though i like FANTASY stories and such and celts and such and all of this, i do not believe in it i believe in GOD nice song but vikings are part of history and what they beilived in was just something they made up a long time ago and isnt real...nice song
.«Det var svarte og stygge karer, og stygt hår hadde de på hodet; de hadde store øyne og breie ansikter.» They where black(darkskin) butt ugly men(wimen). and ugly hair they had on their head.Big eyes and wide faces. My Viking forefathers did not care if they where eskimo ore indians.Same shitt haha. They where weak in their eyes.
There is a funny story in (Eirik Raudes saga) The first meeting with the indians was not good.My forefathers did kill em all in a fierce battle without losses the very first sight they did see them..And it was a nordic woman there to...And she did pick up a sword and bang it on her chest.Unlike indians we have warrior woman in our culture..And the skrælings(indians)Ran in fear of her beautiful nordic appearance. They had never seen a woman like that.Haha
@ytpoliticsnigga Hear ye! Hear ye! People of the internet, I declare that I have come across yet another specimen of human wimp. Let us pray to the gods for them to give us strength to turn these abominations into real people, hail the gods of Asgard!
PS Don't forget the fatty tuesday, and if you don't know what it is, google it!
@ytpoliticsnigga And that came from the person that's afraid of Valhalla, and I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were uneducated too. :)
@ytpoliticsnigga Historians suggests that the vikings fought in defense of the Christian invasion of the north, that they took the battle to the enemy. History has also made clear that the Christians were rather big cunts as well, and still are.
@TheMonegarm whose history are you reading? The Gauls, along with the Rus, etc., had been invading Europe before Christianity was even around. And history has only shown that the only "cunts," there are are people, regardless of their religious or cultural background, who go around saying and doing whatever they want without checking their facts.
@sanguinecross1 Whose history? Well why don't you take a wild guess. Can't believe you wrote what you did in your latest comment. Sir, are you aware of that you define your self as a cunt by our own description? Unless of course you have solid proof that the Vikings infact were the biggest cunts in Europe. And btw history really has shown that christians were cunts, and still are in my opinion. A bit less of a cunt these days, but still big unshaved cunts. Need facts on that?
@TheMonegarm Well, Mr. Sirry Sir Sir. It is you that bears the burden of proof, not I. You show me yours and I'll show you mine. otherwise you're just being pathetic. You keep saying it, so back it up.. go on. don't be afraid. I'll even say please. Please show us how you got your interpretation of history from too many episodes of Family Guy. go on. Let's hear that ww2 is God's fault, or something equally ridiculous, cited, of course from something better than your "opinion." if you please.
@ytpoliticsnigga Not true. Alot of the myths about the "terror of the Northmen" were propaganda. After the pass of king Cnut, the cultures began to blend, and it was far easier to do so than the historians of the time would have you think, for the truth was, most of the reason the Northmen invaded was because of rumors of unguarded riches, that is, relics of the church.
I love the debates that pop up on lovely videos like this. I'm confused with your points though Itzaramaja. Are you defending Christianity or Judaism? Are you talking about a Christian "Messiah" or a Jewish "Mashiach"? They're completely different concepts. Messiah has evolved into a term for the demi-god savior, where as mashiach ("The anointed one") refers to a king being anointed as he took the throne.
@draiglais I defend Christianity, and proclaim that God has revealed himself decisively in Jesus of Nazareth. The Jews of today who reject Christ condemn themselves, for there is only One Name under heaven whereby we must be saved; salvation is in no other. Christ alone is Lord and Master.
@BenjiAJ Therein lies the fundamental difference in our beliefs. I don't believe I need to be saved from anything. I have certainly made my fair share of mistakes and I will bear the burden of them. I don't however believe that I carry an inherited sin from a woman eating some fruit.
@draiglais You don't have to have a view as to how you came to have sinful tendencies, in order for you to be within your rights in believing that you do in fact have them. The story of Genesis has to be interpreted in the light of what the historic Christian tradition has maintained and not in an idiotically literalistic fashion. Doing the latter only exposes you as someone who is either ignorant of or has no wish to engage with sophisticated presentations of Christianity.
@BenjiAJ That's yet another difference in our beliefs Benji. My concept of "sin" is nothing like the biblical idea of it. I have three very simple rules: Deal honestly with others, protect my family, and don't be needlessly cruel. Outside of that (legal issues excluding) anything is fair game. So long as I perform those three things to the best of my abilities I cannot "sin". I may be inclined towards anger, lies, violence, or a number of other things just so long as I don't act on them
@draiglais Well, if you don't consider yourself to have ever failed to live up to your own standards of right conduct, then I really have nothing to say except that you might perhaps be deluded on this score, and that this delusion of yours, if it really is a delusion, could well be the outcome of your own sin. That said, my point remains that Christianity is substantively concerned first to affirm the reality of moral wrongdoing on the part of those who engage in it, and then to offer a remedy.
@BenjiAJ I'm not by any means saying that I've never failed in upholding my standards. Those incidents are treated as something to learn from to make you grow stronger. I make amends with and to the person I've wronged and square my debt that way. it's not a matter of appeasing a deity and cleansing my soul. So long as another's path doesn't interfere with me following mine I leave them be. It's not my place to tell them how to live, the standards to keep, or the laws to follow.
@draiglais What if you make a girl pregnant then persuade her to abort the child? To whom are you going to make amends for this, and how can you square your debt in these circumstances? If God exists, then there is your own debt to him that needs to be squared; and if he doesn't exist, then why think that there is any debt that needs to be squared? Why think that this rigmarole that you have described of 'squaring debts' isn't just a way of making yourself feel better at the end of the day?
@BenjiAJ That's simply not something I would do. Sadly I don't and can't have children, but besides that family is something to treasure. The question is hypothetical and focuses on a belief or the lack thereof. If one believed it was wrong and the fetus was alive they wouldn't do it. If the fetus isn't "living" then they would feel no wrongdoing and it would be their choice. The answer seems to me to be more about personal values than whether or not you would owe something to a god.
@draiglais 1. Someone might still do it even if he believed the fetus was alive and that abortion was morally evil, because the law allows him to do it (or to encourage someone else to have it done); and because it would spare him the inconvenience of being held responsible for the care of a child who would have been his own. So your claim about what someone would not be willing to do to the fetus if he felt it were wrong to abort it on account of believing it to be alive, is false. cont'd
@draiglais 2. What is objectively true about whether the fetus is alive (or human) need have no causal relationship to whether a given person is able to find it in himself to regard abortion as morally evil. If it is really true that someone 'would feel no wrongdoing if the fetus weren't living' then it would be suffcient to falsify the notion of the fetus being alive if someone were to be found who would not deem abortion to be morally evil; yet to suppose this is manifestly absurd. cont'd
@draiglais 3. I vehemently disagree with you that what is right and wrong must depend on your own subjective feelings about the matter, or, as you put it, on 'personal values'. If that were so, what the Nazis did to the Jews in the Holocaust, could be defended by reference to Hitler's 'personal values'. That is why atheism is a morally bankrupt philosophy. If God does not exist, objective moral values do not exist.
@BenjiAJ I'm done here Benji. I won't be converted back to Christianity and you won't concede that pagan's aren't morally bankrupt. I don't see the need to beat my head against the wall talking about abortions and Nazis.
Oh Valhalla, I await thee, one day i will die in battle, in the US Marines. I will make you proud Woden! I had to cut my hair, but that is a small sacrifice to be in valhalla. Modern military calls for short hair, but they don't suppress your spirit! oh bring me to Valhalla! let me die a glorious death! ahhhhh!!!! hail!
Eg. It might make me feel good to save the life of my grandmother by donating my bone marrow to her, but I am still not aiming at the feelings that this act of mine will generate in me, but rather at the goal of the act: which is the saving of the life of someone I love. The feelings are by-products; but they are not what I aim for in doing the act.
@Youang1 Yes I want her to survive, and that is my point; for in saving her, I am aiming at her survival and not at the feelings that I know that I would be experiencing if I were to succeed in my attempt to save her. That is what I mean by choosing to do the good for its own sake. The fact that I wouldn't want to be doing the same for anyone else, might only mean that there are some good acts that it would be hard for me to want to do for their own sake.
@BenjiAJ Still you want her to survive so that YOU can be with her, you do it for yourself because you want her in the same world as you. You wouldn't do it for a person that you hate, because you don't want this person to live in the same world as you. And not saving him would morally be murder, wich makes you evil.
@Youang1 I would want her to be in the same world as me, but not because I am seeking to enjoy the feelings that I would be experiencing by having fellowship with her. If that were so, then it wouldn't matter to me whether or not her company was essential to the production of these feelings in me. But even If I could be induced to have these feelings in her absence, I would not see this state as every bit as desirable as the state in which she is present in the same world as me.
@Youang1 That said, I would be willing to forego the enjoyment of her presence if that would mean that she would be saved through my willingness in this regard. That implies that in seeking her survival I am not principally aiming at any experience which it would be possible for me to have. Thus such seeking is an instance of seeking the good for its own sake.
@Youang1 If I fail to be similarly willing to save a person whom I hate, and if it is the case that I ought similarly to be willing to save him, then all that follows is that I would be doing what is morally wrong. The fact that in his case I am not seeking to do what is good for its own sake by seeking to save him in a way similar to the way that I would seeking to save my own grandmother (when this is what I ought to be doing) only implies a moral blemish on my part; nothing else.
Typo in the post below: I should have said choosing the good for its own sake in the best way possible is impossible without our believing in God; nevertheless, it is possible for someone to believe in God and still be evil (that is to say, to reject his purposes). Hence God withholds giving us overwhelming evidence so as to make it possible for us to learn to do the good for its own sake and not in the certain expectation that our virtue would be rewarded.
It's clear that you haven't seen some of the sophisticated responses that Christian thinkers have produced in tackling the problem of evil, especially, the problem of animal suffering. This is not the right forum to treat of the issue but it suffices to say that there are treatments available which make sense in the light of the best available biological evidence.
The God of Israel is the One True God; and He has revealed himself decisively in Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus of Nazareth was and is God Incarnate who rose from the dead and announces through His Church to all men the good news of the Gospel: that by the blood of his cross we have redemptions. There is no other Name. The Hammer of Thor was crushed to dust by my Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. I summon all here to accept the Lordship of Christ. Amen.
I don't mean to disrespect you, if you believe the "god of Israel" is the "only true god" that's your opinion....for me.....an oppressive Jewish male deity is not the True God. Also, a Jesus crushing everyone who does not believe in him...why would I want to believe in such version of Jesus in a globalized planet where such ideology has led to massacres, genocide and torture? This sort of Christianity does not work in this era anymore. Not in my opinion.
@itzaramaja You are completely ignorant of serious presentations of Christianity. You are probably filling your mind with the garbage that is sold to you in 'women's studies' - or poorly argued, feminist rants about 'male oppression'. Have you heard of Mary the Virgin? Why not model yourself on her? No; because you want to be sexually immoral. What you don't see is that when you behave in this way you are reducing yourself to the level of a slave who exists to satisfy male lust.
@itzaramaja Or perhaps you think that God should not judge you because you are a woman? How chauvinistically conceited you are! And don't lie about Christianity. Read what the distinguished sociologist Rodney Stark has to say about the contributions of Christianity to civilization. Read what Lord Kenneth Clark has to say on the same issue. You are defaming Christ in a bid to deny his Lordship. You are spreading lies about Christ. You don't know how to be a decent Christian woman.
I am not a feminist and I won't discuss my sexual life or "morality" here (you are making too many mistaken assumptions about me). My rejection towards the "god of Israel" has nothing to do with that. Why would I follow a god that promotes intolerance, guilt, and the sick concept that there is a chosen people and one absolute truth, and the rest are doomed ignorants who deserve death? Or that we're all born sinners, or the Final Judgement... too much fear and anger for me.
A god who calls himself ABSOLUTE and yet he says he is the "Lord" (male), a god who calls himself OMNIPRESENT and yet he condemns those who call divinity by a different name...contradiction everywhere! How convenient to call him the “god of Israel”, to promote the ambitions of an elitist group of bastards. Why would the Jews be the "chosen people"? Under what fucking merits? Why would the Christians be "saved"? Are there not exemplary Hinduists, Buddhists and Muslims as well?
@itzaramaja If I have made mistaken assumptions, I unreservedly withdraw them. Having said this, it must be pointed out that the Jews are the Chosen People in the sense that it was only their prophets who were truly inspired. These prophets attested to the coming of a Messiah who would offer a propitiation for the sins of the world. Hence the Jews are the Chosen People also in the sense that the Messiah was to be of their race. Yet the Messianic mission is directed towards the whole world.
@itzaramaja Moreover, the Messiah established the Church as a universal kingdom into which men of all cultures are to be summoned unto an allegiance to God. Jesus of Nazareth established the New Covenant with his own blood which serves to give to us a means of atonement for our sins. The God of Israel is the True God and he has revealed himself decisively in Jesus of Nazareth, God Incarnate, the Messiah of Jewish prophecy.
In short, atheists cannot account plausibly for the most general features of the world - the fine-tuning of the constants of nature and the initial conditions for the evolution of life; the existence of the universe and the lawlike behaviour of all of the universe's material constituents; the emergence of human consciousness; the exercise of rationality and moral awareness; and religious experience.
@BenjiAJ Evolution is the cause of accidents and mutations, that is why our bodies work like they do. And if your god exists, I think I would have been dead by now and I don't think he would even allow sinners to exist. You say he's perfect, right? Then why not just create humans without the capability of comitting sins? Why not give some proof of his existense so that all heretics would give in to him? And if he created mankind, explain to me why polyteism exist.
@Youang1 Evolution presupposes the fine-tuning of the constants of nature and of regularities in the behaviour of material particles which are data that are rendered probable by the theistic hypotheistic. Evolution can't account for the mind-body interactions and specifically for the data which seems only to be able in principle to be accounted for by the postulation of mental substances.
C: Heaven is beyond description; it is the enjoyment of God and the company of the blessed experienced under transmortal conditions which we can only speculate about. And the parasitic insects you refer to reflect in their activity the operations of a sin-marred and fallen world which as time ticks on is headed towards inevitable cosmic destruction. The pain of the lamb is not quite as you imagine it to be as the lamb is not self-conscious unlike human beings who process sensations differently.
i strongly recommend Tim Willcock's book, THE RELIGION. for a gut wrenchingly realistic view of religion and war in the pivotal siege of Malta,1565. TW pulls no punches! written in "historical novel" genre, his history is impeccable & his writing truly elegant! his characters & their deeds are as authentic as history allows. some were very real. he plunges you head first into the blood, shit, crud, stupidity, grandeur and god-awful gore of war without blinking & you come away Enlightened. Real.
just stop sitting hidden away in your dark bedrooms slinging mean words across the "internets" at each other! if you're going to Fight, do it like real men. bloody murder each other! there are too damn many hoomuns around anyhow. a few billion less would do everyone & everything good. ya bunch of pansies! *!*
such lovely music. such nasty messages. (tho not all.) very sad. war seems to be the one thing all men worship, for good or bad. who can say really. perhaps killing off each other is the only way to keep the worlds most vicious predator in check. and still there are 7 Billion of us now. without the lambs the lions can't survive. but without the lions the lambs won't either. and the ravens, rats & roaches will pick all our bones clean. no matter what gods we do or don't pray to. ~*')
the christian religion says in the bible God hates sun worshipers and we call our day of worship Sunday and the Bible tells us when our holy days are and we don't hold them when it comes to pagan holidays we celebrate with fervor it says in revelations a few times how God hates the Nicolations I am not sure but I think they are the followers of saint nicolas The bible says not to worship images but most churches have a picture of Jesus Christians have been dilluted they can't read and figure out
Who cares about christianity!? The gods of asgard rules in in the north, wether you want it or not, the egyptian gods in Egypt, the greek in Greece and the christian, islamic and jewish in Israel. At least that's what i believe, I'm going to Valhalla or Fólkvangr (I'm not the one to choose) and I'm going to party like hell! Is anyone with me, or do you just want to rot in Nifelheim with Hel? Let's rise from the ashes and travel the world, spreading culture and prosperity!
@FALpwn A: I'm swedish, and my family is pure swedes as far back as anyone knows. B: Is that a good or a bad thing in your opinion? In my opinion it's quite good, but most of all I wish I was icelandic.
@FALpwn I do not know what kind of dumb ass history teacher you had but of all bad things vikings were it was NOT racists. It was almost like a sin to the vikings to be a racist. The vikings were traders that traded a lot with foreigners (for example arabs). The norse gods are white, just as the greek gods look like greek. Racists are the kind of people that makes it shameful to be a follower of the gods of Asgard.
@Youang1 I'm sure the Norse Gods are going to come down and tell us off for being racist haha yeah sure. . . "What are they gonna pat you on the head??" lol
Its fucking brainwashed freaks like you that make it a SHAME
@Youang1 U have to be racist in order to identify the superior Nordic races to the inferior niggers, jews, chinese and whatever shit they got floating on Odin's land.
@wrathofvengance67 The nordic race is NOT superior. They're just as bad as any other human race. Sure, we might fit better in a cold climate compared to, for example, arabs, but if you put me in a room that's more than 18 degrees celsius warm, I'll start sweating. I wouldn't last a day i a desert! The human races have adapted to their climate, that is why they look different, none is better than the other, end of discussion!
@Youang1 no, we look different based on genetics. Not just climate. If a nigger lived in the Atlantic for a thousand years, he would still be a monkey. And the Nordic race IS supreme.
The world owes all its creativity, technology and inventions to the Germanic peoples.
@wrathofvengance67 ... Haven't you heard of a few countries named Greece, Egypt, China, Japan, and India? In 500 BC the nordic race lived in houses made of wood, dirt, straw and animaldroppings, while southern people built great cities of stone.
Asian societys (since I'm not sure of wich countries): Silk, noodles.
India: The numbers we use today, cotton, rocket artillery.
There are many more, just google it and you'll find hundreds of inventions and contributions made by non-european people. If there is one race that need extinction it is the white race, we are responsible for most crimes against human rights worldwide.
@wrathofvengance67 You mean the jews that invented jeans, lipstick, traffic lights, genetic engineering, the polio vaccine, stainless steel and a lot more.
Just go back to the cave you came from, and stop that hating. It isn't good for your health.
@wrathofvengance67 ... The black plauge came from china. You know that europeans destroyed the lives of almost all native africans, americans, asians and other. All humans are evil, just more or less.
@wrathofvengance67 Do you even have the slightest idea of what the black plauge actually is!? What kind of a nationalist history teacher did you have!? No human caused the black plauge, it was a virus, it started in china and spread west.
@wrathofvengance67 2: The black plauge spread from person to person, often with traders. There are reports of entire ships coming to port, but with no man alive. The men on the ships were dead, the virus often spread from fleas on rats that were onboard. There's also a report of some army that was invading a city, but the plauge struck them so they couldn't keep up the siege and before they left they launched the dead bodies with catapults into the city, wich lead to plauge striking the city.
@Youang1 Look at the classes of sinners that the poet in Old Norse speaks of having seen in Nastrond. Even Thor is chastised for beating women. The racists are defiling what is great in the Nordic spirit. Woe to them for they attack God's image in man and will pay for their hatred if they do not repent while there is as yet time for them to do so.
@Youang1 'In Nastrond (= Hell) I saw... murderers.' (Old Norse. Volospá 38, 39)... 'There, Thor, you got disgrace, when you beat women.' (Old Norse. Hárbarthsljóth 38)... 'They said that he had been the mildest and gentlest of the kings of the world.' (Anglo-Saxon. Praise of the hero in Beowulf, 3180) ...J R R Tolkien, one of the greatest scholars of Norse myths in the English-speaking world, was a devout Christian and utterly detested the racism of Hitler.
@BenjiAJ I may not be a part of, or even like, your religion, but still you are one of the few educated, intellegent, good, kind-hearted people I've seen on the internet. But still, I will never convert to christianity. Since I was born I have pretty much despised, I don't know why, I mean, my grandfather was a priest and many of my relatives are christians. I love my homeland, but unlike the racists I do not despise others. There's just no reason to do so.
@Youang1 That may have a lot to do with the history of your people. Catholicism was recieved with open arms in the Northlands, but later radical lutherans invaded scandinavian lands so as to wipe out Catholicism with the sword. After that, Christianity was a terrible burden to the Nordic peoples, having been imposed upon them against their will. That's a little piece of history Protestants don't talk about. Those animosities still remain, and for good reason. The old culture is all but gone.
@Youang1 We're talking, however about the recent invention of the printing press, if you know what I mean. People were only recently gaining access to the scriptures for themselves, sometimes with disastrous results. No one really knew anything back then but what they had been told for centuries, that religious movements were meant to be done with the sword. But don't let people who don't know what they were doing centuries ago keep you from examining things for yourself now, is all I can say.
@Youang1 It is clear that even the Sons of Northern Darkness were aware of what Christian thinkers like Thomas Aquinas called 'the natural law'. St Paul, writing to the Romans, says that when pagans act in a way that conforms to God's law, they show that the dictates of this law have been written in their hearts. Aquinas said that this law was nothing other than a participation in God's own reason.
@BenjiAJ Our brains reward us with good feelings if we act morally, because it's requiered for our survival. A human doesn't have a chance to survive alone in the wild, we are dependant of other people. That is why feel good when helping others.
@Youang1 I salute you. You embody the true Nordic spirit of your ancestors, and not the racists who celebrate what is evil in their culture. I can see that you have also taken cognizance of the achievements of the other cultures - eg. the ancient Indians and the Chinese. It is someone like you who as a Christian I respect. You are near the heart of Christ. The racists curse the Jews and take pride in savagery and thus reduce themselves to the level of animals.
@Youang1 You are right to say that the human race is evil. The Bible calls us 'children of wrath'. And Cardinal Newman spoke of the 'terrible aboriginal calamity' that must have infected the human race with sin. The racists you are responding exhibit hatred towards other men, and in the very process of doing so, have dehumanized themselves. You truly embody the Nordic spirit. Contrary to what some have posted, even the Norsemen were aware of the natural law. Read C S Lewis' 'The Abolition of Man
@Youang1 WHAT??? It was almost like a sin to the vikings to be a racist. Are you fucking kidding me...Dumbshitt..My forefathers did mock and laugh at black/skin people. They did see them as weak. Its all written in old scrolls and stone.Even the slavic people..We took em as slaves and used them as TRELLER.
@Youang1 yes that is a good you are like me a pure Nord (Aryan) my ancestors are English which means they are originally Germanic. white nationalists nowadays forget that the nazis regarded only Scandanavians, English, Dutch, and German as superior, they hated and regarded other white races as disgusting and inferior, hitler actually regarded the russians, polish serbs and all eastern europeans the same as the jews and would have sent every last one of them to auschwitz if he had the chance
@Youang1 Well if your going to either Valhalla or Folkvangr then I suggest you die in battle. Otherwise you can either die of old age and go to Hel or you can just plain die and go to Helgafjell and drink around a warm hearth with your ancestors for the rest of eternity. Personally I would choose either Valhalla or Folkvangr, but I doubt I will die in battle. I will either end up in Helgafjell or Hel, heh
@PandemicInfektion Sadly I probably wont go to Valhalla or Folkvangr either. I've got one reason keeping me from joining the army, I love my long blonde hair, it's the only thing that I'm proud of and I don't want someone to just cut it off. I'm thinking about becoming a sailor and then I'll hopefully drown and spend an eternity in the hall of Ran and Äger. (Sorry if I spell the names of the gods strange, I'm swedish and because of that I spell their names in swedish.)
@Youang1 Nobody - no serious thinker - takes the Norse myths seriously. Those myths were full of depravity and told of Ragnarok, a twilight that would befall even the Norse gods themselves. Even Valhalla wasn't eternal. And what was believed to take place in Valhalla? Feasting, licentiousness, and waiting for Ragnarok when they would all be destroyed. But the true God, the God of Israel, is eternal and that God,, took flesh in Jesus of Nazareth, so that he could give his blood for our sins.
@Youang1 A: Jesus said that in the world to come, we who have glorified bodies, will not and will not need to eat or drink; nor will there be any form of copulation. And we will not fight for war will be over and the goal of all of striving and fighting will have been attained: the vision of God in glory in communion with angels and saints, B: The apocalypse is the unveiling of Christ in glory when he will inaugurate the New Creation and judge the evildoers and punish them in hellfire. cont'd
@BenjiAJ Your heaven sounds pretty boring to me, I'd much rather spend my afterlife feasting and having fun. And how can you prove that the lamb is not self-conscious? How do YOU, a simple human with less genes than a corn plant, know that the lamb does not feel pain? Pain is a warning system to tell the creature that it's in danger. A defenseless lamb should even be more sensitive than a human.
@Youang1 You're obviously fairly ignorant of the sophisticated literature that exists on the subject. I need only refer you to the atheist philosopher Michael Murray's book "Nature Red in tooth and claw" to see the evidence that biologists have amassed to support the theory that there are 3 basic levels on which pain can be experienced: aversion to stimuli, mental states of pain, and awareness that one is in a state of pain (an awareness which presupposes self-consciousness).
@BenjiAJ How do you know that the lamb isn't self-conscious? Have you ever been a lamb? No, I'm pretty sure you haven't, and if you have been a lamb, you should probably convert to hinduism. Please, you seem like an intelligent person (except for the religious part), so would you be so kind to explain why all people are evil, and explain to me the suffering of animals.
@Youang1 Thanks, friend for your generous compliment. I want to share with you the Good News that Jesus loves you, and he gave his blood for you on the cross to atone for your sins. I assure you that Jesus loves you. As the Apostle said, 'he loved me and gave himself for me'...for you...yes you...and me. This is the truth.
@BenjiAJ I just want to say, before you raise questions, that I do not have any answers, I raise questions to increase my understanding, just like greek philosophers did. I can't disprove your god, but still you can't prove to me he exists, it is all in belief. How can we be sure of anything? How do we know this isn't some illusion that our so called brains have made up? How do we know how old we are, how do we know that everything the history books say have happened?
@Youang1 Well, I think that a good case can be made for the view that God exists; and I think that theism makes the best sense of the most general features of the world. I believe that powerful, inductive arguments, rigorously constructed and responsive to the data of the mainstream sciences, can demonstrate that the God of traditional theism exists with a high degree of probability. I further believe that of all the world's religions Christianity enjoys an unparalled degree of evidential suppt
@BenjiAJ How do we know that world war 2 occured? What proof is there of it's existense? And when the historians gives us proof, how do we know it isn't fake? My grandfathers father (I think it was) was a sailor, and one day he brought home some old chinese coins, and his grandchildren played with these coins near a lake and dropped some of them in the lake. Later a historian found these coins and he started to believe that the vikings had been as far as to China. Never believe anything.
@Youang1 I think that apart from showing Christianity to be true, by defending it by means of arguments, and by countering arguments that have been put forward in an attempt to disprove its claims, we can also directly know in our hearts that the Gospel is true - through the witness of the Holy Spirit. I invite you to open your heart to Christ and pray that God will lead you to the truth.
@Youang1 And God doesn't give us overwhelming evidence nor does he see fit to convince you in particular that he exists beyond all doubt because the desideratum that he is aiming for isnt mere belief in his existence, but rather that we choose to do the good for its own sake. Doing the latter in the best way possible is impossible without our believing in God that it is possible to believe in God and still be evil.
@BenjiAJ So you're telling me that I can't do good for it's own sake without believing in God. Well your both right and wrong, I can't do good deeds for it's own sake, but neither can you and your god doesn't have anything to do with it. We can't do good because if we do good, without gaining something materialistic, we still get a good feeling, wich makes want to help more, because we like that feeling, and we want it for our own sake, wich makes it greedy to want that feeling. Greed=Sin.
@Youang1 No I mean that you can't do the good for its own sake in an ultimate sense without believing in God, because if God exists, then he is by definition the ultimate good, and so to choose to follow him simply because of who he is, would be the best act possible, which it would not by definition be possible for anyone to choose to do, if that person were not to believe in God's existence. And those who choose to do the good for its own sake don't aim at the feelings you mention. cont'd
@Youang1 There is no good reason to join to the army.We can't fight like our great fathers. Now they can kill the breavest warrior with one sniper shot. The song is beautiful by the way.Who is the singer?
@Youang1 Proud to be a true norseman with true viking bloodline.I live in a region called Heimdal..And another name not many miles away are called folkvangr...In Trondheim...in the same region we have RANheim.(Heim)means as simple as (home)In Norse.Thats where they did make (blot) to the old gods of the north in the past. This is common in Norway(Vikingland)to have names from our viking past around us where we live.Trondheim was the first true viking capital of Norway. Heil the nordic race.WPWW
Amazing... The Odinists spend so much time mocking Christianity and Christians as weak, then go on to complain that Christianity wiped out their religion. Does anybody see an irony, or is it just me?
And about your earlier comment on how Pagans were "real peaceful" they could be polish, I've read how as you say "True Christians" can and have done some really appalling things in their time of influence, as they say "Anything for Religion"
Would everyone please shut up about Religion and who killed who, the truth is no matter what religion you are that religion has shed blood and killed lives at one time or another. Everyone has their own opinion on their religion and own way to practice it, just enjoy the music and how it moves you and be thankful for the freedom of choosing your religion.
@nanacyndilou Anyone who has time to to look up birth rates in predominantly white countries and concern themselves with the number of people who have the same skin color obviously has some racist feelings. And theres no need for name calling, calm down Adolf.
@nanacyndilou Sure, Norse mythology is interesting, but animal sacrifices, and preforming ritualistic tasks to appease gods is just ridicules. Paganism is just a way for ancient cultures to describe and understand why things happen. The religions that trace there roots back to the old testament actually offer teachings and philosophies that benefit society as a whole.
@polishguy994 Really what good as come from abrahamic religions ? More blood shed, murder, diseases and corruption then any other time period in history well wait maybe not but we wouldn't know that because the Christians burnt the libraries of Alexandria and destroyed every culture it came in contact with murdering the "EVIL' ones that would not submit to a mans greed e.i. the pope. Explain the crusades to me again?

I think its funny how people who aren't in the military say they are going to Valhalla. You have to serve as a soldier and die in battle and be chosen. So unless you die in war you're not going to Valhalla. Sorry to burst your bubble
@xhxntxrx There is a lot of evidence that points to great warriors being sent for bravery & vigor in battle, but is also true that evidence points to bards, runemasters, & gand workers being taken to valhalla. As valhalla is the hall of Odin, & Odin is a master of runes magic knowledge &wisdom it makes perfect sense while there is also historical evidence that backs up valhalla being for scholars. & at the same token it is said that warriors were sent to Thrutheim (Thor's hall) &some even to Hel
Can't believe how many ignorant comments are on here. Maybe people should study properly before spouting uninformed opinions. Check all your sources thoroughly before making fools of yourselves. There are so many historical inaccuracies listed, it's difficult to know where to start.
You who claim our blood, yet disgrace it with hate! You make of our heritage a thing of shame and despoil the beauty our fathers built. I name you loathesome in the Eye of Allfather. @nazvih haha ya i saw how ur savges losers stupid crusaders ran way when Saladin crushed ur lion heart and took Jerusalem. ur history is lame compared with Islamic nation, Europe was in a dark ages while we were the best in education health and army. while ur heroes were murderers and ur popes were so ignorant thinks only in money and land, what history u have ?? kid.
@soulshunter87 Thats bullshit Saladin didnt conquered Jerusalem from Richard he conquered it from Guy! When Richard came Saladin didnt won one! One battle! He lost all battles against Richards and the Crusaders! It was a strike of luck that Richard and Crusader allies didnt retake Jerusalem!
@ImperialGuard9001 that true, but when Richard and Saladin met in many battles, Richard killed all the Muslim hostages and killed every city he conquer he was cruel and greedy, while Saladin sent the Christians hostages back to Richard, more over when Richard horse died Saladin gave him one of the finest Arabia horse and when he was sick Saladin visited him and gave him honey and medicine, Saladin was merciful brave and wise thats why he deserves Jerusalem
@soulshunter87 In real world you deserve what you take. If he had taken Jerusalem he would deserve it. Richard was honorble and brave aswell but he was brutal.
@ImperialGuard9001 anyways im in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh city when ever you visit Dubai , Qatar , Bahrain please come by and visit us, i will be generous as our noble family tough us and how our Islamic tradition command us to do, lets share stories, knowledge, and every thing good and stop being raciest like the one in the second comment want to" stop Islam" its will never happen, he should remember that we are the only faith in world who beliefs that Christianity as a true religion. salam!
@soulshunter87 Richard was fighting alongside his men, while Saladin watched the battles from a distance.Saladin sent a horse to Richard because he would never dare to do the same thing himself.

@ytpoliticsnigga Historians suggests that the vikings fought in defense of the Christian invasion of the north, that they took the battle to the enemy. History has also made clear that the Christians were rather big cunts as well, and still are.
TheMonegarm 5 days ago
@TheMonegarm whose history are you reading? The Gauls, along with the Rus, etc., had been invading Europe before Christianity was even around. And history has only shown that the only "cunts," there are are people, regardless of their religious or cultural background, who go around saying and doing whatever they want without checking their facts.

@sanguinecross1 Whose history? Well why don't you take a wild guess. Can't believe you wrote what you did in your latest comment. Sir, are you aware of that you define your self as a cunt by our own description? Unless of course you have solid proof that the Vikings infact were the biggest cunts in Europe. sanguinecross1 3 hours ago

Messiah has evolved into a term for the demi-god savior, where as mashiach ("The anointed one") refers to a king being anointed as he took the throne.
draiglais 3 weeks ago
@draiglais I defend Christianity, and proclaim that God has revealed himself decisively in Jesus of Nazareth. The Jews of today who reject Christ condemn themselves, for there is only One Name under heaven whereby we must be saved; salvation is in no other. Christ alone is Lord and Master.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ and your christianity will burn with the pagan fires.
AvaddonKa 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ Therein lies the fundamental difference in our beliefs. I don't believe I need to be saved from anything. I have certainly made my fair share of mistakes and I will bear the burden of them. I don't however believe that I carry an inherited sin from a woman eating some fruit.
draiglais 3 weeks ago
@draiglais You don't have to have a view as to how you came to have sinful tendencies, in order for you to be within your rights in believing that you do in fact have them. The story of Genesis has to be interpreted in the light of what the historic Christian tradition has maintained and not in an idiotically literalistic fashion. Doing the latter only exposes you as someone who is either ignorant of or has no wish to engage with sophisticated presentations of Christianity.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ That's yet another difference in our beliefs Benji. My concept of "sin" is nothing like the biblical idea of it. I have three very simple rules: Deal honestly with others, protect my family, and don't be needlessly cruel. Outside of that (legal issues excluding) anything is fair game. So long as I perform those three things to the best of my abilities I cannot "sin". I may be inclined towards anger, lies, violence, or a number of other things just so long as I don't act on them
draiglais 3 weeks ago
@draiglais Well, if you don't consider yourself to have ever failed to live up to your own standards of right conduct, then I really have nothing to say except that you might perhaps be deluded on this score, and that this delusion of yours, if it really is a delusion, could well be the outcome of your own sin. That said, my point remains that Christianity is substantively concerned first to affirm the reality of moral wrongdoing on the part of those who engage in it, and then to offer a remedy.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ I'm not by any means saying that I've never failed in upholding my standards. Those incidents are treated as something to learn from to make you grow stronger. I make amends with and to the person I've wronged and square my debt that way. it's not a matter of appeasing a deity and cleansing my soul. So long as another's path doesn't interfere with me following mine I leave them be. It's not my place to tell them how to live, the standards to keep, or the laws to follow.
draiglais 3 weeks ago
@draiglais What if you make a girl pregnant then persuade her to abort the child? To whom are you going to make amends for this, and how can you square your debt in these circumstances? If God exists, then there is your own debt to him that needs to be squared; and if he doesn't exist, then why think that there is any debt that needs to be squared? Why think that this rigmarole that you have described of 'squaring debts' isn't just a way of making yourself feel better at the end of the day?
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ That's simply not something I would do. Sadly I don't and can't have children, but besides that family is something to treasure. The question is hypothetical and focuses on a belief or the lack thereof. If one believed it was wrong and the fetus was alive they wouldn't do it. If the fetus isn't "living" then they would feel no wrongdoing and it would be their choice. The answer seems to me to be more about personal values than whether or not you would owe something to a god.
draiglais 3 weeks ago
@draiglais 1. Someone might still do it even if he believed the fetus was alive and that abortion was morally evil, because the law allows him to do it (or to encourage someone else to have it done); and because it would spare him the inconvenience of being held responsible for the care of a child who would have been his own. So your claim about what someone would not be willing to do to the fetus if he felt it were wrong to abort it on account of believing it to be alive, is false. cont'd
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@draiglais 2. What is objectively true about whether the fetus is alive (or human) need have no causal relationship to whether a given person is able to find it in himself to regard abortion as morally evil. If it is really true that someone 'would feel no wrongdoing if the fetus weren't living' then it would be suffcient to falsify the notion of the fetus being alive if someone were to be found who would not deem abortion to be morally evil; yet to suppose this is manifestly absurd. cont'd
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@draiglais 3. I vehemently disagree with you that what is right and wrong must depend on your own subjective feelings about the matter, or, as you put it, on 'personal values'. If that were so, what the Nazis did to the Jews in the Holocaust, could be defended by reference to Hitler's 'personal values'. That is why atheism is a morally bankrupt philosophy. If God does not exist, objective moral values do not exist.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@BenjiAJ I'm done here Benji. I won't be converted back to Christianity and you won't concede that pagan's aren't morally bankrupt. I don't see the need to beat my head against the wall talking about abortions and Nazis.

BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ But you save your grandmother because YOU want her to survive, if it was your worst enemy, I can assure you that you wouldn't do the same.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 Yes I want her to survive, and that is my point; for in saving her, I am aiming at her survival and not at the feelings that I know that I would be experiencing if I were to succeed in my attempt to save her. That is what I mean by choosing to do the good for its own sake. The fact that I wouldn't want to be doing the same for anyone else, might only mean that there are some good acts that it would be hard for me to want to do for their own sake.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ Still you want her to survive so that YOU can be with her, you do it for yourself because you want her in the same world as you. You wouldn't do it for a person that you hate, because you don't want this person to live in the same world as you. And not saving him would morally be murder, wich makes you evil.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 I would want her to be in the same world as me, but not because I am seeking to enjoy the feelings that I would be experiencing by having fellowship with her. If that were so, then it wouldn't matter to me whether or not her company was essential to the production of these feelings in me. But even If I could be induced to have these feelings in her absence, I would not see this state as every bit as desirable as the state in which she is present in the same world as me.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@Youang1 That said, I would be willing to forego the enjoyment of her presence if that would mean that she would be saved through my willingness in this regard. That implies that in seeking her survival I am not principally aiming at any experience which it would be possible for me to have. Thus such seeking is an instance of seeking the good for its own sake.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@Youang1 If I fail to be similarly willing to save a person whom I hate, and if it is the case that I ought similarly to be willing to save him, then all that follows is that I would be doing what is morally wrong. The fact that in his case I am not seeking to do what is good for its own sake by seeking to save him in a way similar to the way that I would seeking to save my own grandmother (when this is what I ought to be doing) only implies a moral blemish on my part; nothing else.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
Typo in the post below: I should have said choosing the good for its own sake in the best way possible is impossible without our believing in God; nevertheless, it is possible for someone to believe in God and still be evil (that is to say, to reject his purposes). Hence God withholds giving us overwhelming evidence so as to make it possible for us to learn to do the good for its own sake and not in the certain expectation that our virtue would be rewarded.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago

Amen.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
I don't mean to disrespect you, if you believe the "god of Israel" is the "only true god" that's your opinion....for me.....an oppressive Jewish male deity is not the True God. Also, a Jesus crushing everyone who does not believe in him...why would I want to believe in such version of Jesus in a globalized planet where such ideology has led to massacres, genocide and torture? This sort of Christianity does not work in this era anymore. Not in my opinion.
itzaramaja 4 weeks ago 2
@itzaramaja You are completely ignorant of serious presentations of Christianity. You are probably filling your mind with the garbage that is sold to you in 'women's studies' - or poorly argued, feminist rants about 'male oppression'. Have you heard of Mary the Virgin? Why not model yourself on her? No; because you want to be sexually immoral. What you don't see is that when you behave in this way you are reducing yourself to the level of a slave who exists to satisfy male lust.

itzaramaja 3 weeks ago
@itzaramaja Or perhaps you think that God should not judge you because you are a woman? How chauvinistically conceited you are! And don't lie about Christianity. Read what the distinguished sociologist Rodney Stark has to say about the contributions of Christianity to civilization. Read what Lord Kenneth Clark has to say on the same issue. You are defaming Christ in a bid to deny his Lordship. You are spreading lies about Christ. You don't know how to be a decent Christian woman.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
I am not a feminist and I won't discuss my sexual life or "morality" here (you are making too many mistaken assumptions about me). My rejection towards the "god of Israel" has nothing to do with that. Why would I follow a god that promotes intolerance, guilt, and the sick concept that there is a chosen people and one absolute truth, and the rest are doomed ignorants who deserve death? Or that we're all born sinners, or the Final Judgement... too much fear and anger for me.
itzaramaja 3 weeks ago
A god who calls himself ABSOLUTE and yet he says he is the "Lord" (male), a god who calls himself OMNIPRESENT and yet he condemns those who call divinity by a different name...contradiction everywhere! How convenient to call him the “god of Israel”, to promote the ambitions of an elitist group of bastards. Why would the Jews be the "chosen people"? Under what fucking merits? Why would the Christians be "saved"? Are there not exemplary Hinduists, Buddhists and Muslims as well?
itzaramaja 3 weeks ago
@itzaramaja If I have made mistaken assumptions, I unreservedly withdraw them. Having said this, it must be pointed out that the Jews are the Chosen People in the sense that it was only their prophets who were truly inspired. These prophets attested to the coming of a Messiah who would offer a propitiation for the sins of the world. Hence the Jews are the Chosen People also in the sense that the Messiah was to be of their race. Yet the Messianic mission is directed towards the whole world.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
@itzaramaja Moreover, the Messiah established the Church as a universal kingdom into which men of all cultures are to be summoned unto an allegiance to God. Jesus of Nazareth established the New Covenant with his own blood which serves to give to us a means of atonement for our sins. The God of Israel is the True God and he has revealed himself decisively in Jesus of Nazareth, God Incarnate, the Messiah of Jewish prophecy.
BenjiAJ 3 weeks ago
In short, atheists cannot account plausibly for the most general features of the world - the fine-tuning of the constants of nature and the initial conditions for the evolution of life; the existence of the universe and the lawlike behaviour of all of the universe's material constituents; the emergence of human consciousness; the exercise of rationality and moral awareness; and religious experience.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ Evolution is the cause of accidents and mutations, that is why our bodies work like they do. And if your god exists, I think I would have been dead by now and I don't think he would even allow sinners to exist. You say he's perfect, right? Then why not just create humans without the capability of comitting sins? Why not give some proof of his existense so that all heretics would give in to him? And if he created mankind, explain to me why polyteism exist.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 Evolution presupposes the fine-tuning of the constants of nature and of regularities in the behaviour of material particles which are data that are rendered probable by the theistic hypotheistic. Evolution can't account for the mind-body interactions and specifically for the data which seems only to be able in principle to be accounted for by the postulation of mental substances.

Its fucking brainwashed freaks like you that make it a SHAME
Liliumforsth 4 weeks ago
@Youang1 U have to be racist in order to identify the superior Nordic races to the inferior niggers, jews, chinese and whatever shit they got floating on Odin's land.
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 The nordic race is NOT superior. They're just as bad as any other human race. Sure, we might fit better in a cold climate compared to, for example, arabs, but if you put me in a room that's more than 18 degrees celsius warm, I'll start sweating. I wouldn't last a day i a desert! The human races have adapted to their climate, that is why they look different, none is better than the other, end of discussion!
Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 no, we look different based on genetics. Not just climate. If a nigger lived in the Atlantic for a thousand years, he would still be a monkey. And the Nordic race IS supreme.
The world owes all its creativity, technology and inventions to the Germanic peoples.
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 ... Haven't you heard of a few countries named Greece, Egypt, China, Japan, and India? In 500 BC the nordic race lived in houses made of wood, dirt, straw and animaldroppings, while southern people built great cities of stone.
Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 no, only the white race, specifically the nordic race, has contributed to this world.
All others are sub humans that need extinction.
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 Mesopotamia: The first human civilization, Iraq.
China: Paper, compass, gunpowder, printing.
Asian societys (since I'm not sure of wich countries): Silk, noodles.
India: The numbers we use today, cotton, rocket artillery.
There are many more, just google it and you'll find hundreds of inventions and contributions made by non-european people. If there is one race that need extinction it is the white race, we are responsible for most crimes against human rights worldwide.

wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 You mean the jews that invented jeans, lipstick, traffic lights, genetic engineering, the polio vaccine, stainless steel and a lot more.
Just go back to the cave you came from, and stop that hating. It isn't good for your health.
Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 yes, the same jews that control our economies, media, industry, finance, internal and foreign affairs, governments and law system.
The same jews that invented Bolshevism and murdered 100 million Russian people,
the same jews that caused the black plague
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 ... The black plauge came from china. You know that europeans destroyed the lives of almost all native africans, americans, asians and other. All humans are evil, just more or less.
Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 jews were caught poisoning the waters with the plague. And we did that to others because they are less then Human.
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 Do you even have the slightest idea of what the black plauge actually is!? What kind of a nationalist history teacher did you have!? No human caused the black plauge, it was a virus, it started in china and spread west.
Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 the jews bottled it and contaminated the water from the bottles
wrathofvengance67 1 week ago
@wrathofvengance67 1: People back then didn't know anything about viruses. Not even that they exist.
Youang1 1 week ago

BenjiAJ 1 week ago

Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 That may have a lot to do with the history of your people. Catholicism was recieved with open arms in the Northlands, but later radical lutherans invaded scandinavian lands so as to wipe out Catholicism with the sword. After that, Christianity was a terrible burden to the Nordic peoples, having been imposed upon them against their will. That's a little piece of history Protestants don't talk about. Those animosities still remain, and for good reason. The old culture is all but gone.
sanguinecross1 1 day ago
@Youang1 We're talking, however about the recent invention of the printing press, if you know what I mean. People were only recently gaining access to the scriptures for themselves, sometimes with disastrous results. No one really knew anything back then but what they had been told for centuries, that religious movements were meant to be done with the sword. But don't let people who don't know what they were doing centuries ago keep you from examining things for yourself now, is all I can say.
sanguinecross1 1 day ago

Youang1 1 week ago
@Youang1 I salute you. You embody the true Nordic spirit of your ancestors, and not the racists who celebrate what is evil in their culture. I can see that you have also taken cognizance of the achievements of the other cultures - eg. the ancient Indians and the Chinese. It is someone like you who as a Christian I respect. You are near the heart of Christ. The racists curse the Jews and take pride in savagery and thus reduce themselves to the level of animals.
BenjiAJ 1 week ago
@Youang1 You are right to say that the human race is evil. The Bible calls us 'children of wrath'. And Cardinal Newman spoke of the 'terrible aboriginal calamity' that must have infected the human race with sin. The racists you are responding exhibit hatred towards other men, and in the very process of doing so, have dehumanized themselves. You truly embody the Nordic spirit. Contrary to what some have posted, even the Norsemen were aware of the natural law. Read C S Lewis' 'The Abolition of Man

PandemicInfektion 1 month ago
@PandemicInfektion Sadly I probably wont go to Valhalla or Folkvangr either. I've got one reason keeping me from joining the army, I love my long blonde hair, it's the only thing that I'm proud of and I don't want someone to just cut it off. I'm thinking about becoming a sailor and then I'll hopefully drown and spend an eternity in the hall of Ran and Äger. (Sorry if I spell the names of the gods strange, I'm swedish and because of that I spell their names in swedish.)
Youang1 1 month ago 10
@Youang1 Nobody - no serious thinker - takes the Norse myths seriously. Those myths were full of depravity and told of Ragnarok, a twilight that would befall even the Norse gods themselves. Even Valhalla wasn't eternal. And what was believed to take place in Valhalla? Feasting, licentiousness, and waiting for Ragnarok when they would all be destroyed. But the true God, the God of Israel, is eternal and that God,, took flesh in Jesus of Nazareth, so that he could give his blood for our sins.

@BenjiAJ A: Wouldn't you like to spend your afterlife eating, drinking and fighting?
B: Last time I checked (correct me if I'm wrong) the jewish/christian/muslim has an apocalypse too.
C: And I'm guessing you're a christian so please tell me, what is your "heaven" like?
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 A: Jesus said that in the world to come, we who have glorified bodies, will not and will not need to eat or drink; nor will there be any form of copulation. And we will not fight for war will be over and the goal of all of striving and fighting will have been attained: the vision of God in glory in communion with angels and saints, B: The apocalypse is the unveiling of Christ in glory when he will inaugurate the New Creation and judge the evildoers and punish them in hellfire. cont'd
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ Your heaven sounds pretty boring to me, I'd much rather spend my afterlife feasting and having fun. And how can you prove that the lamb is not self-conscious? How do YOU, a simple human with less genes than a corn plant, know that the lamb does not feel pain? Pain is a warning system to tell the creature that it's in danger. A defenseless lamb should even be more sensitive than a human.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 You're obviously fairly ignorant of the sophisticated literature that exists on the subject. I need only refer you to the atheist philosopher Michael Murray's book "Nature Red in tooth and claw" to see the evidence that biologists have amassed to support the theory that there are 3 basic levels on which pain can be experienced: aversion to stimuli, mental states of pain, and awareness that one is in a state of pain (an awareness which presupposes self-consciousness).
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ How do you know that the lamb isn't self-conscious? Have you ever been a lamb? No, I'm pretty sure you haven't, and if you have been a lamb, you should probably convert to hinduism. Please, you seem like an intelligent person (except for the religious part), so would you be so kind to explain why all people are evil, and explain to me the suffering of animals.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 Thanks, friend for your generous compliment. I want to share with you the Good News that Jesus loves you, and he gave his blood for you on the cross to atone for your sins. I assure you that Jesus loves you. As the Apostle said, 'he loved me and gave himself for me'...for you...yes you...and me. This is the truth.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ I just want to say, before you raise questions, that I do not have any answers, I raise questions to increase my understanding, just like greek philosophers did. I can't disprove your god, but still you can't prove to me he exists, it is all in belief. How can we be sure of anything? How do we know this isn't some illusion that our so called brains have made up? How do we know how old we are, how do we know that everything the history books say have happened?
Youang1 1 month ago

Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 I think that apart from showing Christianity to be true, by defending it by means of arguments, and by countering arguments that have been put forward in an attempt to disprove its claims, we can also directly know in our hearts that the Gospel is true - through the witness of the Holy Spirit. I invite you to open your heart to Christ and pray that God will lead you to the truth.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@Youang1 And God doesn't give us overwhelming evidence nor does he see fit to convince you in particular that he exists beyond all doubt because the desideratum that he is aiming for isnt mere belief in his existence, but rather that we choose to do the good for its own sake. Doing the latter in the best way possible is impossible without our believing in God that it is possible to believe in God and still be evil.
BenjiAJ 1 month ago
@BenjiAJ So you're telling me that I can't do good for it's own sake without believing in God. Well your both right and wrong, I can't do good deeds for it's own sake, but neither can you and your god doesn't have anything to do with it. We can't do good because if we do good, without gaining something materialistic, we still get a good feeling, wich makes want to help more, because we like that feeling, and we want it for our own sake, wich makes it greedy to want that feeling. Greed=Sin.
Youang1 1 month ago
@Youang1 No I mean that you can't do the good for its own sake in an ultimate sense without believing in God, because if God exists, then he is by definition the ultimate good, and so to choose to follow him simply because of who he is, would be the best act possible, which it would not by definition be possible for anyone to choose to do, if that person were not to believe in God's existence. And those who choose to do the good for its own sake don't aim at the feelings you mention. cont'd

@nanacyndilou Sure, Norse mythology is interesting, but animal sacrifices, and preforming ritualistic tasks to appease gods is just ridicules. The religions that trace there roots back to the old testament actually offer teachings and philosophies that benefit society as a whole.
