Look I'm not trying to bash the song or the band - because I like them both - but this things has the 80s stamped all over it. From the over the top production to that over-polished synthesizer sound and electric drum sound to dizzy "artistic" excess.
It is a classic, but a classic firmly grounded in its time period.
There is simply no way this song or this video gets produced or played today.
I don't know, while the 80's are definitely not the best decade for music with some exceptions this decade that is coming to a close is pretty terrible, this from a guy born in 1990 so this last decade is "what I grew up with"
This version from Substance 1987 is different from The Best of New Order. Slight differences in both songs, but all in all a great song from the 80's!!!!
Am I insane or am I noticing slight alterations in sound every so often to fool the thing that searches for copyright infringement. Well, either way, going to look up an ol' favorite only to have it missing is a bummer. So it's nice this is still here.
Funy how you talk about "charts don't lie "this song was made almost 2 decades ago- that's 20 years-to you idoits- and we are still listening to it! Rihanna's songs out today do you really think we will be listen to them??? NO!!
People who are wondering why music degenerated into what it is today... I don't disagree and i fully enjoy this era of music, but the people who grew up in the generation before you had the same question about the 80's
you can see hints of music from the past in bands that are not heavily commercialized or publicized on the tv or radio. seriously, just open up your ears and eyes and stop reminiscing, you can get music that is influenced by the 80s. here, i'll throw an example out there for ya, check out chromeo (they also collaborated with hall and oates just fyi)
if music today was the same as back then, we wouldn't be able to truly appreciate how good it was. But that doesn't defend the fact that today's music is crap!!!
well, actually i agree with u...i was only saying SK was good because i didnt want the person bashing this song to get pissed off at me....but SK...is a novelty like u said...who are weird...and have about one good song.....they are so over rated.

i agree so much with u....although my generation is now...it sucks...so this new generation can keep their precious SK....i'll gladly take my 80s music any day XD

It's hard to believe that this was released in 1986 it looks and sounds like it could have been released recently.
But they do say the classics never get old. I searched for this video for a while but i couldn't find it.
