I have got a 68 B body a 78 A varient and an 86 G body , and raced both A and B body roundy round and have been a pontiac buff for 40 years Thats a GP but its not a G body that year they were stretched A bodies 78 /82 were also A varient years, but still clasified as G body by most. I bought a 69 SJ fairly new ,it was a little shorter body than B but strecthed in the front. and became the same base for the montes , sometimes called full size for interchange(Hollander). Not the same as a Goat
@Ph0enyx1978 Whoever this "ShitfromShinolla" guy is doesn't seem to have a clue what he's talking about. You obviously read the comments, so I'm sure you noticed his argument was talking about how two completely different layouts from GM used the same frame. I can't see the validity in his argument, so I stuck with myself and said this car is a Grand Prix indeed. Who do you agree with? You typed "nice Grand Prix". Do you know it is truly a Grand Prix?
@Fast69GP In Grand Prix's If i'm not mistaken,,,there were SJ Models only,,,not sure,,I just remember seeing my neighbors SJ with the 400 under the hood.
I don't know where all the confusion came about as to what my car is. I have owned it for over 10 years, and know it inside and out. It is a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J. I have the build sheet for the vehicle has well. The 1969 GP's were built on the all new for '69 G body platform, completely redesigned from the former B body GP's up to that point. The G body was, if you will, based on a lengthened A body, AKA Le Mans and GTO's. But is in no way, shape or form an A body
You are being quite hypocritic in telling me that I am closed minded. You can't seem to agree with four people who all say the same thing. You are being a bigot as well in assuming that only what you say is correct. One of us has to be the tie-breaker here, and since I can't seem to find any picture of a Le Mans LE, it looks like its going to have to be you. Find me a picture comparison of a so-called "Le Mans LE" and a Grand Prix SJ so I can see where your argument is coming from.
Yeah, but you don't have to hold the brakes to smoke the tires with a 428... just STOMP IT....they'll smoke anyway...( a 428 is REALLY a 427.6.....4-2-7....)!!!
@ShitFromShinolla Actually, YOU don't know your Pontiacs "tool". A '69 Le Mans has a flatter nose with a grille spanning the full width of the car. It has a more rounded back end and is based on the GM A-body frame with a 112 inch wheelbase. A Grand Prix has a similar, but not the same frame as a standard GM A-body. Grand Prixs have a 118 inch wheel base and a narrow, almost square grille as clearly depicted here. The list of differences goes on... Do some research before you call people names.
@turfshredder No, you're describing a GTO or the Le mans SE. The Le mans LE looked like the Grand Prix SJ but it wasn't. GM used the same body for a lot of their cars to save money. They only changed minor external body parts like the quarter panels and the grills. They never changed the frame or the engine. The car in this video is a Le mans LE not an SE or a Grand Prix. It doesn't matter the wheel base which has noting to do with this video. That's where you're wrong TOOL.
@ShitFromShinolla I can't seem to find a description for a Le Mans LE anywhere. And it doesnt make sense that Pontiac would slap Le Mans badges on a LONGER Grand Prix frame. If you look below youll see other people who agree with me saying that this car is indeed a 1969 Grand Prix. 4 people including myself to be exact say that. Unless you're a veteran Pontiac engineer who can find some photographic evidence that this is a "Le Mans LE", I'd say you're out-voted 4 to 1.
@ShitFromShinolla Also, your statement about saying GM used the same bodies for alot of cars does not apply in this situation. While it is TRUE that GM did use the same body and frame for their A-body line of cars, the Grand Prix did not use the exact same frame as ordinary A-bodies. In the 1969 model year, Pontiac stretched the frame of the standard A-body and called it the G-body platform (MAKING IT DIFFERENT FROM ANY EDITION OF STANDARD A-BODY LE MANS IN THE 1969 MODEL YEAR). Period.
@ShitFromShinolla To put this whole argument into simple terms, I'm pretty sure that a car guy with a high performance vehicle like this would know what kind of car he has. It's typed clearly in black and white above.
@turfshredder No, you don't care about the facts and that's your problem. This is the Pontiac Le Mans. I can't argue with someone so close minded as you anymore. It doesn't matter what you say because you're wrong and refuse to look at the facts. You are so narrow minded that it's people like you who ruin the world with this bigoted attitude cause it's your way only. I'm tired of this originalist crap. You need to be more politically correct that's your problem.
Wow, That car hauls!

Nice Grand Prix. I have always been a fan of these cars.
And what's up with people arguing over what kind of car this is?
