSPORT, SHITY HOURS WORKING OH AND LETS NOT FORGET IT CRAP WEATHER and its inherent double standards, sorry just having a moan but i do hate england loath it hopefully i can get out in a year or so...peace

  • paris what a beatiful city better than london shit hole

  • I reckon is just a little bit to much compression in your video, you can't see any details, is it due to rendering? otherwise not to bad :)

    gz-hd7 owner;)

  • this was my very first upload for youtube hd window. plus original record wasn't on highest settings. I know it could be better.

  • Yeah, I'm a proud Canon HG 20 owner myself. Did you use it's full like 200X digital zoom there. I've always wanted to test that. That would have been a perfect chance. See how much quality would remain.

  • i don't remember what i used.. just zoomed in and out

  • AMAZING i wish i was there

  • the quality looks AMAZING in HD : -)...great film!

  • ups, I mean audio quality xD

  • I'd say quality is pretty good for its price, I like what I hear.

  • hey, another question...how is the video quality ?? I have read that only records in 2 channels....

  • OMG the quality of the video is amazing

how is the video in low light (indoors) ??

I want that camera...but I have read that the videos are too dark indoors

  • well I guess any camera will need some lighting when filming indoors. Depends on how bright your room is.

In a day time quality is very good.

  • Well if you have at least one light in the room your filming in, then its OK. The light just has to be in the subject. And if your making an actual video (not like a family event or a baseball game), always move the light around so you can get the area bright. If you want it dark, then you have to do some editing if you want quality.

  • or spotlight mode

  • i use spotlight and cine. they're very helpful.

  • I do like cine mode. Where do i find spotlight mode?

  • On the program tab, move the highlighter all the way to the end. Then click on it. Then go over until you reach spotlight, then click on it.

The brightness will be pretty low and the colors will look colorful. But if you have some decent lighting, in post (editing), you could correct the colors and stuff. But you'll need software like Final Cut (Express Or Studio), Vegas (You Don't Need Pro), etc. If you're using a PC for youtube, get Vegas. Mac, Final Cut Express, partners use studio.

  • cool thanks, i've got FCP

  • me too.

  • wow. almost like being there. thanks for sharing. i just the hg20 but have not really had any occasion to actually use it yet.

  • You're welcome! Yea HG20 is a great camera, I really love it.
