You know, I was gonna bitch about the problems with this show, but that scene with Mayor Green and his sons was really powerful.

I know a show is good when it can actually make me cry. The actors are good, the writing is good, and, while a little low budget, the scenes in this movie were well shot and well made.

I WILL make sure to buy that comic.

Watch season 2 on CBS...only 7 episodes. As far as I know Gerald McRaney (Johnston) never served in the military but I DO KNOW he's been invited AND attended at least 1 Marine Ball. Saw the picture from a Marine friend years ago. He's highly respected in the Marines.

Because reality shows cost next to nothing to make. What, $1 mill as the prize money per season, and then a few thousand per head as the cast? Compared to something like Seinfeld where each of the cast members is making nearly a million per episode.

A channel could put out an entire lineup of reality shows for a combined production cost lower than Lost.

I thought Johnston Green was ex Army Ranger? Didn't he think to put the people with hunting rifles into the hills around the battle area, as snpiers? In real life, single action hunting rifles are better used in combat as sniper weapons.(because of rate of fire, and accuracy) A few halfway decent hunters, as snipers, with 30-06 rifles, can decimate a enemy.

overall this was a pretty good adrenaline episode, except for minor elements.

Very true. Indeed, the military has often made use of large hunting rifle models as sniper rifles. The tactics could have been more realistic, but they are no worse than those in bad war movies.

I have actually thought about this since watching jericho. It would be kinda cool actually... terrible for all those that would of died in the bombs but, at the same time life would be completely different. everyday would be a day to day struggle to survive and you would appreciate the good times so much more, plus it wouldn't be the exact same day to day grind of getting up, going to work, coming home, sleeping... it would actually be pretty crazy. Not saying I want it to happen but still.
