  • It's hard to believe that this was released in 1986 it looks and sounds like it could have been released recently.

But they do say the classics never get old. I searched for this video for a while but i couldn't find it.

  • Look I'm not trying to bash the song or the band - because I like them both - but this things has the 80s stamped all over it. From the over the top production to that over-polished synthesizer sound and electric drum sound to dizzy "artistic" excess.

It is a classic, but a classic firmly grounded in its time period.

There is simply no way this song or this video gets produced or played today.

  • I don't know, while the 80's are definitely not the best decade for music with some exceptions this decade that is coming to a close is pretty terrible, this from a guy born in 1990 so this last decade is "what I grew up with"

  • I disagree, I was born in the 90's and I think the 80's were the best.

  • WTF was with the reincarnation bit?

  • The shot of the girl running, clutching her doll at 1:14 is my fav in this whole video. Just works so well with what's trying to be said

  • Epic tune. Pure genius.

  • true

I get down on my knees and pray when I listen this song ;)

  • Anyone here in the U.S. remember that short-lived music video channel "The Tube"? They played this one a lot. That was an awesome thing...

  • i think i remember that if it's what im thinking of definitely a model for what MTV and VH1 should be

  • god i love this song. it is never disappointing, always hits the spot

  • This version from Substance 1987 is different from The Best of New Order. Slight differences in both songs, but all in all a great song from the 80's!!!!

  • This song is perfect!!

  • arguably the best song of the 80s. one of the best of all time

  • Yeah!! ^^

One of my battle cry songs! ^^

As I too once had a bizarre love triangle of my own ^^ , I was the third wheel though but I don't effin' care!

  • "you're a real 'up' person" lmao

  • Masssaaaaaa D +++++

  • Am I insane or am I noticing slight alterations in sound every so often to fool the thing that searches for copyright infringement. Well, either way, going to look up an ol' favorite only to have it missing is a bummer. So it's nice this is still here.

  • They don't have this version on itunes, they have another but it doesn't have the same oomph, like there's less emphasis on the singer.

  • Perfect

  • sensacional, maravilhosooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Can you feel the power?

  • I love this song

  • this is my stage song..!!!!!!!

  • No one said you had to believe in reincarnation lady.

    WTF was her problem?

  • she didn't want to come back as a bug or as a rabbit

  • what's wrong with that?

  • bellisimo ^^....tb la banda new wve canta esta cancion en estilo pop!...buena cancion =)

  • Damn, I never get tired of this. I could listen to this song forever, and still find it awesome.

  • 80s master piece

  • Good thing isi can still hear this song on the radio today!

  • Funy how you talk about "charts don't lie "this song was made almost 2 decades ago- that's 20 years-to you idoits- and we are still listening to it! Rihanna's songs out today do you really think we will be listen to them??? NO!!

This is a classic... love it! <3

  • OMG, they guy who says "You know, you're a real UP person" is HOTtTTTttt! Any1 know who e is?

  • I think his name is Eric Max Frye.

  • 90% of American music is inspired by African Americans and Latins.

Any true musician will tell you that.

  • Whoa....the comments got really grotesque....

  • They were both blocked ;)

  • english translation:

"i do admit to myself myself, that if i HAD someone else, i'd never see what we're meant to be"

often people think it says HURT

but limewire is being gay and only give me half songs

  • This song changed my life and forever will be part of my being

  • I can't stop listen to this !!!!

  • I KNOW!!!!!

  • I love New Order.

  • People who are wondering why music degenerated into what it is today... I don't disagree and i fully enjoy this era of music, but the people who grew up in the generation before you had the same question about the 80's

  • nice video

  • Pure beauty. It sounds like ear candy... Maybe we already peaked as a society?

  • I wish it was 1987 again. :(

  • Joel Santana cantaria assim:

    évitchaimeassiiufolei....

  • Words cant say how great this song is and how great New Order are. How did music get so bad in the 2000s? Music should have stayed like this.

  • you can see hints of music from the past in bands that are not heavily commercialized or publicized on the tv or radio. seriously, just open up your ears and eyes and stop reminiscing, you can get music that is influenced by the 80s. here, i'll throw an example out there for ya, check out chromeo (they also collaborated with hall and oates just fyi)

    good luck lookin' around. ;]

  • if music today was the same as back then, we wouldn't be able to truly appreciate how good it was. But that doesn't defend the fact that today's music is crap!!!

  • sophisticated and catchy.

  • because its good....slip knot is good....alot of music is good.....dont be so closed mined....although heavy metal conquers all

  • ehhh no, every genre is great, except for few things of course...

but shitknot compared to New Order, no, New Order is baws!!

  • in ten years they will only be remembered as a novelty. NO, were groundbreaking innovators. SK, is just a bad KISS copy.

  • well, actually i agree with u...i was only saying SK was good because i didnt want the person bashing this song to get pissed off at me....but SK...is a novelty like u said...who are weird...and have about one good song.....they are so over rated.

  • it is...and they are just plain weird....and they go by numbers and those STUPID MASKS!!! its like wtf? although my generation is now....the mainstream world can shove this 2000s crap up their @sses....i gladly take my 80s music any day XD...it is like my heart and soul....LOL

  • i agree so much with u....although my generation is now...it sucks...so this new generation can keep their precious SK....i'll gladly take my 80s music any day XD

  • Thats fucken right!! Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Cure, and New Order for the fucken WIN!! better then your crappy and ShitKnot, Bring me the Whoreizon, Wanking the Cadaver, Crayon of Fag, and any other crappy waterd down music that our faggy generation is taking up the ass..

  • SHITKNOT IS RETARDS SIR!!! GTFO...

get that angsty teen fag bullshet outta here, seriously thats real CRAP,

New Order is art and 80's beat that...

go fuck yourself, internet tuff guy xD

  • see above comment

  • OMG! i love this song! when i hear it i gotta sing along XD

  • i would <3 to live the 80s will give anything to go back in time o.o but i was born in the 90s :(

  • People may knock the 80's, but great songs are great songs. And this is not only a great song...it's a classic! Perfect in every way.

  • The Venue ,in Manchester 1987 ,always on when we were coming downstairs after finishing last orders in pub -massive tune, fills your heart & soul with joy.

  • she's asian i thot lots of asian religions believe in reincarnation lol

  • could pls someone whos native language is english explain me what's meant when he says "you're a real UP person" ?? thanks in advance >> 2:45

  • He's being sarcastic and saying like "You're a really positive person."

  • the name of bernard is bernard sumner, not bernard dicken

  • i was born in the 1960s - OMG, 1980s music rocks. Synth/Pop, Big Hair, Glam, Heavy Metal - LOL!

    Today's Music SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel so sorry for anyone born after 1980

  • I was born in 1982 and I feel the same way about all the kiddies born after 1990.

  • ..hey buddy! theres pple who were born after 1980 who also hates these years songs and luvs 80s songs too man! like me, born in the 90s luv 80s and rock hate r&b and rap and hardcore heavy metal or anything with screaming

  • Back when the music was soooo fun and full of and good vibs!

  • hmm wats the song donna lewis has with the same lyrics??

  • This song was huuuge on the floor in the late eighties..

  • it still is!

  • My favorite song of all time - the vocals, the lyrics, the music, everything. But I like the extended mix (12 inch?) the best. Pure brilliance.

  • I prefer the 12" Mix on Substance, but this is my all time favorite song too. Thought I was alone in the corner on this one.

  • And I thought I was alone too - :) Bizarre Love Triangle is pure genius in my opinion.

  • AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is my instant mood enhancer :)

  • This brings back memories! I wish I am back there!

  • You're a really UP person

  • Thanks for pointing that out Merknilash; I would have totally missed that.

    /s

  • And the impressive insight continues.

Do us all a favor and just scurry back to your brethren on 12chan.

  • Someone has a stick up their ass - maybe you shouldn't be so angry at people because your life is a failure.

  • One of the best dance songs of the 80s.

  • Stop taking down this video, dammit youtube!

  • Tell me about it; they take down lots of awesome videos I try to put up.

The one I'm most pissed about is Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue - Where the wild roses grow

  • 20+ years and this song is still my anthem. Very fortunate to live my teens in the 80s when the music was vibrant...

  • remember that time I washed you when you had that rash?

  • i love my mom for introducing music like this to me, when i was a youngster.

i always wish that i was born in the 70s, that way i could've enjoyed the 80s as a teen, but it's okay.

  • New Order videos r amaazing and make me wish I was born to experience the 80zz. I was born in '95.

  • Me too!

    I wish I could've been an 80's teen :(

It's like I was born in the wrong time.

    Dammit.

  • Haha - I was born in '82. I was still too young to enjoy it then.

You'd really have to be born in the 60's or 70's to get the same kind of enjoyment out of this I think :)

  • awesome!!

  • When I get this way i just don't know what to say..why cant we be ourselves like we were yesterday??

    Absolute quality!

  • The wisdom of a fool won't set you free.

    Classic.

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!!

  • classic

  • Oh I see.

  • me enkantaaaaaaaaaaaaa esa rola!!!

  • '70 and '80 i would mean...

  • I'm from '85 and i have heard this and many '70 and '90 songs since the early of90, and it's what i call music, not these many sh*t that we see on MTV and listen to the radio everyday.

  • not cos u dislike or is different, is not music...

S: ... ppl dont get used to that...

anyway music is an expression... so anyone can do it

  • Haha I've been listening to this since I was a kid born in 93 cause my parents loved it, then i started to hate it and know find more respect for it. Too bad it died out early. But I hear this on the radio all the time

  • New order, pls work out your differences and get back together so you can make our lives better with great songs in this times flooded with music mediocrity and despair. :-S

  • I agree. Is there a really nice studio recording of "Bizarre ..." on You Tube?

  • Well I think this is the studio version, or at least the radio edit of it, perhaps you want a live version, well I think there´ll be plenty of those here on youtube.

  • If they did not many people would like them anymore since New Wave died out in the 90s

  • I know, and that´s part of it´s charm cause it´s not the mainstream, meaning it´s hidden gems for ppl who really appreciate music, not for teenie boppers.

  • i like the song and i bet i am even more man than you are....

  • CrimsonAngel.

I agree with you, but thats a bad call with that name.

  • what do you mean?

  • Love it since I was a kid in the late 80´s, even b4 my musical taste was defined. Great mix of alternative spirit w dance groove.

  • What can I say the eights rocked!!! It was the best time to be young I would not want to be young today so many uncertaintes and greif!!! Seriously the biggest problem we faced was a cold war with the Russians, big deal! Young kids now have to deal with AIDS, global warrming, the hole in the ozone, unemployment, and the the finacial fiasco the world is in now. You have my sympathies!!!!!!

  • Thank goodness for Magic Johnson coming out and talking about HIV when he did!

Gotta admit though, the cold war had it's moments! Nothing compared to Iraq. or Afghanistan, I know...

    G.

  • The best song that I have heard....I love it since I was thirteen years old.

  • Muy buen la musica....it's cool

  • nice melody for melodious spring :)
