Thanks! at 1:54 I used the diminshed-six chord to switch to the major 5 (I was in F minor, and then switched it to C major using a D diminished chord). I thought it worked because I suspended the F- over a C for the opening of the piece, so it made sense to progress it to C major in the development.
Does that make sense, or should I stay away from the theory talk?
Nope, I got it ;) I broke it down, then played the chords on my keyboard, going from Fm to Ddim to C. It makes sense now, that I understand it. And yes, you were right, it does makes sense to return to C around the middle of the piece.
Thanks for explaining, and I enjoy the theory talk. I like to understand things better.
Awesome, it's great to discuss this with people who understand! I've found that the people who listen to my improvs really seem to know music...it's very encouraging :)
I hope to get into more theory discussions on later improvs!
Thanks! Cool. Maybe I'll do more fast-pased classical-sounding ones. It's never actually like traditional classical though...I should think of something else to call it.
I reallly liked this one. unorganized, yes, but in a good way.
I liked the chord change at 1:54, i don't know why, it just really stuck out.
I also really likd the contrast at about 2:41, it was very different in each part, which made it one of my favorite improvs yet.
The ritardando at 3:40 was amazing too, very... suspenseful.
i was in a bit of a daze, the entire time!! I have goosebumps!

Thrilling fast pacing music always gives me the goosebumps!
Call this 'trance'...the sweetness and 'heartbeat' of this piece suit the name... :P

Thank you! Maybe I should start naming these pieces with real names...not a bad idea

It was good. I kind of liked fast paced better. Maybe that's why I also like jazz so much.
