For an engine this size, what is the minimum safe distance from the front? I'd imagine that this distance varies greatly, depending on the size of the various engines?
Did you take this video private for a while? I think ran across it a couple of years ago and next time I tried to find it again to favourite it, it was gone, or marked private, I forget which. Anyway it's good, thanks for posting it!
I've only been inside the aircraft during engine start and it seems loud enough there. It must be a banshee right next to it.
IM not gonna be rude and say what I feel like saying to you, however I WILL say this, I am an Absolute professional, as well as the webmaster of the #1 listed aircraft mechanic forums in the WORLD, I have 30 years in the biz. I KNOW how to take precautions, and it was done with ZERO risk of FOD. So had you askjed how it was done, I would have explained how safe it was, but instead you showed your absolute ignorance, and BTW, you aint kicking NO ONES ASS
thats also one of the smallest turbo fans ever used on a civil aircraft. the mass and velocity of the air going into that engine at idle isnt nearly enough to do anything but mess ur hair unless ur standing with ur face in the cowling.......lmao
I think it's not dangeorus 2 stand that close to the engine when it is at a low energy running. But when it get's in higher energy foreksample in takeoff thrust, you should be more carefull.
I go to A&P school here in FL. Don't listen to those morons. You and I both know the danger zone for an idling turbofan/turbojet/whatever, is 20 feet, and I'm pretty sure you know that also
put ur face up close to those fan blades..... quickest way to have a shave... EVER :D good vid.

Interesting, but I'd be too afraid of the camera slipping from my hand and being ingested by the blades D:
