Even though it is very difficult for a man in his late 40's to try and act as a 25 year old man, Jimmy Stewart was the only actor in Hollywood with the technical knowledge, flying & acting background to do it where the actor wasn't acting. He WAS a serious pilot having done many missions in WW II in Europe.
This mans acting is incredable... This is the movie is incredable... I always knew in history class that this movie would be shown eventually... Love it!!!
It's an awesome movie in my opinion. And Jimmy Stewart was a great 25 year old Lindbergh.

James Stewart was considered too old for the role, and he wanted it very badly.
I think he did a bang up job; this movie is an absolute classic, and a historical record at the same time.
