  • its not really annoying..... even radar detecter users use rabbits....

  • DAMNNNN, you're "higher class" German Engineered BMW e39 that you bought used is gonna make VW and other drivers jealous? You are SO smart .... plus, the dude was trying to pass you cause your pussy ass was going to slow. No one was using you as a "Rabbit"

  • I seriously doubt he is following you because you have a radar detector.

  • chill your boner dude, just cause you have a radar detector and someone else doesn't, does not mean you own the left lane. if i see you ill be sure to "rabbit" you just to piss you off, no matter how fast or slow you go.

  • why don't you do the right thing and drive and put down the camera

  • Smug lectures about other people's driving behaviors from someone who owns a gadget for the primary purpose of breaking traffic laws is so manifestly hypocritical that I can't imagine posting it on Youtube. What's the point of even having a radar detector if you're going to let other drivers influence your speed downward? Mind your own driving and don't worry about other people who aren't doing anything dangerous or disruptive to traffic flow.

  • Well if you really don't want to happen to you again then put your radar more up like I do with my valentine v1

  • Well maby if you werent speeding people wouldnt be riding your tail :P

  • Why not just drive....and who cares about anyone else?

  • you can do the right thing or you can do the smart thing

  • with a lot of Volkswagen LOL!!!!

  • Sophisticated drivers pull to the right when they aren't passing people.. nuff said.

  • What is that on your rear view mirror? Looks like a HUD

  • This can happen even if you don't own a radar detector, I have encountered it before and just moved to the left lane (probably because I do show signs of aggressiveness in some situations and people think I have an intention of going fast). It's usually best to have somebody in front of you as a shield and let them go as fast as they want just to be on the safe side, don't feel pressured because somebody wants you to go faster. Of course, the cop can choose to stop anybody he wants...

  • @Reb00tProductions

    Meant to say *right lane.

  • Interesting comment about VW owners. I've noticed the same thing. I travel freeways on trips up to 5 hours in duration. Are these fellows BMW-wannabe motorists who haven't got the $ to buy an "Ultimate Driving Machine", and insurance to protect it? My impression is that these VW owners seem confident enough driving these cars at high speed -- without scaring themselves to death.

  • @klexenmeister - that's the answer right there. Among other cars, I own a Jetta VR6. Not exactly a stoplight assassin, but it has enough oomph to hang at low triple digits without working too hard and it's very stable at speed. On the other hand, I've had cars I'd never push past 85 for any reason unless maybe I were being chased by a tornado or Cloverfield or something. Some VW drivers drive at higher speeds not because there's some ego associated with owning a VW, but because they can.

  • Man, this type of being followed as soon as they get a sense I got some sort of police radar countermeasures in my car is really epidemic down in the States, get your own freakin' RD if you really wanna drive over the PSL, don't use me as your own personal guinea pig!!!

Anytime I see a driver with no RD following me very closely, all I do is moving over while slowing down close to the PSL and then watching his/her next reaction, overwhelmingly they slow down themselves within the PSL!

  • @401RoadWarrior

Note that the car passed the vehicle with the RD unit when he slowed down. I've never had a problem being followed. Then again, I limit my speed to 10mph over unless I got several rabbits running interference.

  • Wow can you be any more full of yourself LMAO you are pathetic get a real detector if you have so much money but the valentine!! You and your german Car lmaO what is it with people thate drive bmw's and mercedes. Think their car is so much better! This make me laugh you slow down because someone is behind you! U r a moron

  • Hes not slowing because ANYONE is behind him, hes slowing because the person is following him to take advantage of his radar detector. They are very specifically following HIM, not just the car in front of them. I would move over too.

  • @chris6558

... So you have made it pretty clear that you haven't seen any other videos from SpeedTrapHunter

  • sweet hat

  • thanks, Stetson all the way...

  • I had a fun ride to Vegas with another car. We both saw each other's detectors and so we took off. We traded off being the rabbit.

  • yeah why slow down? then you are only getting beat by the clown following you! Instead, put your detector to good use and gun it. 9/10 times they back off once you hit about 90mph.

  • I used to used the piggy back technique on my motorcycle because radar detection wasn't really practical for a vehicle with no closed cockpit.

Hell, a trail of Audi/BMW/MBs sailing along at 110mph or so, they might as well have banners that read "Climb aboard!"

I think you see it with the VWs, because they are affordable to people who can't justify dropping the cash on a detector. If they have aftermarket wheels, they have no excuse, though...

  • I've seen this so many times. This is the exact tactic I use. Most of the time, they wimp out. :)

  • The comment about VW drivers had me ROTFL.

  • what is the point of this....I thought this would show that your radar works....useless 3 minutes

  • i have a v1 mounted high on windshield just below tint strip with power cord hidden and use a concealed display. i still get those that want a free ride. i dont mind as long as there not tailgating. thanks for sharing.

  • I enjoyed this video. yeah only down fall with any Dash mounted radar detector people can see and then want you too lead... so why do you run - the STi-R remote and also a dash mounted radar?

  • I'lll take it to 120mph if they piss me off

  • @Fastgt2003 You probably dont want to do that unless you know your tires are rated at that speed.

most arent, typically rated up to 100mph.

Anything over 80mph , your aiming, not driving. dont get yourself killed.

  • @johnpa2006 Tires in modern cars are rated at 130 mph or more. My car can only do 150, but the tires are rated at 186.

  • that free ride shit is not safe

  • I can't say I really care if people want a free ride as long as they do not drive like idiots (on my tail, or always in the left lane). At night it can actually be useful if they stay far enough back and have identifiable lights as then one can know nothing is coming up behind them they are unaware of. I put my display in dk mode at night anyway though simply so there are less bright lights in the cabin distracting me.

  • He could have had a ci or -R, no?

The 100+ stunt is my MO. I just try to get the heck out of their way, because they are 'moochs' and don't deserve anything from me.

  • you could allways put your display on dark mode thats what i do so that the person behide you doesnt use you but at the same time you get the Audio alerts

  • Thanks, yes, that would likely help in the evening, perhaps to some extent.

However, people will try to get a free ride whether or not I drive with a radar detector, so long as I am traveling faster than their original speed when I initially passed (often being forced to do so on their right).

  • Man driving VW? we need to question his manhood..lmao
