@ bugsme10: First off sorry but I removed your comment by accident WHOOPS ! :( To answer your question; They have machines that will sort out the zinc & copper pennies. I don't have a machine so I do it by hand. Any penny from 1909 to 1981 is 95% copper 5 % zinc with the exception of the1943 which was made of steel. Any penny pre 1909 is fairly valuable & would go into a coin collection. Thanks for your intrest & have great day.
