2nd mvt is played too hurriedly... think it needs to be spread out a bit more, just a tiny tiny bit more. or maybe the american audience do not let her play her 'music' out. The audience must have felt, "whoa, good skill~"
i might ask my school if they would give me some cello lessons cus apocalyptica has inspired me ..although i play normal guitar and bass i dont know what would be wrong with playing one of these cus it does sound good
well...yes...and I really don't work hard, at least to me. I also find a lot of people saying I'm a really quick learner, if I try a little, and give a week and I could play any song really good but not like Yoyoma good. so I guess u are right...
I'm sorry, but you're probably not as special as you think you are :D I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I'm an Italian-American and a week is plenty of time to learn a 4-5 minute solo down to every last nuance.
Not trying to be rude... Just trying to dispel the fears of any readers who might think their race makes them musically inferior.
oh I know. that's perfectly fine. I was only trying to say that your previous inference or view was kinda off when it came to me. and when I say kinda off I mean like 10% off.. maybe less.
I love the human sound and feel of the cello. As a person who simply plays around with musical instruments, I especially appreciate a person such as yourself with 'real' musical talent. Thank you.
With such a name, I think you've told us that already, not to mention that you play chess, won the spelling-bee, get straight A's and drive slow and eat rice.
Not necessarily. They may be faster and have higher pitch, but cellos can cover a lot of ground in terms of their role within an orchestra, able to carry some of the bottom end, chords, harmonies, and even some lower melodies. Violins are more suited for lead playing. Neither is really more versatile than the other; they are both instruments and it really depends on the composer's style.
And by the way, saying that "[music is music]" is like saying that beating on trash can lids with drum sticks has something in common with Mozart's piano sonatas and I for one will not "just love it all."

I'm sorry, but while I myself prefer solo performance of the cello over violin, my own personal preferences do not permit such arrogance. The fact is this, like it or not: You are only right in saying "it depends on the composers style," you're right, it does, and composers have collectively chosen to write most melodies for the part of the violin, therefore making it the most versatile. In fact, discard the factor of available works and the viola covers a better audible solo range of either.
"my own personal preferences do not permit such arrogance."
So I'm arrogant because of my "personal preference" of the cello over the violin? Not sure if you picked it up, but I don't have a preference of one over the other; I was speaking with an objective stance because a user before exhibited personal preference. So I think you're getting your targets mixed up. That, or you're just a presumptuous prick, based on the comments you've left so far responding to other people in a hostile manner.
Where can I find the sheet music for this sonata?
