4:09 Remeber his words artist! That was so on point! I agree with that so much-You have to be crazy to come up with shit like this! Kick ass Massive Black
@Zutaiola a couple of day depending on what your using, im guess as this is a couple of days he would have added some dryer to his medium , to speed up the process
Yeah, people who use different tools arent real artists, like those hacks who actually carve out shapes with knifes and chisels and stuff, what idiots.
It is indeed true that there are technological advantages that make digital art seem weak; but realize its only a step away from traditional painting. As I have been taught through roaming the internet; one must master traditional art before moving to digital art. Its really more a matriculate necessity than anything else.
Greg's a Master - and as nice a guy/willing to share as he is a brilliant painter. What a great opportunity, guys. Thanks to you and Mr. Manchess . . .
I knew I was favoriting this video before I even clicked on it. I started my Painting II class today and watching this video makes me want to become so much better at my craft than I already am. Wow, what an inspiration to all artists you are Mr. Manchess, and if this is on a DVD I will definitely be purchasing it.
You can paint acrylic over oils just fine. Most oil paintings end up over acrylic in one way or another because canvases are sold primed with acrylic gesso.
You can't paint acrylic over oil though, that doesn't work.

Hey I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, but

Thanks for this video, sick stuff!

Nice to actually see a video of a real artist, and not some dude messing around with photoshop transparencies and textures.

was that brown base india ink?
lard444 3 years ago
Maybe brown india....or he mixed it himself..alot of these guys even mix their own blacks...stunning.
chachie5150 3 years ago
the brown underpainting was most likely an acrylic wash.
paintingthedayaway 3 years ago

oil dosen't work well on top of acrylic right? eh', but it is a wash...
