At this point, I'm not sure whether to root for it to pass or fail. We need health care reform, but this bill's been watered down so much that it might do more harm than good. If a bill with no public-option is signed, I will be voting for a third-party candidate over Obama in 2012. His lack of leadership and conviction is costing this country dearly.
I think we should all vote third party for the next few cycles. That would eliminate the need for campaign finance reform and term limits; not to mention, it would breathe fresh air into our political system.
I don't see where Obama has anything to do with it at this point. He can't do much until the Bill hits his desk. You can thank Congress for this mess.
As of now, the fees for not paying for insurance are less than the premiums... And coverage cannot be denied based on pre-existing conditions. Why not just pay the fee than buy coverage when you get sick?
this is what sucks about this whole process. The GOP and conservatives scream for a seat at the table, say that the Dems aren't being bipartisan...but the second they get a seat at the table they do their best to water down and dismantle the bill. They get what they want, but still, even though they get what they want, they still intend to vote against it.
Right now the GOP are functioning only as sabateurs of the public will, sowing fear, souring the public discourse, and doing harm.
"About it"? The 4-million-strong (optimistically) public option, a mechanism dependent on its large scale to bargain costs down?
This is clearly the best the Dems can manage...and it's a big steaming plate of jack shit. Fasten yr seatbelts, fellow Merkins, we are way up the creek with no paddle in sight.
Gore Vidal's dark post-911 writings ("Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace"), panned at the time as the crankery of a thinker past his prime, are echoing mighty presciently to these ears.
Ah, but the GOP won't be the one's taking the fall here! It'll be Lieberman, Nelson & Co ruining everything, the DEMS painted as ineffectual &.or incompetent, and in 2012 we get President Pawlenty or fucking Romney, a flipped house of congress or two, and a deeper slump into 3rd world status.
The GOP don't give a fuck about the country. They crave the majority (THEN they care, because then it's THEIR country). And I think the conservative Dems are pretty content to see GOP rule return.
Sure George Bush is a war criminal that's not good when the people in charge of the money supply are counterfeiters with no world leaders saying anything about it ?

Let the GOP block health care blame it on them during the next election and pass Single Payer in 2010

Subversion - hidden change they use change agents like integral to discredit the undermining of society.
Nothings working right - Watch a Brian Gerrish video on the topic. Its how the Nazi's came into power.
Money System - Gold going up daily proves this isn't working
Unfunded Sandbox Wars - Wars aren't working
Global Warming Hoax - Proven false information feed to society through mass media.
The change agents operate through charities like bill gate's vaccine program for poor people.
