hello i wanted to ask if someone can tell if the nokia n900 gives you a sign when you recive a mail? or do you need to go bij yourself in the inbox and clic refresh or someting else?? thanx
you get this balloon type message on your screen whenever mail comes in or if your screen is off, it will make a sound and also the LED light on the bottom right will flash blue.
yea, when a new mail comes in you get a really nice notification box which pops up with sender and beginning of message, you just click the box to open the mail. it looks awesome!
It's guite a cool interface, not just regular. It's called conversations and uses SMS and IM at the same time and seperates them by symbols. You also have an iPhone-like overvieuw for every contact.

u moron idiot search it. man how FAIL u can achieve more today? this is res. not cap. omfg U R THE FAIL OF THE 2009 and maybe 2010. thank u sir. u r served good.
It only has word completion at this time. The keypad is pretty good though, so you are don't rely on word prediction / correction as much as on touchscreen keyboards.
Better camera, better screen, better video, real keyboard, more RAM, open sourced OS, full flash browsing, FM transmitter, and receiver, infrared port, changeable battery, camera flash, up to 48GB storage, and cheaper...
dude u really need 48gb? i have 16GB 3Gs and its already empty for me. iam a contractor so i dont use music in it..i use DROPbox program which i can acess my files from my account etc..i also use GPS which is very important for me. battery yes..Iphones never succeed but thats okay. no pain no gain. N900 is cool! dont get me wrong..but its HUGE ..i tried it..i cant put it to my suits pocket :(
You have an Iphone, but don't use music? That's about the only thing an Iphone is unrivalled for! To be honest, I don't know many white collar workers who wouldn't be embarrassed by pulling out an Iphone-it's made for teens dude! These devices are true multimedia kings, and right now, I'm using 27GB on my N97. You should go for a Winmo device-they are not for gamers or music lovers, but they're more powerful than the Isheep. Huge? It's narrower and shorter than 3gs, but thicker due to keyboard.
Nokia said that they will add portrait mode on everything on the phone later on.. (it's just that they didn't have enough time to implement all those features on time)... So yes there will be portrait mode on the N900.. Also by the end of the year Nokia said they will add portrait mode for the browser..
There are no official plans for "full" portrait mode yet. Only the browser has been confirmed, although it can be taken for granted that more elements of the UI will support portrait mode soon. The remainder will probably be filled with third party software if necessary (considering that even the desktop framework is open source for example).
Well, not quite. :) Like I said, there is no promise of "portrait mode on everything" now or later. It remains to be seen to which extend it will be implemented by Nokia, but the community will certainly fill in the gaps.
they're almost the same speed with the processor but N900 is able to MultiTask and iPhone can NOT also N900 has more RAM and ROM so its up to you which one is best. N900 is more for Online and Multimedia usage they showed it running 11 apps at once and it ran smoothly, to me N900 best fit my needs and to me overall better than the iphone right now
You can easily run 20 apps and still have a usable system, it depends entirely on how much performance these apps require while idle (e.g. running music and other things in the background may slow things down, but it will still be completely usable).
I thought I see a hotmail option in his list of service providers, should be able to use it unless Microsoft purposefully prevents you from doing so. in which case... why would you want to use them anyway?
Just open an account with a better service like google :P
If you're talking about MSN messenger, that is fully supported under Pidgin under the maemo platform. I use it on my N800
Not the MSN chat client itself, but I can add my MSN account to pidgin and chat with all my MSN friends. Pidgin supports multiple chat protocols, so you can have all your different friends all under one program from all chats like MSN, AIM, yahoo chat, ICQ etc. etc. it even supports Facebook chat!
you simply install the program, add account, select MSN, fill in your login info, and it automatically inports all your buddys. u can get email notifications everything pretty much like regular MSN.
is it possible to choose a portion of text on a email and make copy paste??? is there a video about that? thanks

zaffe93 2 years ago
Skype works great, it's embedded in the contacts, so when you choose a contact, you can see his availability instantly without even starting skype.
cirkusarena 2 years ago 3
The chat system has an open architecture, so things like msn and everything else can be plugged in by third parties. You won't need an app for that.
