hi, i want to start a modular and i want to have some modules dedicated for doing rhythms, my concern is about the sequencer... if i wanted, for example, a filter doing bass drum, a noise gen doing snare and hh that would be 3 tracks in a sequencer? so i would need a 3 track sequencer? or with a 8 step like the analogue solutions or the MFB i can get along? i am as well considering the doepfer a155 seems a powerfull sequencer and no too expensive
Hi there! About the sequencer, the mfb seq02 is pretty cool coz it got a lot (6 or 12 ) gate and/or cv and also has a kind of grid mode (tr like) and it save my maq 16/3 for doing melodic stuff and filter tweak. The a-155 is similar to the maq, and i 'd not recommand this for pure drum patterns. Also there are a lot of tricks (wich make all the interest of modular) to make never heard before drum patterns without sequencer (or just a little) . Don't worry you 'll learn on the way as i did ;)
@popitem cool! thanks! i think i will start with the mfb and i might move to another seq for more bassline kind of stuff... well with modulars you ever know what will happen so... lets have fun, hehe
Sounds like scrolling platform computer game music!
